Rune Caster and Kabbalist ended up the big winners of this last patch. Their buffs are really impressive. Rune Caster is a much better functioning DPS burst class now. Rune of Destruction was already strong, and now they’ll receive it 50% faster than prior. Rune of Justice’s change is huge, and makes it a real force to be reckoned with with holy property and overheat. Wizard C3 - Elementalist C3 - Rune Caster C1 was a very popular build in KR early on, because of misinformation about Rune of Ice working on Frost Cloud and hope that R8 would have non-deployment ice magic. This should greatly assist those who have that build there, if they didn’t class reset out of RC.

Edit: Somewhat news to me and it was seldom mentioned in places, but it seems that you can cast Rune Caster skills now while under the effect of Rune of Giants. If you don’t know what Rune of Giants does, it straight up doubles your HP, physical defense, and magical defense during it’s duration. The cooldown was also reduced from 300s (6 minutes) to 120s (2 minutes). Thanks to @Gwenyth for clarifying this below.

Kabbalist’s change from what I understand turns Merkabah into a damage over time skill as it passes through enemies, with up to 50 hits per wheel at level 5, or 60 hits per wheel at level 6 through Divine Might. If the note is accurate, this skill is going from a 6 hit skill (at level 6) to a 360 hit skill, which is insane.

Obviously you’ll need Merkabah C2 in order to facilitate getting the maximum number of hits per wheel before they zoom past targets, however with that attribute and Falconer’s Aiming skill it has potential to be one of the strongest DPS skills in the Cleric’s arsenal.

The other changes are pretty mint too. Good to see classes like Wugushi getting some love. The change to Elementalist’s Meteor also makes it a pretty good filler skill that can afford to be leveled since it’s more conducive to use with the lower cooldown and cast speed attribute at level 10.

To be honest, i was surprised to see the rune caster mentioned at all. But i can say that i’m very happy about this style of patch notes this week with them having comments on abilities and what their views are on them as well as attempting to address the changes.

I’d like to see this style continued in the future too.

I Know Corsair is a party based class and all…

But you’re telling me Jolly Rogers whole deal is boosting an attack type that they won’t have access to until C3?
Meh.

Those Valentine’s Day costumes look nice.
