KToS General Thread v5.0

played lost ark was fun to do everything for the first time, then it’s the good old same grind, tried FF14, too slow, then stopped playing mmo’s all together. played elden ring, was good.

just doing weekly content with friends in VC since then, any game is fun with friends but they are mostly uninteresting in solo play.

Don’t forget. Kim Hakkyu never care about it and who is RO’s father.

Hakkyu kim dont care bout tos pc, all he care know is restore his fame with tos mobile

Played FFXIV, got three legend titles and several savage raids down week 1~2. Played Lost Ark to test it out, and i tend to switch to single player games a lot to refreshen up my schedule or try recommended games.

I know its possible you might be surrounded by people who have really bad gaming habits and this might be why it gives you that impression. But you can play a game just because you want

Returned a couple months ago, and been having fun catching up some gear and theorycrafting new builds. Already on a position i can say i’m ok slowing down, and the game seems ok compared to many other mmorpg i’ve played decades ago, its just a bad season for mmorpg in general and not much we can do about that.

On December 27th, Nexon is terminating their contract as publisher of Tree of Savior in Korea and transferring publishing rights to IMC Games. KTOS will be published through Steam. Players can transfer their accounts to the new platform.

Specific details: 트리 오브 세이비어

Hunter rework landed in live servers. Rework of companion system, new skills, attributes, and a Vaivora weapon “Companion Lover”:

Vaivora
+1 skill levels of Hunter
+25% HP to active companion
If companion dies, instantly resurrect it with 50% HP (cooldown 40 sec)
Level 4 Vaivora: +30% final damage of Hunter skills

That’s a huge step in the right direction, no? I’ve always felt like Nexon were responsible for changing nearly every element of the game into a complete gacha cash grab like they’ve been known to do with every other game Nexon touched. I don’t know the exact time period Nexon took over but I can make a few guesses as to when.

Nexon has been publishing Tree of Savior in Korea since the beginning.

There are a lot of opinions on both sides of the fence.

The changes on the game was not affected by nexon position as publisher.

Itos published by imc itself and we see almost the same marketing decisions made for ktos.
What changes the game was their involvement in development.

Nexon have big share in imc games since like 2017 and without no doubt they have their men involved in imc games to shaping ktos which is one of the biggest culprit to the game failure

To make it worse Ktos is pretty much every tos base game, so anything made for Ktos will likely come to itos including the bad decisions.
So, even if they stop publishing ktos, most likely they won’t stop take parts in shaping the game.

Unless nexon sell their shares (tho i doubt they will benefit from it, cause it was basically bad investment move), nexon stop snooping around tos development, we may see another changes of development path

Although, it’s still very unlikely that it will bring game any good given the game reaching it’s end of lifetime state where most of latest development path being made is just to milk quick money with little to no improvement and substantial content. It was mostly just gimmick updates, cute costumes, gacha, and probably 10% of real goodies out of em all.

Well, didn’t see your reply there

Idc bout your mmo history or habit man, I was talking about real tos remnant of player

And in my book remnant of players are those who stick their a55 to the game for who know how long, they who manage to bear with imc bs management, they who paid for most of Itos life support state, they who only take short hiatus, they who if you get back from another hiatus you will see them still active playing with all the most relevant stuffs

Like e.g that mr blue bird there who been hiatus for long doesn’t even categorized under remnant of player

You are pretty much mmo hopper like me or simply say returner
Among like 400 ish player base there probably just half or even quarter of true remnant of players while the rest are just comes and goes by

Me reading your post

this is like another time when hakkyu kim recently said in discord relic lv 20 is never gonna come to itos and here we are lol
this game “things are subject too change” is way too deep

In my opinion, it was a necessary move to facilitate the balancing of things or else they would need to calibrate the contents to relic 10.

I still think that relics were a mistake that made the game go into a full burst mode with madatory huge grind.

They did made a good choice putting the materials on the Gabija shop tho.

Lots of mixed feelings.

KR Nexon dropping ToS when they also publish DN which is deader is funny to me.

Aw, no new posts for a while. I really miss this thread!

KToS is more or less on life support since the Steam Server transfer. There’re many reports that they have the same lag/unstability problems we’ve had for the longest time. So there’s nothing new or of significance coming to KToS for a while.

They know our pain now (?

Another game in the mmorpg graveyard :tired:

Luckily it’s not that bad – check the TOS Discord. The forums have half a foot in the grave but the Discord is still pretty active thankfully

Not an expert on Discord invites so I dunno if this will expire but here it is

Good or bad is pretty subjective. Idk if i can call a server with less than a hundred player an mmorpg, just massive multiplayer role playin game, especially when i spent most content alone.
The closest the game give mmo vibe is during gtw and thats only once a week. The rest of contents makes the game more like solo indie game.
