Lag Spike and Duping

There are several ways to dupe right now with the lag spikes.

You can when depositing stuff on the bank, when collecting anything from the market place, trading, buying, selling, using EXP card, assigning stats points, class points and etc.

If there’s a lag spike and there’s enough spam for the request it will most likely more than one request to be processed.

This is the first trick for duping anyone attempt on games, so the server lag and interface lag are very crucial for this.

Hope it gets fixed, because it will probally result in some wipes once it goes live.
Cheers!

so you’re telling us you assigned more than 1 stat point by clicking the button really fast? you sir are an idiot, and no you cannot dupe if you press stuff really fast, you’ll desync and the server will reset you back to the last valid state.

Oh you are very polite.

If there’s a huge lag spike and you send several requests it can happen that more than one will go trough. If you don’t know what you are talking about don’t be rude :smile:

I managed to duplicate itens on the storage, and managed to get extra points of stats when assigning it during heavy lag.

But thank you for your awnser.

As for increasing stats, you are aware that stats also increase by 2 instead of 1 at set intervals right? Such as 1-1-1-2-1-1-1-2-1-etc. Just want to be sure your taking that into account. (Or we’re ALL receiving extra stats via a bug. One or the other.)

As for duping items, I wouldn’t be surprised given the server lag has reached world record setting levels.

I’m aware of the bonus.

But the one stats point i had and the 10 extra int i got doesn’t count as bonus hehe.

But yeah it’s pretty common on games that not everything is server side that items dupe.
It happened alot on Ragnarok that had almost the same type of architeture and it’s the oldest trick in the book.

@lorenzo_couto

Yeah I 100% believe you now, as I was able to do it as well during a massive lag spike, as well as dupe items. On top of that seems 90% of the game is client side, with people able to modify their position via hex editor as well as other hacks starting to show up already.

I don’t know if the devs can fix their poor decisions and code in time for launch here, but if not I guess I’ll be forced to find a better made game, even if I do like how this one plays. Client-side mmos are the dumbest decision a developer can humanly make. It should be a crime.

@abyss9000

I think they went it the same decision they did on Ragnarok Online… most of that is also client side but in the end it was a pretty robust MMO and stuff didn’t usually got duped on official servers.

I think it will be some time until TOS gets released and since they have been trough the same problems RO had i guess they are thinking about it.
