Killstealing allowed? Anti-social player behavior

OR… you might just make the game in such a way that kill stealing it’s impossible… can’t do it? well… guild wars 1 did it… guild wars 2 did it too… as i read trove too doesn’t suffer from kill steal…

The problem is that this playerbase is completely divided between old, better players… and spoiled players that just wants dominance… so without a game design that makes it impossible for players to have conflict… conlfic will always exist nevertheless

The playerbase for ToS is, itself, a generational conflict in between the older ones that think something can be fun for everyone… and the youngsters that only wants to reign supreme over everyone and watch them burn laughin from their mighty trone.

Why is it?

Because that’s the target audience for ToS: older RO/MMo players that come here for nostalgia…

Young kids that come here for graphic and soundtrack.

So no matter how hard players will try… it will be totally impossible to adjust the current situation as far as the playerbase is concerned because the game design makes it possible for these kind of problems to exist ^^

Lots of the servers had said rules, the enforcement was pathetic though so it happened frequently anyway.

in all those years of ragnarok i got ksed sometimes sure - but always following with a “i am sorry” and whenever i hit something of another guy i said sorry as well or at least done the sorry emote - thats how euro loki worked and only speaking of euro loki

Not enough mobs to go around.

To any legit priest players, i’m sorry if i ks you because you all look like bots to me. Priest bots are getting out of hand honestly.

Not that I support unreasoned kill stealing or something like this.

But, could I ask a question?

How would you handle getting your exp/hour lowered to 1/4 of what you would get when you have a few hours to play because someone else wanted to claim a lot of monsters every time from the grinding spot you were there for like 3 hours? Wouldn’t the person who headed there and staying be in the same “class” as the one that were ks’ing in some points of view?

I aggree that kill stealing by fun or “hunting” a player isn’t nice or so but the game doesn’t help so… t.t

KSers always remind me of the record function of this game, try to make videos for your adventure if your PC has enough storage room.

BTW, do we have a system for non-Euro servers to report intentional and provocative KSers? If not, we shall ask GMs for the channel and to enforce very clear rules regarding how to define KS, consequences of KS etc…

Changing the spawn rate and ways to spawn mobs might also be helpful

It’s 2016 they should have fixed this by now, although they did a good job with the mini bosses.

As a Linker I think we’re the ones that get KS’d the most. Start up our rotation and someone runs in and becomes the momentary ■■■■ for a second then runs off.

I can understand games like GW2 solving this KS issue with their shared exp design to minimize the annoyances. I’d adopt that into this game since this was probably something that didn’t want to be brought back from RO.

Younger 2000s players probably don’t even bat an eye to even think about KSing since it wasn’t even during their time. It only just makes them seem like dicks to the other player.

I’m sure we got our fair share of KSing from those Arde Dagger bots as well.

If someone kses me a couple of times, I will switch to my higher level character, go into that zone and ks them for days. I will follow them around and steal their mobs for a while. The best way to teach a kser manners is to learn them the hard way.

In the many private servers I played, KSing wasn’t common. If you did KS, people would report you and the GMs would act immediately to jail those kind of players.

Tree of Savior is one of those games that also shocked me so much because of the KSing that happens. It’s gotten a lot better now after a few weeks since the launch though.

In some private Ragnarok servers, once you mark a monster, the other players weren’t able to hit it. Of course if you died, those marked monsters were still marked and it took a few minutes before other players could kill them. But, this idea comes along with abuse.

This is why I like the swordsman class skill that provokes a fixed amount of targets. I just wish that nobody else could hit my mob except for my party members. It’ll be impossible for one player to abuse that skill anyway because there’s the cooldown.

@Rubiss I just shout out at them in-game. They usually leave me alone after I tell them to stop KSing. All of them that I encountered don’t know the concept of KS.

Every time I’ve called out a kser, they’ve been uppity and condescending about it. I remember when I was a C2 Wizard, this ranger was stealing my kills. I told her to stop and she found it amusing. Her and her Priest friend were laughing it up. They went as far as to mock my damage (as I was using level 8 energy bolt at the time).

KSers can’t be reasoned with. They are subhuman. Archer types especially. That is why I always steal their kills regardless. That same Wizard is an Elemenalist now. Do you know what I do to Archer types who try and KS me now? Magic Missile. I show them no mercy. KSers deserve nothing less.

imo that sounds like trollbait to some few.

More restrictions on gameplay choices? No thanks.

Private servers are a different story they have tiny populations and are easier to manage. IToS is not a private server, so you can’t really compare it to one.

Grind baby, Grind

When i say “you’ve got to program the game in such a way that it doesn’t allow it” i mean:

  • Guild Wars 1 style
  • Guild Wars 2 style

if you want to call those mechanics “restrictions”… well do as you want ^^

Honestly, grow a pair.
It’s 2016, not 2000 anymore.
When we were kids everything was better, not just games. Go with the time please.
