Maybe instead of making bosses completly immune to Knock Down effect you they could get a Knock Down counter and after reaching set number of stacks boss would get knocked down. When you attack boss with something that knocks down he would get 1 Knock Down counter stack. If required number of stacks wasnt reached in set time the Knock Down counter and all the stacks would be removed. Different bosses could have different required numer of stacks to get knocked down and different time window in which you can add stacks to actually knock the boss down.

There was a somewhat similar feature in Wildstar, I think.
Boss-class monsters had so-called “Interrupt Armor” which was displayed as a buff with a number of stacks on it.
Potentially stunning/interrupting attacks would reduce the number of stacks, but only an attack landing after the stacks were depleted could affect the boss itself, and the stacks would regenerate after a time, so coordination was necessary.
Yeah, I like the team play aspect of it. Devs would neet to count in the max number of party members and average number of CCs in general (or in team compositions). I’d like more if each status CC (stun, knock down) had it own stack counter.
