Honestly all this battle showed me is we need to be a tad more careful who we associate with.
sh.it talking? cool, comes with the territory.
general BM like spawn camping? Eh, could do without but w/e.
spamming chat to attempt to d/c people? Yeah, no. That is well beyond crossing the line.
The people on my camp give no f.ucks about a couple of autistic people who want to keep shouting âWe ruled you yet again Futurelosers. Why do you keep trying? Weâre so much better than you. Why donât you go cry on a corner since you are so bad?â. They want opponents to fight, and I provide them that.
The rules for Guild Battle League wonât change. So long as the few rules we established arenât broken, guilds are free to join and leave as they wish. We wonât turn it into something else just because one guild wants it to be something else.
Okay, I missed this part of the video so I have to ask:
Does that actually work?
I remember, way back in Runescape circa '05, that you could crash peoples older java clients by making very long sentences of the multi-color flashing text. Surely, the same thing wouldnât work in this game, right?
Well, okay. If thatâs the way they feel. I probably wouldnât put up with it if I was GM, but I donât run your guild. So you would know best.
Best of luck to your side, then.
The battle against Futureproof is becoming less about the struggle to win in pvp, but more so the struggle to not let the bar get any lower.
It is obvious that the two sides have different goals. Valhallaâs side wants quality and skill based fighting, and feels cheated by usage of exploits. Whereas Futureproof values⌠I donât kown what they value honestly.
Futureproof reminds me of the kids who use gameshark to hack their Pokemon save files and then brag about it to their friends. It is pathetic in every sense of the word.
If they valued âquality and skill-based fightingâ the entire guild battle league would be structured differently. To cater towards competitive style gameplay, i.e 10v10 15v10 in closed environments and not trying to sit at a respawn point with higher numbers to eventually dwindle down the other team. Thats not how GvG arena will be, and i just think the guilds have different views on what is actually fun. Valhalla wants to get practice in for GvG arena where it is set numbers of 15v15, where as Lolipan just wants to have a â â â â fest of abusing bad game mechanics.
You are right in that battles must be frustrating if the technical problems shown in the videos are the norm. I canât really see that as the fault of the coordinator, as itâs not him thatâs dropping the FPS down to a few frames per second every encounter. Itâs really only his fault if we assume that these battles were done entirely on the basis of poor planning.
But at the same time: It is your decision to participate in it. Why not create another league?
Or better yet, maybe the goal of the Guild Battle League should be for the winner (Or the best at it, whatever that may be) is the one that determines rules for it.
I think you should have the ability to make rules and meetups for it just like anyone else in the league. So maybe you should propose a set of rules and insist that Futureproof and CuteNotLewd( ) follow those for a change.
Otherwise, it is just Lolipantsu making rules and battles by himself.
There could be discussion and feedback on improving the quality of the play for everyone (that is to keep in mind poor mechanics/client and work around it) - such feedback need not be called whining
Well, that would be frustrating. But at the same time, if you hate the person running it, you hate the guild youâre against, you hate the rules he set forth and you hate the conditions he imposed.
Then why play?
Clearly itâs not to the benefit of either Valhalla(TM all rights reserved) or Futureloli or whatever. The guy running could be some kind of masochist, so he may be getting off to the idea that people are having a bad experience and mocking him for it. Itâs really hard to tell with the stance heâs taken.
I, personally, would be interested in seeing this idea in a more professional, organized context.
Just my two cents, maybe something worth considering to save the largest guilds on the server a lot of time and headaches.
The founding guilds all agreed on the terms and, like I said, none of the other guilds that joined after have complained about the eventâs rules and settings. The rules arenât actually any different from the guild wars from before the neutrality patch, with the exception that Guild Towers arenât being destroyed, and only PvP guilds are participating. Valhalla is playing the vocal minority, complaining that things donât work the way they wish they would, and overall just throwing baseless insults and accusations, such as those:
If they donât want to fight under the proposed rules thatâs their choice, but the only alternative they have is to go back to how things were before: No wars, no PvP, no GBL, nothing. Just dead end-game with nothing to do for god knows how long, until IMC remembers they have an international server to care for.
Itâs like they walked into a chinese restaurant and demanded to be served taiwanese food because they donât like chinese.
Well then. My apologies. Did not read through fine print. I will be withdrawaling from such events until further notice or extreme boredom.
A better metaphor is walking into a Chinese restruant where there are adequate supplies of ingredients, but he chef refuse to cook with proper techniques. Instead, he chooses to boil everything to mush and add enough salt to overwhelm any flavor.
