Klaipeda Anti-Racism Movement

Hey, guild leader of Mythos here o/, after witnessing some truly horrible displays of toxic racism and drama rampant on world chat and forums i have decided i wanted to try my hand at starting an Anti-Racism Movement.

Essentially our server is budding flower now as the original players we can choose how our community is going to be,the benefits of a new game ladies and gentleman we can shape the future :slight_smile:
Now the way i see it we have two choices.
A. be dragged down to massive levels of drama and toxic behavior, and let our community go to â– â– â– â– 
B. The leaders of the community make a conscious effort to combat racism and community separation.

Personally i like the latter, i am not a carebear don’t get me wrong i love PvP and all the drama that can be associated with it there’s nothing better then smacking your epeen down on the table and showing everyone else its bigger then theirs but when it promotes unhealthy levels of hurtful/racist behavior that is where i draw a line.

Essentially what we would be doing as guilds start forming the guild leaders of all create an unspoken agreement to not tolerate racism harassment etc and thoroughly wreck whichever guild wants to promote toxic behavior bully small guilds and ruin everyone’s gaming experience.

Just my 2cence anyway, it doesn’t matter too much to me either way i just thought i would try to get something good started.

I question how well this would work, but something definitely should be done.

The shout chat is pretty awful most of the time.

Its not being like that, it is the reality, doesn’t matter where, be it game, forum or chat rooms, there is always people like that, it is human nature to get into this kind of crap, or all those wars along the human history didn’t teach you that?

Now lets not get too deep into this because it will end up in a kind of WWII with the little “Hittlers” coming out of their hiddeouts.

It is something that IMC can’t do much about, it is others behavior that need to be changed, but you know that won’t happen right?.

No one asked IMC to fix it, the OP was suggesting a community effort to reduce the amount of toxicity in chat.

The Anti-Racism Movement is pointless. Especially since it’ll probably be founded on some notion that it’s all coming exclusively from one side/group of people.

This needs a ton of emphasis. If you didn’t know? There are people on the other side/any side and they are saying something equivalent to what is being said about them. Doesn’t matter if it’s true or not.

Plus, do you think all of this is really racism? Maybe it is. But, let’s pretend it isn’t. People who are pushing for “segregation” are doing so for accessibility and convenience. Practical matters.

A server which has its hardware located on the East Coast is being filled to the brim with people from abroad. It’s not just a matter of language. It’s a matter of connectivity. Even people here in Canada are having trouble with Klaipeda, because of all the people from across the world that are flooding in.

Not everyone who says “BRs get their own servers” is saying it because they hate anybody that sucks at football, plays a loud horn or cuts PMCs in half with a HF Murasama blade.

They’re saying it because they NEED one just as much as we NEED our own server, because of where ours is located.

Not everyone will reach an understanding with others and preaching about it like a leftist politic is just… kind of annoying.

Yes, racism is bad but it will always be around because of what I said in the last sentence. People will only reach an understanding with others by learning it themselves, or they may never learn it at all.

Advocating a healthy multicultural community isn’t pointless, now i am not sure 100% how it would work that’s what this thread is for, discussion.
Yes this is racism, no i am not talking about the people saying “BR’s should have there own server” this is aimed solely at groups of people including and not limited too some BR players themselves that are throwing around hurtful bigoted hate.
People who are pushing for a BR server solely to improve connectivity or w/e are ok in my book but it crosses a line when there are people targeting players of certain nationalities using pointless hurtful insults and harassing each other via world chat and guild war functions.
And ok lets say a month in the future there is a BR server, fine but what about all the other nationalities on Klaip that start getting targeting following the precedent already set its a snowball effect and it needs to be nipped in the bud.

Again, no i know not everyone who says “BRs get their own servers” are the problem its those who say “BR’s get the ■■■■ off my server etc etc” that are.

This is probably an over the top analogy and makes me cringe a little bit using, but its like 1am and i am tired so screw it.

If everyone followed this philosophy there would still be segregation laws in place for African Americans.

You can’t really do anything about it. If someone is a racist, he will do and say racist things. :stuck_out_tongue:

Obviously there should be a harassment reporting available.

Human selfish side, pure and simple: “That guy pointed his finger at me, he is a racist.” its not common to one think that way.

Apparently the other side didn’t know that on this or that side there are people.

I know half wouldn’t be, and just to make things clear, i am not taking anyone’s side, no one is saint here and know where all this will get in the end.

For a minority it may be. I myself won’t be joining a local server, be it BR or LA, why? Because most of my friends i play with are outside of the country, a long date friend who is Canadian that play together with me is outside too.

Now lets take the example of what is been out there here for a second, you or anyone who read this don’t need to go too deep into it for the sake simplicity:

Assuming that IMC would do a local server based on region (South America, North America, EU, etc.) we reach the state of:

  1. These areas won’t access the areas outside of their own (AK IP Block).
  2. Using VPN may be possible, IMC will decide, for the sake of stability, if VPN is allowed or no.
  3. Who want to play with friends outside cannot anymore due to 1.
  4. This is the last one, and the point of this thread also, the division i stated (note that is just hypothetically and IMC haven’t claimed any of this) is the pure sample of a bigger kind of racism or you can call it w/e you want, i mean, you just separated the world in blocks not allowing them to interact.

I get the part of stability on the server by putting up more servers, but that is IMC call and it is iTOS not NA TOS or BRTOS or whatever TOS people want to come up with.

If people don’t want to deal with foreigners, why the heck are they on the INTernet?

Not every nationality or race will be targeted. People aren’t going to pushing to have every single one off of Klaipeda and this was never the case. You’re using a slippery slope logical fallacy.

Well I can tell you that my Guild members are tamed and above that sort of thing. Good on you!
