KToS General Thread v3.0 LOL

The only viable builds for Oracle atm are C2>Krivis3>Oracle3>Taoist and C2>Bokor3>Oracle3>X.
X can be anything, because honestly Bokor C3 is enough to burst your way through the enemy hordes, especially with Damballa+Effigy+ Death Sentence.

I guess I’m going for KabbalistC1 on my Bokor Oracle since I want to see that multiplied Twist of Fate from Rank 10 onwards(Death Sentence+Double Chance+Twist of Fate = x times damage cap). And Gebura also nicely compliments with Damballa so there’s no problem going this way, Bokor can provide for the poor Kabbalist soul all along(also, thanks to Ein Sof I’ll be finally free from using pots, it’s gruesome how many pots an INT-based Bokor/Oracle uses xD).

Anyway, any news about the new instanced dungeon cubes and card drop rates from them?
It could become significantly harder to level up cards after all if the rates to get shadowgaler/necroventer cards from cubes (since you can’t reroll them)
on the first opening of the cube are the same as currently.

How’s the ktos community take on Zealot? The more I try Zealot in ktest the more OP I find it is. The damage is too much especially how easy immolation gets tagged onto the monsters and how insignificant the self burn damage is compared to the power the skill gives.

The problem with bracelets and necklaces is that there will always be cheap higher level ones but they’ll never be worth using because they’ll just give magic resistance and like SPR or something compared to the staple accessories that have been the most used since forever because they just give better stats even though they’re lower level. So even if they add new white and blue accessories they won’t be worth using. Of course they tried to fix this by adding those Hethran accessories as a sort of okay-but-not-great semi-common higher level alternative, but… considering how annoying they were to get it just isn’t even worth it since you could just spend that time farming items/silver to trade for a better accessory. New Hethran accessories are just going to have the same ■■■■■■■ problem since tier 2s are so time consuming to farm already and you’ll need tier 2s to craft tier 3s (which will presumably be even more time consuming to farm on top of requiring the tier 2 version)

I still got an ipf error on ktest is there any fix or have to wait for proper fix from imc?

  • have to wait for proper fix…

on ktos
lol it seem imc potato code can’t handle challenge mode massive spawn

The AI is such a disaster they don’t bother to do anything but mass spawn, killing build diversities, it’s such a waste.

that was part of the KR “RNG item and Lv360” patch event. had to collect monster medals on new maps.
maybe we get it with that patch too.

Same here… ipf error… there was a little patch it seems today which caused it… I hope they fix it soon

It’s not OP till you consider how high the damage is consistently. I like to break spells down into matk/patk per second… Well immolate only has 10 second down time every 61 seconds (1 second cast time)… 10 second duration onto the 40 second buff on the character gives it 50 out of 61 second uptime.

Immolate 423.77 patk per second, .82 hits per second. (hits are important because of buff damage)

Now lets compare that to some of the easy to math wizard spells.

Lv5 Frost Cloud: 128 matk per second .39 hits per second (18 hits 327% matks, 46 second CD including cast time)
Lv15 Electrocute: 85 matk per second .28 hits per second (35.3 CD including cast times with quickcast, assuming perfect animation cancel)
Lv5 Demon Scratch: 56 matk per second .02 hits per second (41.1 CD including QC cast time)

Those 3 bread and butter Wizard spells only add up to 269 matk per sec, .69 hits per second.

This way you kind of get an idea on just how imbalanced immolate is. It is apples to oranges in some ways since you can use Pass on Wizards and get a big return. But it gives you a very clear idea of the problem with this spell. And how easy it is to apply with PLD’s new hit on touch barrier. So yeah it’s very broken especially if you’re standing still in an area and things are coming at you… And that math is done without considering targets coming at you… Immolate/barrier has no target limit… All those wizard spells I used for example do have a target limit (cept maybe scratch I’m not so sure, I just wanted to include it to show how much of a piece of garbage it is, even if it looks cool).

For me in evaluating a spell besides the damage per second I also consider the ease of use, spread of spell (how easy it is to apply to enemies) and additional effects it grants.

For additional effects, Immolation when attributed (not counting the damage%) it grants a further +1000 fire elemental prop damage and a hefty 1k+ fire elemental resistance.

The ease of use coupled with high damage returns is what make it look like some skill end game final bosses use. It spreads via almost every kind of hits, minus statues/zombies/converted mobs/taoist exploding talismans. Plague Doctor’s dots trigger and refresh it with every tick. Stormcalling spreads it area wide with its big area of effect.

This is by far the easiest to use 5k% attack I’ve ever seen for ToS. Just a mere touch the monster gets a 5170% (lv10 Immolation with lv0 dmg% attribute) total damage over 10secs. It is physical so it crits too, and yes Stormcalling increases its damage by 50% too due to being physical.

Sometimes I do think that skill damage like this skill need to be reevaluated fast before many players spec into it and get hit by a nerf bat later. Video above has entry level gear of patk of 1.7k+, averaging 2k patk with Divine Stigma’s buff.

Immolation should just add the extra damage on top of each hit instead of it being a debuff, and probably should also only apply to melee/physical attacks and when hit.

It is actually how I thought the skill worked before I saw it in action, and would make more sense to it being the most likely class to follow up after monk.

Hmmm no idea

Oracle c3 - druid1

But would be better if it were Oracle c2 - Druid2

Need rank 10 to be able to perma transform to changed monsters it would be cool

Paladin c3 - oracle c3 can exist now, but no idea how new conversion, I mean turn undead, is now and how good it is

ya there is not much for oracle

Bokor c3 - oracle c3 - macumbiero if its bokor-like or fortune teller if it’s oracle like

But that’s a longggg wait

No good builds for oracle c3 ;-;

Yeah… I think if we had a damage parse tool Zealot as it stands would be one of the top contributing classes and likely the top for solo AoEing period for any fights greater then a min.

It’s kind of the same problem I see with Enchanter. Cooldown classes have to devote most or all of their ranks to casting. And then they are getting blown away by the consistent high DPS of lightning hands and immolation. Which means more build flexibility on top of just being overall better.

I… think… later as the game develops it will become less of a problem as mastery class ranks and more high damage casted spells/abilities can be picked up on the same character. Right now it’s just scary because most classes have these dead zones or heavy dips in their DPS. We use chrono to prop them up for groups but outside of it… Meh.

I think right now… It needs to be nerfed… And later down the road as the cooldown dependent DPS catch up to the sustain DPS skills they could get rebuffed.

They don’t even need to have good AI to have more diverse mobs, but they lack the creativity and drive to work around it.

Well is clear the only forums IMC reads are the KR ones…

Anyone could please link me the ktos news that said transcending will require less gems after patch? Please cant find it… anyone? Thanks!

I think it is only for armor, but not weapon

To quote myself:

Yes, it’s actually only affecting armor, not weaponry.
