[Klaipeda] Guild Battle League [Week 2] [Starts July 8th]

I don’t think you read my entire post.

You did a GREAT JOB on the first push. Don’t get me wrong. But after the first push, Valhalla’s side just fell apart.

Maybe the video didn’t portray the crashing part properly? I may have skipped that part by accident. To me, your forces just went away and was countered immediately by, who I’m guessing, is Futureproof and CuteNotLewd (That name is dumb, btw. whoever made it)

If there was a big crashing event, they must have recovered from it way faster. Because they assembled a mass I can only describe as a ‘zerg’ to overtake what few people were still holding center.

I think we’re saying the same thing, but you’re being needlessly defensive about it. Lighten up, it’s just a game. No one is going to remember this in a month when kills start being recorded.

I would have used the in-game recorder and cut out the relevant parts with FFMPEG. But that’s just me.

This post was flagged by the community and is temporarily hidden.

bandicam isn’t very good for livestreaming though.

Nearly forgot about this.

I’ve been going back through this thread to understand what this “Guild Battle League” is all about.

How many encounters have there been between the guilds? Is it just the ones in this thread? Because it seems to me that every time anything significant happens between either of the guilds; there are 5+ posts of whining and vitriol about how worthless the ‘other side’ are, how much they cheated, how the rules were stacked in their favor, how they’re 0/10 and should kill themselves, how their mother was a hamster, etc.

It seems to me like this entire idea is a great idea for sportsmanship purposes; but it’s comprised entirely of the worst sports on the server. Is anything even being gained from this? Lol- SIGH. .lolipantsu (why did you name yourself that? Is it to make me feel dirty typing it?) doesn’t seem to be giving anything away for winning these battles. And they seem to be trying to hold together a group of people who are all bubbling with hate for one another.

It really just makes me feel sad reading the thread, here are all these great battles that I’m sure people worked hard trying to organize and every person imaginable from all sides is complaining about them.

Is there ANYONE who is a good sport about this who is happy with the outcome? Valhalla (Why do you have a trademark after your guild name. Is this some kind of irony?) and CuteNotLewd (Ugh) have both had johns about every battle in the thread.

There were fights every day, every hour. Even if large scales battles aren’t taking place, people are killing each other out in the field at all times.

There are no rewards and no winners, for two reasons: To give rewards, we’d have to collect silver/items from all guilds. And also because there are no clean, 100% failproof methods to determine who wins or loses.

Valhalla likes to boast about winning or losing on a game with no winners or losers. For whatever reason, they have the need to be overly-defensive about it. Every other guild couldn’t care less, we’re just having fun while killing and being killed. I have yet to receive any complaints from any of the 5 other guilds.

If you don’t believe me, try asking anyone from the other guilds that are involved.

Except when your guild started the trash talk after the first battle, in shout chat and in say chat. Once again spreading lies lolipan.

Did we? I don’t particularly recall doing or seeing that.

See? Right there. You two just proved my point here.

Valhalla (I’m not adding the tm, that’s dumb. I doubt you have a registered trademark) seems to be trying to convey to you, with every fiber of their being, that they hate you, Pantsu. Every single post in this thread from them is either telling you how awful you and your guild are and to disband your guild or kill yourself. And you just take it. Why? It’s clear that they don’t really want to associate with you, and that they’re doing it because your patience hasn’t run out yet.

It really does remind me of that nerd in high school who would say that the bully was his friend and he was just loaning him his lunch money.

Frankly, after the post up there complaining about the rules and calling your entire guild garbage, I would have said “Okay, well enjoy not participating” and kicked them out. Because it’s clear that their members aren’t going to cooperate enough to leave you alone for more than second to enjoy any of this.

Well i think the gvg stuff is sort of trashy with the 2fps business and I’m not really one for post play bragging. However…

Because I was lazy levelling my templar, got sniped for the name and we’ve been Valhalla on another game for over 11 years.

I was defensive about the way you guys perceived the outcome, and i always had kill logs/video proof showing how the battle went. All your guild did was spout off nonsense about how they won blah blah, so i chose to back it up with proof, something nobody in your guild could provide, just like the “organized” aspect of this, where you said you would meet up for a set numbers 10v10. I guess it is partly my fault, as i did not clarify with YOU specifically, but i had spoken with karga and he told me there would be organized battles so we can actually learn something instead of this. Maybe you should change the scope of your system because running around with 50+ people on screen at 2 fps is just not fun for anyone. If you are trying to appease to the pvp community, then how about you restructure it to actually be competitive. Its not impossible, it can be done, and if you are not willing to do it i will do so in a separate thread. Please let me know as i do not want to hijack what is partially your idea, but if you are not willing to improve it or change it then we (valhalla) will not be participating again. We already have set battles for next week with Tarot so we can start practicing group comps and strats, as this is what is important for what pvp will eventually be in iToS.

Well you have a good point, why is anyone trying to equate this to their ego when every video posted here is in the sub-10 FPS range when any action is happening?

I mean, sure it’s probably fun and addictive. So can’t everyone just give calmness a chance? I want to see this develop into a server-wide thing if the wrinkles are ever ironed out.

Exactly, but I’ll say this much, I haven’t been particularly involved in the action apart from building towers, listening in and seeing the globals and I will definitely say that the trash starts on the other side. If you read back through this thread, people complained that Valhalla wanted higher quality play that was off spawn camps and got accusational and defensive over that - and lolipan certainly took it to global shouts.

I think it’s all nonsense over a game simply put that nobody can “win” or “lose” with this quality client. It’s for fun and all should simmer down.

Also I’m going to go trademark Valhalla right now. It’s a good idea.

Well, I can’t really comment on that because for the most part; I keep shout chat turned off. Along with whisper, say, and soon half of my interface if the bots get more pervasive.

Also, if you trademark Valhalla, you can sell T-shirts.

It is just banter, plain and simple.

Truthfully, every time Valhalla pulled back was to simply give the other side time to recoup so we could push again. We generally don’t like spawn camping, though we did it once in the 3rd push.

On the 4th push, an icewall combo disconnected about 75% of our force, and when we logged in again it was unplayable, so we called it off.

People shouldn’t give what they can’t take. coughlolipancough

I already sell shirts tho - but I’m sure I can find some enterprise where I’m charging people or sueing them for just using some mythology based word.

Valhalla hasn’t broken any of the rules. If they want to bitch about winning/losing, I don’t really care. They show up to fight and that’s enough. My only interest is keeping the event going.

Guild Battle League isn’t practice for the GvG feature. Guild Wars are a separate feature from Battle Arena and GvG mode, that IMC gutted because they’re bad developers that don’t properly think through their patches and changes.

With two enemy factions fighting each other, it’s only natural banter would take place. That’s not the problem. I am just a little frustrated that certain people in Valhalla take things too personally, escalating into arguments that turn other guilds away from the major point of this event: Having fun.

I want this event to grow and reach out to more guilds, but if all other people see is sh.it-flinging, it won’t happen.

And that’s fair enough, once it becomes unplayable is the point where people need to start voluntarily leaving or just calling it quits so what few people remain can have something resembling a battle.
Then again, my idea of ‘becoming unplayable’ is the sub-20 range, so maybe my philosophies just don’t mesh with the game.

Better than that, You can add the tm to the shirt if you do that! That’d be wicked!

If you want to do it that way, it’s up to you. It’s just, I don’t think it’s fair to your guild unless they feel the same way about it as you do. Being a vanguard is great until the point you’re volunteering other people to be one.

Ideally, a setup like this would have a neutral but powerful arbitrator. Not sure who that would include in a setup such as this with such limitations.

Frankly Lolipantsu I think if you’re worried about sh*tflinging you can personally set better examples.
