Launcher update size

Hey folks, so here’s the thing.
Today July 29, 2018 :arrow_right: July 29, 2018 I just finished downloading the game through steam then started the launcher for updating.
Thing is, two hours have passed since it started updating and has already downloaded 1GB of data, but overall progress is at 22%.
So here’s my question, do I really have to download every single laucher update since the game came out like 4 years ago, which as it seems will give me an extra 4GB download, can’t these updates be sent to steam so that the steam download is also up to date saving us the trouble of having to download this extra chunk of data?

Is there another topic about this, or a official statement from IMC that I overlook?
If so forgive me for double posting.

it is a longstanding problem with IMC’s Steam release: they have “patch” folder in game’s instalation folder, but game does not use files in it to update client, so every time they update client you download that update twice - via Steam (goes into patch folder) and then via game’s launcher that download and applies it separately.

This creates 2 problems:

  1. Is the one you described - a fresh installation of the client or after you verify game’s files via steam you will have to download about 4GB+ of extra data to re-update client right after installation or verification.
  2. Client size bloating - that “patch” folder sits in your game folder and just eats extra 8GB of space.

Well, I wish I could hope for it to be fixed, at least for those who are going to come back or download the game for the first time, having to redownload something that is already in your folder and especially when it’s such a big amount of data is quite disheartening.
But given that it’s a problem that has been arround for so long I doubt it’ll ever be fixed.
Anyway thank you for the insight on the matter.

22% after two hours, that’s not bad… When I installed the game, I had to wait 36 hours before I was able to play.
