KS has to stop!

it’s like archers can’t not ks linkers like they see a link and their hand gets posessed and they’re like it’s my time this link was made for me

95% of the time an archer strolls past I get this strong moment of clarity knowing they’re going to shoot LMAO. 50% of the time it’s for fun, as I can see they ignore all the similar unlinked mobs around us.

As a solo support mage I’ve tried to party up but people are usually already in party or refuse because they already blazed through the map by oh ho ksing.

I honestly understand ksing sometimes with very low spawns, but what I don’t understand is when people ks you when they obviously do not need the mob. Or get defensive and refuse to stop ksing when someone speaks up about it laughs

Oh those poor C3 wizards, don’t you have any understanding for them? You can’t determine where the magic missile hits and it accidentally hitting the somewhat nearby group of mobs do happen. Especially with crowded maps.

Also what is it with the people being unsocial and wanting to solo only, and still picking the support class, and then coming to forum to cry about it? It’s like that other thread where someone playing on melee class was crying about knockbacks and it turned out he just didn’t want to dodge at all or use the CC skills to prevent it from happening.

I’ve probably said this before on this very same thread: I’m not supporting the idea of anyone harassing other players and stalk them only to KS their mobs. And I personally spare clerics at least, and usually others too if there’s free mobs available elsewhere on that map.

The competition of mobs is often a game design (although I think there are way too few mobs on some maps) and it’s supposed to make the grinding more exciting. You find this on majority of mmorpgs, especially the old school ones which this game tries to revive. There’s no point for anyone having to fear if it’s okay to kill some mob when there are other players on that same area, because someone might get upset about it and report it. This kind of rule of forbidding KSing won’t be coming, the GMs/Staff will probably just state that if someone harass you, then send a support ticket and it gets taken care of individually.

Too much care bearing suggestions and I might link a hurt feelings report. You’ve had my warning now, I’m serious about it

I’m rly tired of this. Playing support Linker and when i link mobs ppl comming from nowhere and ks’ing you. u0u"

I really like how combat in Aura Kindom works. You only need to hit the mobs once and get full exp, drops and even quests from them while you are still in a specific area near them. Why don’t they just use this method and then KS is no longer a problem?

This would enable power leveling for players, and for bots, and I think that wouldn’t be too good or desirable feature to have.

Well… another way would be to just make the kill count shared by everyone that actually hits the enemies… this could encourage leeching in some situations but until now i’ve seen enemies die so fast that i don’t think that would actually be an issue… and probably it would be the lesser of the two evils anyway.

Of course changes should be made about bosses tho.

after many complains to people that KS me I finally got someone to say sorry
First one in about 50 people that I tried to explain to that KS is rude

There’re players telling us to join the kser but I play wizard, and in fact I have to give up the adventure journal’s kill count when partying since the count doesn’t count for me, I can’t last hit the mobs faster than them. Killing dozens of the same mobs doesn’t change the numbers much.
I’m not blaming them though, some of them are not bad people, they just think it’s normal to ks [it’s understandable - but not acceptable - to think like that when you see a lot of people ksing]. Maybe it’s my lack of skill ^^’

Many of them are probably used to other games that reward players for jumping into a fight to help someone, like Elder Scrolls Online; every player that deals at least one hit to a mob gets EXP and loot. IMC didn’t have the foresight to do that, or perhaps didn’t wish to make it like that. Instead, they’ve nurtured an environment where it’s almost required to steal the finishing blows away from others.

The adventure journal is a good example of that- they could have made the kill count increase any time you did damage to a mob that was killed by one of your party members, and that would’ve discouraged members of the same party from competing for kills. Parties would be able to focus more on working as a cohesive unit, and solo players would have more of a reason to join one.

These KSing players need to adapt, though. This game is obviously not like others that reward “helping” in a fight, so they need to show some restraint if they expect to join a guild, or have any success making decent friends to play with. I can’t imagine KSing everyone they see will earn them any goodwill.

Without the current set-up of the battle system, how could we grow up and become a big boys and girls, form a guild, and start waging war on each other?

Guild warring is endgame. The journey to endgame is designed to make us all spiteful toward each other, till it gets to the point where we all end up driving our swords down each others’ throats, shoving our maces up each others’ backsides, poking our magic rods into each others’ eyes, and jamming whatever else we have into any other orifices we can think of.

Therefore, KSing is a necessity.

puts hand on your shoulder

I’m sorry… it’s just the way it has to be. :sob:

I really feel you guys that are getting KS’ed. but hear me… as an archer that has built his character right… i 1-2 hit everything… RARELY does it take 3 hits… because everything is either a 1 or a 2 hit, i zone out… my eyes are disengaged. my thought process is somewhere else. i kill things at the moment they are showing up on my screen or sometimes my arrows bounce to them OFF my screen. I rarely notice im KSing anyone. infact im sure i ks a lot a lot a lot of ppl but only notice it when someone occasionally throws up a chat bubble to say HEY FUCKER!@

One day, i drag some mobs then a ranger just came and killed them all…
(pretty obvious the mob was mine and i am cast thing there)

then someone tell me, don’t blame other players when it’s the mechanical problem…

yea… cool…totally cool

Welcome to KMMO’s, you new to the genre?

and you are showing off how good you are at killing everything on your screen and i saw your other post saying “if i walk pass and you happen to be on my screen, you lose a few mobs”

all i can say is, dont bullshit your zone thing and be proud of it. You have no consideration for others, you are rude and unethical but is unaware of it, thinking it is okay just because you happen “not to notice”, or because you weren’t even focusing, weren’t even looking so its not your problem. People like you need a big smack down.

I play dps and i fight against ksers when i see them. When i see other classes especially support like cleric getting ksed by idiots, i will stand up and help these people to scold the ksers and i will fking ks the ksers let ppl like you taste their own ■■■■.

I can motherfking win u in any fking ks, stalk u to death and one hit any mob u are trying to hit until u cry. So dont ever think you are any pro here being able to 1-2 hit anything, thats just because you chose a dps class. There is nothing to be proud of.

For people who have chosen the support class, it doesnt mean they are weak or anything, please, they could have all chosen dps if they wanted to and use it better than you. Dont think ppl should bow down to you just because you can kill things easily. @sshole

Currently i didnt make a C3 ELEgiggle to watch you basic attack my quest mob, get mad ? change channel and stop crying.

that is amazing

i have been “ksed” as much as i do it to others maybe less. not sure. i could care less about it… when i was farming mats for my 120 bow i was in high lvl zones at a lower lvl, i was in maps 50 lvls above me doing supreme reduced dmg. i had no problem with the groups going through and clearing everything. you couldnt possibly make me cry with the options available. if you started to follow me and were making it your mission, clearly i would quickly do something like switch channel, switch zone, hit up a dungeon… i wouldnt sit and sulk and beat my head against a wall. thats not how any person should operate you dig?

Church.

So many games already know how to make anti KSing systems.

Step it up IMC, we’re waiting for you :3

Do you not see the hypocrisy in “YOU DON’T OWN THIS MAP” while ranting about how you think you own the mobs on the map?

And then they would need to change it back when all those who enjoy the current system start to whine how the game become more boring and the game’s starting to become a hello kitty online with rainbows and butterflies only?

It would be easier if you just changed your way of thinking of the situation. Part of the target audience are mature enough to deal with it and actually enjoy the situations when other people add extra variable for grinding. It gives incentive to be social and enjoy dealing with the problem with those precious in game friends you’ve gathered. Trust me, this is actually the part that makes mmorpgs so fun, not the grinding itself.

So, I screwed up royally the other day. I thought an archer was a bot because she blatantly stole two kills from me–quest monster kills. I ran over and challenged her to a duel, hoping it would screw with the bot’s coding. I ran off… and she followed me. Name red.

Oh, snap. It was a player!

We proceed to have an epic battle in the middle of a monster-infested room. She sicced her pet on me, I knocked the pet away. Shots are fired! Bam, bam, bam, arrows rain down on me, and I’m knocking her all over the room, and we’d both stop to destroy the monsters hounding us, and we’d get back to fighting.

I wanted to surrender, but I don’t know if there’s a way to call for a surrender in a duel in this game. I was so ashamed, but I had to keep fighting her. Eventually she reached 1 health, with me in the low 10 percentile; archers hurt, damn it. I couldn’t face this player anymore. I beat up an archer for two lousy KSes, that could’ve been an accident.

I proceeded to head back to Klaipeda, seeking penance. There, I challenged another hoplite to a duel, and I made sure they were a higher level. They thrashed me, and I felt better.

And that is the miracle of Christmas.

EDIT: I didn’t check the archer’s info till after I ran into her a second time and hastily tried to explain myself. She just lol’d and moved on. I was nearly beaten by an archer over 10 levels below me. Even with me utilizing my blocks and tanky defense.

ARCHERS. HURT. That fight would’ve gone very bad if she was my level or higher.
