I’m open to the new ARTS system as long as it’s not forgotten like hidden skill interactions, overkills, etc.
It’s clear though that we will have to deal with balance issues once again with this system, so the strong will stay strong and the mediocre will stay mediocre unless there’s ways to customize this system in some way. Let’s wait for an official translation on the blog post. I’d really like this to be something that makes you theorycraft and play around for weeks and months on end, which I think this game is lacking.
There’s a code that caps that expression at 1. And actually, your damage grows exponentially the more attack you have till it hits 1, then it grows linearly. It is increasing defense that has diminishing returns. But yeah I basically just highlighted why Crit Atk sucks even more.
It ignores defence before rebuild (added as final dmg, doesn’t scale with SFR). Now in exchange with scaling with SFR, it is affected by def. Initially during rebuild, it may be quite OP if it ignored defence. And this refers to before rebuild goes live; the very first ktest patch of rebuild where SFR are so low and mob defence are much higher before they scaled it down in live rebuild. And further since then, lots of skill factors also increased to pretty much pre-rebuild stage, which completely moots the point of the change and hence Crit Atk should be just like prebuild: Ignore DEF, doesn’t scale with SFR.
But even in the circumstances that Crit Atk still needs to be affected by def, it’s just simply absolutely retarded to have a formula where the factor it is subjected to is the same as the factor which your atk is subjected to, and atk is what it is always under direct competition with (str vs dex, red vs yellow gem). Just this retarded idea alone is deserving to get whoever in charged of this fired.
Don’t think you truly understand the current formula. What you said is true for pre rebuild Crit Atk formula. At the current formula, the speed of your attack completely doesn’t affect whether Crit Atk becomes more useful.
As a plus the way the formula is right now, when you “double” your attack you practically quadruplicate the final damage output because you are cutting the damage reduction by half(less if attacking someone with normal levels of defense) and duplicating the brute damage output. And the way health is harder to scale its becoming a nightmare for any class that don’t have heal or burst/cc. In Other words, rip Tanks. That’s how i see the actual formula and i can be wrong. Also the 0.9 is actually a nerf for defense in the end.
For comparison:
0.2474/0.1469= 1.6841
So comparing a double on your damage you actually get 3.37x the damage with 11k attack.
And to show how defense falls behind:
attack= 22k / defense = 70k
Damage = [SFR](1.522000 + [critical attack])*0.1469 + [stuff]
Back to the reduction when it was 11k attack and 35k def, but you will still get the 2x the damage.
Defense doesn’t fall behind man, it’s cool to talk about math and formulas but the reality is different than on paper. If defense wasn’t a factor at high values, i wouldn’t be using Peltasta on my Doppel to pvp and survive other people’s attacks.
I have 22k+ Physical attack, and trying to kill people with 110k+ defense becomes very hard on PvP, specifically Gem feud, and that’s without factoring Block + pvp/damage reductions.
Tanks shouldn’t be defined by the amount of defense they have, but the amount of kit their class provides to reduce damage instead, like the new High Guard.
That bad it is, that IMC had to address that 2H weapons are literally falling behind and nobody wants to use it on PvP scenarios, cause you get rekt.
And some people will tell you to “get gud” and run on a f*cking Pelt-Reti-Rode or Murmillo to PvP, like if somebody gave a single ■■■■ about 1H sword/spear + Shield or #meta.

They need to tone up 2H weapons attack and make it more appealing for PvP.
But what is the purpose? New animation/gimmick or whatnot? I am personally rooting for master classes, I hope atleast a class’ signature skill will have a different animation or whatever…
To re-introduce assets that already exist in the game as new content in the form of skill books, IMC be copy-pasting Katadikazo and Dragon Fall into every other skill now or something …
Jkjk, I’m just hoping this isn’t the only thing that’ll change things playstyle-wise.
I am excited to see what the books will do to support skills, I hope to see the old heal cells back.
So far I am not impressed by the skill visual effects, mostly because it’s recycled from already existing skills, I hope that at least the functionality will be different and somewhat original.
One thing that may have improved are the lack of area of effect on some classes seems that everything showed so far have a decent area.
Also they adding this art system not only to existing skills but to armor mastery too is great,
IDK if the google translate is accurate but +10% m-damage and (character level x 0.2%) chances to resist level 3 debuff are insane. I hope that they at least provide us the option to Exchange our armor-type like they did to weapons on re-build.
They won’t get any, since they’re in the pool of forever forgotten classes like alchemist, quarrel shooter, pied piper, paladin, chaplain and centurion.
Exorcist will probably get 5-6, though while god smash gets an additional weekly +1000% skill factor buff.
When I first came around to the master class idea, I thought they’d do something similar to the multiple falling Meteors or something… similar to that I guess?

From the looks of the video, they pretty much just threw pyromancer skills onto every class.

just me or the best changes are they are going to end transcendence and enhancement system of armor and weapons, w8ing for the official Crevox translations xD
I think he misunderstood the part when they say they will not release more legend equipment because of the stress caused on players who need to enhance, transcend, etc every episode they release.
I hope so, because I just made my perfect velcoffer set and I am not excited to invest on the new savinose/varnas from zero, they need to fix this equipment progression.
