KToS General Thread v4.0

I would prefer they put any upcoming classes on r7 and below. Too much tired and bored about new “rank 8 classes” in this game. It’s time to give more options to the lower ranks. I would love to have tons of options on rank 2, 3, 4 and 5, but… I can only dream!

I agree, but there are still a few needed R8 classes, (a Two Handed Sword class that’s not hidden or Doppel for example).

Yes! My wishlist for the next R8 classes is:

Swordie: 2H sword class (even better if it’s a mounted class to appease ROfags and their Knight nostalgia)
Archer: ground companion class (Beast Master archetype or Puppeteer)
Cleric: defensive/taunt/tank class (to expand Paladin’s role)
Wizard: spellsword class (why can Wizards equip 1H swords when there are no classes that effectively use it?)

I tested out one game a few years ago that the magical class used swords to cast their spells. It was something chinese-like, with foxes (can’t remember name).

Didn’t like the game, but that concept of different classes using swords was really nice (like magical swords were mainly thin and medium size, then Physical attackers had bigger ones).

Guild Wars 2 added a sword specialization for elementalists (the closest equivalent to our wizards) on its last expansion and, despite some balancing issues at launch, it is a very fun playstyle. Before that, they also had other mages using 2h swords to cast magic bolts (Mesmer, if you are interested in checking that out).

I hope we can someday see something similar here. Maybe a class with stances like daino, that change our melee attacks to different elemental magic?

These stances on the swordsman tree seems possible to exist here.

Like some endows to change/add elemental property to attacks, plus skills that would benefit from it. But I guess no holy/dark, sadly.

This one would help a lot to fix Hunter problems, I hope. Maybe not as one r8, but a hidden class.

Getting Luchador would be kind of nice.
I feel like it would probably go well with Nak, and make Nak look less out of place on Swordies.
I’m really curious to see whatever Puppeteer is going to be too…

If it’s not gonna be a ground version of falconner then no. Why would you want hunter 2.0 when the current hunter is still a mess (completely because of AI).

If a centurion could have a child with a pied piper and have the mice go in formations around you for effects, then that would make a great companion class. Otherwise we just get a class with the same problems hunter has.

maybe you forget Hakapelle then? The real mounted swordman ~ Knight but in Archer tree

Always been a fan of mounted units, some ideas…

Troubadour (cleric) - w/ long range healing and buff spells that scales on matk, can use two hand staff…
Valkyrie (wizard) - magic knight in wizard tree, maybe have chrono related synergy like cataphract and lancer

As expected, Sage gets the old Frost Pillar in R10. It looks like it deals huge damage when it’s cast then the black hole remains in the field for a few seconds pulling enemies in (a Seedmia is pulled at the end of the gif), but they don’t take damage. Will it have an attribute to deal continuous damage, perhaps?

I hope they fix the name of the skill though. It isn’t Hole of Darkness, but Black Hole.

I hope lancer get a good aoe skill!
A new 2h sword cls is needed badly but i dont like lunchador …
I stoped playing doppel when r9 comes because i dont like shinobi>.>

I do hope they make it powerful as a rank 10 skill. A good dps is given but since it’s an aoe, it won’t be the best dps against single targets. Honestly I didn’t notice the pulling effect in the end of the GIF but if they ever do give it some, give it a huge radius with increasing pull effect and dps the closer it is to the center where enemies are just directly sucked to the middle when they reach a certain distance threshold (same distance as when damage is 80% max).

It would be nice if the suction is as big as toyou’s radius but a very slow suction at the fringes, increasing when its close to the center (where the dps is) just so that sages can call in mobs aggro from a distance. But seeing the GIF again, it might be a less gimmicky skill and just straight up ultimate dimension with a suction effect.

Been sending energy bolts with sword ever since I found wizard blade. Sadly, those sword do not give any magic atk stat. Its just you waving a sword for energy bolts.

What that class could be is Thaumaturge. Ever since I found them, I want them to be the ‘Muscle is Magic’ class. Big hands, big head, simply perfect. If only they can rework transpose so that it will invert int to other stats instead (Int->str ->dex) similar to transmit prana and an attribute to invert atk-matk. If this ever happen. Dagger wizard will come back as a sword-wielding wizard. Just full on enchant buffs, chronomancer attack speed and enchanter’s lightning hands as your main damage source

Oops! Actually, I think I’m wrong. The Seedmia at the end of the gif spawned near the Black Hole, it wasn’t pulled in. Boo hoo if the skill is only Micro/Ultimate Dimension on steroids.

So what about pied piper? Did the Koreans fit it properly in any build or is it just a waste of two ranks?
