Actually at first I hated the idea too. But now that I think about it, I kinda wanted ToS to be P2P anyway to lessen abusers, and so locking down some features like these while still allowing non-paying players to grind and interact is fine.

Although maybe they should make the tokens cheaper.

This is not a cultural thing, this is to stop bots, currency sellers and other trash that plague MMOs.

While the players do take colateral damage, it might help with those issues.

That profile pic…Exuro?!

And a lot of P2P games have gold sellers anyway, sadly…

Lol. Who might you be?

That is you, right? And someone from the incredibly biased forums of a “certain old-school game”

But yea a lot of MMOs have one on one trades, to limit it as a premium feature might be…odd. But there’s no other MMORPG I can think of that outright disabled 1 on 1 trading. I wonder what it would do to the economy of the game.

Known fact, game currencies hyperinflate due to bots and goldsellers. We already have them. Followed by the fact that we are not allowed 1-1 Trading unless we buy premium features, the dynamics of the ToS economy will be…interesting, to say the least.

In the virtual flesh. Playing Terms of Service for a change… lol

Hahaha  I completely forgot about that stupid censoring. My God, if only psycho-mod and the “great asshat” could see us now. What do you think of the game so far? And let’s continue this convo in PM. I got a feeling a lot of people would be mad for derailing the thread.

This is one of those times when a company has a very short window to consider admitting they screwed up and fixing it or losing there game to internet riots and poor reviews.

Not being able to help your friends by trading with them in a community based game = time to find another game to play with friends.

It doesn’t solve anything. Player who wants to buy silver from goldsellers, will simply put a lvl 100 weapon from NPC on auction for around 2 mil silver (this is the cap). Goldseller will just buy that item, after having received the $$$ from player.

I’ll say it again. It doesn’t solve anything. Meanwhile, people who buy a token are restricted to 30 trades per month. If you’re socially active in MMORPG, you will reach the limit in less than 1 week. Then what?..

This is an MMORPG, not solo offline game. We want to trade with our friends without limits.

Want to fight against goldsellers? Do it in a way that doesn’t destroy the social features of your game.

As we know, we cant totally killed gold-seller if they wanna to make business…
But the main point is this limit features also killed the community players…

There’s the example of the nospam algorithm from iRO, but to duplicate and program something like that into ToS’s programming would take someone with intense technical knowledge, as well as socio-cultural, like what words to clean out “www” “3VV” “3W” “3w” “3vv”

I can’t think of any other word because we can’t include “com” because the censor would remove words like “comfort” or “combination” or whatever. And “MMO” can’t be included either because that’s what ToS is. What if someone wants to say “ToS is a great MMO”?

so add a monthly sub not this crap they have.

Not even being able to trade party members is one of the silliest ideas ever. Quests are harder to complete thanks to all the bugs with parties, that super bow will be stuck on your cleric for all the time unless you want to use your 1 auction house slot and that is IF it isn’t a bound item.
It is actually detrimental right now if you have friends in the game.

It really is a bad idea what one cant trade even party members, this needs to be adressed by IMC soon or they will loose players.

We cant help our friends out with gear or items, its a basic mmo function. Removing it wont stop the gold traders, they find a way around it. Not too mention the how appalling it is that even if you buy token, you only get limited trades per month. come on.

Nothing IMC cant do if this trade is been planned by developer…
If they open up trade and they will take away some other features as well, so in the end “player” always in the losing side…
Either you play or quit and let the “shut-down” sign shown…
That how “NEW MMO” is been made…
