KToS General Thread v5.0

The NRC (new, returnees and casuals) group was abandoned a while after re:build, IMC just gave up on them. Removing silver was just a hit more but the fact is that the game demands NRCs to commit just to have a chance of enjoying the game content, there’re other options to have fun (many for free) without that investment in action RPGs (ToS isn’t an MMO after all) and other games from any other genre.

Along that the bot issue is a consequence of the direction of heavy stat combat with minimum decision making. It’s a simple logic, as long as the game allows you to farm efficiently by mindlessly throwing AoE skills in a rotation just because your stats are high enough (and doesn’t need to be that high) people will be able to write a script for that. Games need players to make decisions so they can punish or reward their actions, which is something that simple scripts can’t do.

“But hold on, the real challenge of the game is found within raids and [insert new instance type].”. Great, how long can you go only doing these? They’re all limited entry content, you could sell whatever valuable you get from these if you’re lucky enough but at the end of the day the only consistent option to make money is through mindless content (which also applied to field farming).

There’s not even a point on asking the community for help because the players that are really invested in the game would likely throw all NRC under a bus to avoid the game structure to change at all, and few other options would be as “effective” as removing field silver. There’re few RNC or retired players that still hang onto the forums and IMC would likely dismiss their opinions as these are unpopular.

By that time the person already quit because of ‘you are not geared enough’ discrimination and burn out from endless farming.

But it’s okay, the strongest weapon of any player is cc…

true, still the karaline is still more expensive than all other piece of equipment you have on body combined (INCLUDING vaivora level 2) that make it discouraging to even thought at it.

In my opinion, Karaliene/Luciferi existing is not a problem, they give hardcore players something to grind for. What is a problem is the lack of alternatives to these accessories…

I’d love to have the option of crafting cheap lvl430 legend accessories that gave me nothing but Int+Con+Crit rate, for example. I can live without triukas force wave, thanks.

But unfortunately, you either no-life for Karaliene/Luciferi, or keep using outdated gear. Which in turn won’t allow you to run the hard mode relic dungeon, as it requires you to have lvl430 accessories to enter. By itself that is not a problem, but it sets the precedent that future content will require karalienes to enter…

And no, the incomplete Karalienes do not help much with this issue. They still need archstones, even if they are half the cost of normal Karalienes.

It is sad that all the more casually inclined content is time gated- particularly Uphill and dungeons.

I always wished they’d stop scraping old content or unused content like Rainbow Trek. The rewards were bad but if people want to do it, why not? And not like it would be much effort to multiply the rewards to keep up with the times.

With current skills that one hit everything, this is easily abusable without time-gate. Write some script and just run the program, or just use keyboard macro spam keystroke. Uphill Very Hard now become ‘no need brain’ level. DG like castle mission can be completed in 2min per run just by running around and few hit on boss. People with 20 alt would love this kind of easy farm. These content also the least updated content in tos. Tbh, player usually either become too weak or too strong with all tos content.

I mean I wasn’t suggesting you couldn’t make macros for that content. My concern is for how little content in the game caters to the cute/casual crowd that want to socialize, do light content, and collect cute outfits. That used to be a substantial chunk of the population but is a minute percentage now.

Huh? You guys are dropping arch frags?

It only took 9 months of daily CM/DS to finally drop a single vvr.

cmon guys its jewelries, its supposed to be expensive
dont you know that arch stone can buy a country?
then you havent complete steam achievement.
with full karaliene/luciferi sets you technically owner of 4 countries :haha:

That part is actually still in the game and is what is keeping Ktos just above profit margins. The collection part has been consolidated into gambling cubes and the minute population you are referring to actually spend thousands every month to casual participate.

December’s Hope to Development Team, feels rather bloated this week considering they’re planning to make this a weekly thing.

December Hope to Development Team

Isn’t this a problem with Joint Strike Raid?

[The user is concerned that almost all of the ranked parties for Joint Strike are less than 5 people.]

In order for the top five player parties to have more individual rewards per-person than the lower ranking parties with less people, the top ranking parties would need to have overwhelming rewards provided to them. The development team believes that would be contrary to the idea of trying to attract participation by providing a more equal reward to everyone that attempts Joint Strike. Having less than 5 people can be seen as a strategy in order to be more efficient. However, at the time of this suggestion being made, the required minimum damage in order to rank was determined to be too low (100 million), and it has since been increased to 1 billion. We will continuously monitor this going forward and make changes if needed.

Automatic Matching (Can’t change equipment)

We applied various equipment restrictions and the inability to swap equipment for automatic matching to ensure that the various users a person will get matched with, who will be random, will have achieved the suggested equipment restrictions and can easily obtain the rewards from the content to an extent. Achieving higher gameplay performance through specific build and equipment combinations can be done through the normal mode (non auto-matching), which can be called higher or more difficult content, so the development team is satisfied with restricting equipment in this way in auto matching.

Nevertheless, we will take care to ensure we prevent a situation where the rewards from auto-matching become too large, making it situation where the content that prevents equipment swapping becomes the only way to play.

Reverse the order you obtain the benefits from Vaivora weapon level 3 and 4.

Vaivora level 4 bonuses were set based on the fact that the effects require a long time to obtain. A lot of items are required to reach level 4, but most of them are provided through content that any user can complete (challenge mode, division singularity, auto-matching raids), so the rewards play a big role in making sure these contents are worth participating in. There are currently no plans to offer the current level 4 Vaivora bonuses at level 3 instead. We are sorry this is not the answer you are looking for.

Please allow us to disassemble Luciferie.

Luciferie accessories are the current final accessories, so they require a very high cost to obtain. However, if you want to change your build, they cannot be sold if their potential is at 0. We are planning a system that will allow you to exchange the accessories. The exact details and timing have not been set in stone yet, but we will prepare to add it as soon as possible.

On the other hand, in the case of Vaivora level 4 weapons, it is easy to trade the ichors, but since there are so many different types of them compared to accessories, the average demand of most individual Vaivoras is small, so it is often difficult to have the trade cost be anywhere near the cost of actually creating it to begin with. As such, we are developing a system that will allow you to change the type of a level 4 Vaivora. However, since Vaivora weapons drop randomly, changing your weapon to a specific targetted Vaivora will require a specific quantity (currently undecided) of them in order to get what you want.

Create a field area where PVP is always active.

We are planning to improve PVP content as one of the top updates to work on this year. There is a system planned that is similar to this suggestion, but since maintaining the currently existing PVP contents is a priority, we will provide you an update on it once we have a detailed roadmap in place. Thanks for the good suggestion.

Yeah, sure…still have to find a single vaivora from challenges and singularities, and i usually do at least 7 challenges per day, and that’s without using vouchers. Had to farm in fields to find the few vaivoras i’ve ever got, else i would still be here waiting.
Funny reading they take for granted people do drop them from those contents. Completely out of touch as usual.

They could have implemented a territorial system to secure farming rights.

Guild Wars allow us to do Boruta. Why not have something similar that lets Guild secure farming spots?

There’s so many better ways to resolve this instead of taking a DICTATOR approach.

The fact they just REMOVED SILVER without speaking / communicating with the player base before making a change just shows they dont give a dammn.

The problem wasn’t that they removed silver, it’s that they didnt implement any reasonable
alternatives for new or casual players that relied on field farming to get gear just as much as the bots relied on it for rmt.

so swordies wont be kings of pvp anymore? xd

(I edited it quite a few times, but my point is the very same)
I still think this is just the beginning of a very long journey.

They also could have answered this with something like “we want to remove swap, but it would be very unpopular, so we are limiting its use for every content we do from now on until we can remove it and nobody notices” and the message would be the very same.
Swordsmans, Scouts and Summoners cry in the corner.

Vaivora level 4 is suppose to be the apotheosis of any TOS player. It seems to be the very last thing you want to get in your build (unless you are unlucky as hell with archstone droping, like myself), so I get IMC’s point.
But I need to understand how expensive they really are. Or how much grind they require. After you get the Vaivora level 2, of course.

…Ok, that is new.
Disassembling Arks can be understandable, when they release a new DPS one (or the Healing one) every big patch, but Luciferie? I mean, for you to actually want to change your Luciferie to another one, you want to change your main’s tree, and not only their build (unless you are cleric or summoner, but that is another beast). If they give us a way to do that exchange, it would be good, I guess, but only few players are going to use it in the end. And the same thing about the Vaivora level 4 exchange.

Guild-mates are already making jokes with “fighting pits” and similar ideas. Funny, but let’s wait and see what they are preparing for us, because that is not what we are getting.

Anyone know stats of Robo dog?

Another absurd change. Boss mechanics already do 600-700k damage, not mentioning the stupid gimmicks you need to avoid… I don’t think on Fedi more than 5-6 parties do 1 billion each time, sometimes a bit more depending on the boss. This means only people with full endgame equipment will be able to participate, giving the rewards again to the same people. Instead why not only allow parties of 5…

Really? Do you even play your own game? The normal mode is ten times easier since you can choose your party! And you can participate even if you don’t have your impossible to get 430 accessories!

When you don’t even have a Vaivora, speaking of level 4… gimme a break… When you play some hours and see a Vaivora drop like every 2-3 hours on a whole server and it’s always the same sword or dagger no one uses… Oh yeah I forgot… you can use the fusion feature to make another useless dagger out of 3 vaivoras if you want. There are dozens of vv now and getting the one you need is near impossible, when are you going to give a vv cube instead where you can actually choose the vv you want???

Some people have disassembled their brain in seems…

Isn’t friendly duel already enough?
