I dunno about legendary, but there are “rare” weapons only available via alchemist’s Magnum Opus

Well, there are equipment sets, that give extra bonuses if the set is complete. I bet those will be hard to find.

those are only drop from field bosses if I remember correctly

Technically there’s rarity tiers.

Common - White
Blue
Purple
Orange

There is a lot of unique gear with special effects like AoE ratio/etc.

Usually these are crafted and you need to find/buy the recipes first.

Then Alchemist can do things with it as well.

The harder purple one i have gotten is vubbe gauntlets. Getting the vubbe warrior blood was a pain in the ass but those +10 str are totally worth it. The other purples are easy to make, just sub quest items and you are ready.

Right now Im wondering if I should keep the lv.40 dex +2 boots or change them for lv.75 just evasion ones.

please

I wanna ask devs about the Heroic/Epic Gears and Items looted from dungeon, is it Bounded after looted or not?

well, why I ask, recently in Cabal 2, all Heroic gears are made a major patching and they change the bound state of the gear taken from dungeon, which we all know that, yeah it must be bounded at the 1st place, but i dont know why they made it tradable and can be sold in their Auction House almost a month, and they just change it because of floating game economy,

my point is, I want to be sure that this kind of things (i dont know if we can call it a mistake) wont happen in ToS, we all like this game, and making those kind of mistakes make players ended up their time playing.

Itemization in a game like TOS is very important. Just as it is important that it takes a very long time to fully level your character to max, it should take the same level of hardcore effort, pain, struggle, decision making and sacrifice to obtain the best gears in the game. It shouldn’t be as simple as an item dropping on the ground after killing a tough monster. It should be an epic journey to acquire top gears. One should be forced to decide which gears to upgrade as upgrading materials take tons of effort to obtain. On top of that, there should be risks attached to upgrading gears. Top players should be easily recognized by their feats of strength displayed in pvp and pvm. It should be clear who took the time out to differentiate their character from the rest of the players online.

Refining one’s gear should be similar to the leveling experience. As you play through the game, materials to help refine one’s gear should drop every so often. Players should be required to kill a variety of monsters on different maps to get all the required items to level specific gears. After collecting enough of these materials, players should link up with alchemists to have their gears upgraded for a cost. This will keep ALL the maps in the game flooded with players, creating diversity in not only where people play, but how they play it. This also promotes a community based economy where players need players.

There should also be items that are so difficult to drop, that it requires the effort of guilds participating in the acquisition of these items.

I’ve played other MMO’s where people could literally play the game without every interacting with other players. Thats not a real MMO. Players needing players is a core concept in any successful MMO. Solo players should still be able to get to the end of the game and have fun doing it. but to truly unlock the games potential, players need to interact with other players.

I share your same opinions. Well you should be glad, since for Orange tier weapons none of them can be crafted without a recipe. Some have some hidden recipes, that as a community, we have to find out for ourselves, on how to acquire these recipes.

Also, you have Magnum Opus, where unknown combinations lead to unknown weapons. The 3rd kCBT players tried to find a method/formula or logic behind them, but it is still uncracked. I believe it is semi-random if not fully randomized and knowing IMC’s love of hidden classes/items/dungeons they would definitely want players to try all sorts of combinations to find the way leading to the best weapons. Some of these hidden orange class weapons can’t even be made with recipes, like the ordinary orange class ones. It can only be made by using Magnum Opus. I don’t know of any other game that goes through such lengths to make building high class weapons such a challenge and so rewarding when done!

top gear often takes longer than leveling, since it requires luck, trading plus knowing the economy and p2p interaction, besides a real lot of time as you said, and learning where to farm for each item/component, also figuring the best way to acquire certain things, some may be by farming others by trade.

actually it should be that, mixed with crafting/trading, while craft and trade are reliable sources with an error proof method, these two have less/no luck involved in the process.
there should be item/gear drops revolving around a wild RNG system. So most of the time players will always try to craft/trade for items, but one can get luck every once in a while to find a gear that surpasses expectations, if not for his/her current class then for another. Luck and RNG have to play a factor too, otherwise farming becomes a grinding process unfun and unrewarding.

I have serious reservations about gear refine/upgrade, because most games use that as an excuse to have poor/lazy itemization and just throw a few pieces of savorless gear that player has to keep leveling and upgrading, wich turns into a boring and tedious long-time task. Usually its best to have a broad range of interesting gear and dont focus on upgrading it too extensively.
of course it would be amazing if a game can deliver both varied itemization coupled with a useful/well-thought upgrade system, but MMOs widely suck at itemization so I’m trying to keep my hopes realistic and near zero.

i hate you <-< well not really… maybe a bit <-< xD playing since closed beta still dont have one <-<

Crafted itens can be named, so pure crafting alchemists can create unique named itens.

i think should have low rate drops/ quest rewards items like
Legendary/ holy swords swords ClaĂomh Solais,Excalibur, Durendal, Gjallarhorn
and spears like Lance of Longinus or Gáe Dearg. Theres alot of people that like to spend time trying to acquire this kind of stuff.

no excalibur but theres a recipe to craft caliburn
