Luck isn’t a fair system though, that’s why it’s called luck.
Honestly though, name reservation is dumb.
I don’t know, I think luck on its own can be fair. Luck is something that involves nothing and everything; it acts completely outside of our actions. So something that is simply “luck”, even if given an unfair outcome, is ultimately fair on its own because it acts freely of any interference.
Unfair outcomes are simply ‘bad’ luck…? Or lack of, therefore nothing.

I’m gonna try and stay on topic and just say that I really like reserving names, but I’m completely open to everyone having an equal start as well.
Do note that it’s a closed beta TEST,many things are subject to change,there’s no reason why they would allow people to keep their names now unless the game’s already stable and they’re following the trend of “beta founder packs” and closed betas where a gajillion people are participating.
Treating the game as if it’s already complete is the wrong mindset to roll with at this point. At the very least,if they choose to allow name reservations at any point during development,I would say it would be during the open beta instead of this closed beta

How are IGNs being handled? Are you able to use spaces and symbols?
Two people can actually have the exact same character name. The thing is, theres a group name (lobby name) and then theres is a character name. The group name is unique, kinda like your character’s last name. The name that shows up while you are playing in the game can be used by multiple people.
So if someone wants to be Kirito and another guy wants to be Kirito, they can both have that name. One just might be Kirito_SOA while the other Kirito_Swordart
I mean does it matter really to have your named saved for ICBT 2, there will be a CBT3 and more than likely if we follow K version another one as well. So, you will be wiped over and over again now from last CBT to OBT then that’s a diff story but right now it makes no sense to save everyone’s name.
Simple just don’t use the same name in CBT that you intend to use later on because most likely it will be taken by someone else, either just to troll you or because the name sounds good.
I don’t think anyone would take the name i intend to use, and even if they did, its also going to be my lobby name, so people would know that the other is a fake.
I hope i can keep my name…

I would hope they would not retain IGNs from beta as there are those that of us that have been following the games progress and would be pretty upset that we not only could not contribute to the beta test but also would possibly lose the chance at claiming the names our personas have used for so many years.

i agree, its better than cash shop items or something similar simply because something like that actually creates real differences between cbt and obt testers.
