KToS General Thread v5.0

huhuh it looks good, but i don’t think it can be equipped on rapiers T_T

In terms of equipping it,nothing prevents you to do so.
In terms of what to give up between fencer and matador vaivora to do so, eh…

Patience is a virtue
If they rush it lama may end up bad
Even if they don’t rush it lama may still end up bad :joy::joy::joy:

What you said was really too true. No matter how much they offer still design an absolutely failure tree of savior.

No
The pattern usually they make it too good, it become meta, haters complaints, it’s nerfed to nothing
Or
It’s too good during test, they call it unintentional or bug, nerf, then we got the bootleg version when it’s released so they can keep buffing it slowly in future and make everyone who love the class keep looking for it, or maybe sick of it

Developer notes on Lama and the new raid, I think.

Breaking down the information on Lama in the notes and video since this new class is rather big-brained (skill names are Google Translated):

TLDR Version:

  • Lama has separate reset mechanics on a gap-closer invincibility skill and a long cooldown burst skill
  • Has an auto-attack stack mechanic using Z and C buttons, each giving different stacks
  • 3 skills that change version depending on combinations of “Z and C stacks”, one version does more final damage when there are lesser targets while the other does more final damage in the reverse situation
  • Has a damage buff passive that stacks when enemies are nearby and goes down if hit, also has another buff to stop it from going down for some time + reduce damage OR reset gap-closer skill cooldown
  • An attribute that has a chance to give a buff to reset long cooldown burst skill upon the use of Lama skills
  • (Speculation) Lama Lvl 1 Vaivora probably buffs the final damage of the skills affected by Z and C auto-attack mechanics while its Lvl 4 effect increases the chance to proc the buff resetting your long cooldown burst skill.

Lama is a Martial Arts class with burst DPS skill class with quite a number of stack and reset mechanics to work with to maximize its damage and keep players busy.

Buffs:

image

  • "Body Strengthening" attribute accumulates stacks increasing Lama Final Damage when there are nearby enemies (up to 5), also reduces by 1 when you get hit (only 1 stack lost per 0.2s)

image

  • "Vipassana" buff stance to enable Lama skills + Lama Final Damage buff + Pain Barrier effect + changing Z and C basic attacks to Punch and Kick respectively
    • Has auto-attack stacking mechanics where Punch and Kick gives [Fist] and [Kick] stacks respectively (up to 4 each), and the effect of Lama skills change depending on the combination of these stacks

image

  • "Shamatha" resets these buff stacks (so these stacks are important), also has an art to recover 0.5% HP and SP per Fist/Kick stack

image

  • "Shedding" buff skill to reduce incoming damage and prevent “Body Strengthening” stacks from reducing for some time, has an art to reset to exchange damage reduction for “Leunggong” skill cooldown reset.

[Fist]/[Kick] mechanic:
Certain Lama skills have two names, both are the same skill but different versions will be used depending on certain [Fist]/[Kick] stack combinations with one version dealing more damage when less enemies are around and vice versa on the other. The skill icons of such skills also change accordingly depending on the skills available via stack combinations (No clue if exact amount of stacks is needed or if one can stack as much as possible before spamming first)

image

  • "Overcome/Leg Hanging"
    • 3 [Fist] 1 [Kick] = Overcome, attack enemies in front, does more final damage the less enemies there are
    • 1 [Fist] 3 [Kick] = Leg Hanging, attacks enemies in front of you in a cone, more enemies around you = more final damage

image

  • "Quick Kick/Mountain Smash"
    • 2 [Fist] 3 [Kick] = Quick Kick, attack targeted enemy, does more final damage the less enemies there are
    • 3 [Fist] 2 [Kick] = Mountain Smash, attacks nearby enemies, more enemies around you = more final damage

image

  • "Flying Kick/Surprise Kick"
    • 4 [Fist] 2 [Kick] = Flying Kick, flying kick to a location, does more final damage the more enemies there are
    • 2 [Fist] 4 [Kick] = Surprise Kick, teleports to target enemy and attack, more enemies around you = more final damage

Skills not affected by [Fist]/[Kick] mechanic:

image

  • "Leunggong" gap closer skill, has invincibility frames, cooldown reset with “Shedding” buff

image

  • "All-Powerful Strike" the extremely flashy attack in the Lama video, 60s cooldown burst

image

  • "Vipassana: Seizing the Opportunity" attribute gives a chance to proc “Muscle Movement Activation” buff upon the use of Lama Skills. During this buff, cooldown does not apply to “All-Powerful Strike” (if its already on cooldown, the cooldown is reset)

Lama’s Vaivora: Public Truth (?)

  • Lvl 1 effect:
    • +1 all Lama skills
    • Lama Tier 2 skills gain 33% Final Damage (probably refers to the 3 skills affected by [Fist]/[Kick] mechanic)
  • Lvl 4 effect:
    • "Muscle Movement Activation" proc rate increases by 26%
    • AKA more resets for “All-Powerful Strike” spam

Anytime we get something cool, we inevitably have to get a stinker to remind us that no fun’s allowed :tired:

That’s what I’m worried about, notes said that they will adjust the skill factors of other DPS Cleric classes as well …

This is what monk should have been.

Poor diev. and chaplain, going to limbo again…

it’s funny, Chaplain is unique class that has arts useless, IMC can fix it easily like an art when you active you lost AoE but your DMG grown up, but nooooo, “We hated chaplain and AA build, so be quiet, you will play this game like We want!”

and another uselless equip…
is a hell to get a good earring now is a belt? each patch new players have afraid to play ToS with massive equips…
Ichor, Goddness Equip, Vaivora, Status, Ark Stone, Accessory, Crown, Awakening, Enchantes, Transcendes, Enhance, Envolve, Arts, Boruta Seal, Gem, Aether Gem…
This game is not friendly, excesse content just scare the new players, well done IMC, you are act like want to break the game in next 6 month…

Continue ignore the player and you can close the game.
the players has a limit…

IMC made a class that basically had everything and every idea Monks ever wanted and asked for since ages old before IMC betrayed Monks that fateful day. Bare-handed stance, not holding weapon in combat, punching and kicking, punching auto-attack (kicking auto-attack is a welcomed extra), no weapon model on character, more kicks, a martial arts class that players can select with Monk, an actual working Pain Barrier buff and proper gap closers/mobility/I-frames for melee point-blank range classes, an actual combo system that’s not brainless Energy Blast or Double Punch spamming, a darn cool-looking finisher and more …

… AND, this time its actually implemented on the Cleric tree, not the Swordsman tree (third time’s the charm).

IMC could’ve went with whatever peace-loving lore Lama had and make the class pray.
IMC could’ve made Lama a full support class instead of a DPS.
IMC could’ve gone lazy and just make a buff 3rd-slot class.
IMC could’ve recycled and reused old assets for Lama just to save costs.
IMC didn’t need to go this hard and crazy for Lama, yet they did.

Yes, I’m beyond delighted by this new class. I don’t mind if it doesn’t do crazy damage, the playstyle just oozes so much style, insanity and pizzazz. :innocent:

PS: Yes, sorry I’m extremely hyped as heck, now the true suffering waiting for this class to come to IToS begins.

Exorcist and Inquisitor finally gets some attention which is nice, though it is suspicious how Chaplain is still sidelined now. Either IMC really forgot about Chaplain or the new belt accessory will give great things to auto-attack AKA that yellow line saying Ice Arrow (Unique) Skill Attack that gives a 10% chance to proc an ice arrow that damages and freezes for 3 seconds (probably more options like this, especially for auto-attack). Still, it sounds crap if Chaplain’s damage and potential is locked once again behind another equipment.

All that’s left is for IMC to retool the currently-underused Cleric Support classes and the tree will be on a new high.

Typical imc and clerics scenario:
Make it too good early on because they didn’t test properly, fans happy about it, people complain about it especially if it’s too good in pvp environment/leaderboard, imc nerf it to ashes, the class become utterly useless, class fans leave the game, imc repent themself by continue buff it superslowly hoping players coming back.

Can’t wait til lama get its first nerf
