Just started, need advice to gear for ET fresh off the boat :)

I am a new player and i’m trying to get a better understanding of how to gear for ET. I understand that you probably need to be geared in the first place to get geared well. I also understand the importance of the gear depends on the class, for instance supports don’t have such an importance on getting geared.

What I want to ask is how should I approach getting adequately geared?
Could I get away with blues at +3?
What kind of armor should I strive for and how would I get it?
For more clarity I’m wanting to gear my Doppel with a Sword c1 > High c3 > Barb c1 > Doppel
and a Warlock with Wiz c3 > Ele c3 > Warlock as I want them both geared.

For those who don’t mind sharing their wisdom I greatly appreciate it

It depends on how far you want to get with ET. Just 1-5, 1-10, 1-20 and etc. A starting kit as a wizard, I’d recommend you to go for the “war mage” (lvl 170 gear)" set for the int. You don’t really need to upgrade it yet, but at least have lvl 5 gems in the socket for extra hp to not die. As for weap, you want prac weap or 315 purple weap ofc. you can also get away with the 315 blues staff or rod if you dont plan on going pass 10th floor. As a DPS, you want to focus getting a better weap first, then your war mage set and then your dmg attributes.

Note: As a DPS, you’d want to focus DPS over your armor upgrades.
Note 2: getting carried in 1-5 is really easy. Just join into one ET party on shout that dose 1-5 and ask them to guide you (atleast have 315 staff/rod and war mage set or you might get kick as dps xd).
Note 3: Go find a guild or find ET friends to set up a permanent ET party for higher floors when you get better geared.
Note 4: All what I said is not the only approach to ET.

+6 war mage equips should be fine for your wizzy up to floor 20. You will want to focus on your weapon more than anything as people are going to be bringing you for your DPS and not survivability.

As was said, 315 practonium weapon is an excellent choice, should you get lucky at 317 with mystical cube.

how soloable is this? fresh 260 and we got like 34/150 first floor

et isn’t supposed to be done solo, you need 5 members alive at certain floors to pass and the mobs are generally harder than your mobs outside.
that being said, a reasonably geared person is able to carry the dps checks easily from 1-10f. lvl 260 is the bare minimum of et, but it would be better if you lvled abit to 280 first so it gets abit easier for you.

If you want to dive straight into ET you’re better off rolling a support. Gear is a lot less important for a support. You need well geared carry if you want to clear the DPS checks. Some supports like CryoChrono could practically do ET naked and get the same results.

ok now i play a single (2-3) target dps fencer was looking at gladiator bands, am i of use here? is there many bosses or is it just the mob rooms lol

yeah, slygoat pretty much answers that except for the…

do i want aoe dps or is it cool if i make a single target dps?

there is a boss floor every 5th floor(5,10,15,etc)
the bosses mostly have different mechanics/attacks but a lot of the time, they might feel easier to do compared to the floor gimmicks.

Since the new patch, Imc has made et easier for all classes so no you aren’t useless but you just need better gears/higher lvl.

aoe dps is definately a big help for dps check floors, there is a meta for a reason. that being said, single target dps is also good as long as you have a good party comp to make up for the deficiency.

Are there any cleric builds that don’t need much gearing?
Cleric > Priest > Chap > Plague?
Cleric > Priest > Monk > Inquis?

Yes, but not those builds. Those are still primarily DPS builds, although I guess any kind of Priest is still nice to have these days. Krivis3Diev3 was extremely popular before for providing great buff support and invulnerability in the past, but it’s both nerfed and less necessary now. You could probably still run it and do fine, though.

Which rod/dagger rod/shield or staff combination u guys recommend? DPS WIZ3-ELE3-FF 250 here, aiming to buy a good weapon to carry me till 315.

I’ve been searching some options:
+5-8? Superior corona rod (not sure why but ingame the MATK is the same as my current regular Corona rod)
+5-8? Ignition (not sure if it works with my build)
+5-8? Pamane Rod (gives 30 INT with 583 matk, maybe even better than corona?)
+5-8? Circle Rod (seems a bit expensive, not sure if it’s worth)

I have 6million silver atm, as i checked market i can afford any of these mentioned. Should i buy one of them?
maybe the cheapest one till i get 315? why do u guys think?

@Remiri @Monokoi @Mikumo

there’s no need to spend a lot of silver to invest in a rod pre 315.
just having a superior Corona rod with +4 or something is enough till you reach 315.
I wouldn’t recommend spending a lot of silver for it either. save silver and mats for your 315 wep.
don’t get circle rod and I think ignition isn’t optimal with ur current build. you can choose to get pamane rod if you wish but not needed

edit: I was using a superior Corona rod+7 with two 5 star blue gems in it even at lvl 330. it was only after I had enough to get a practonium and mats that I could make my windia rod. right now I am using a regard horn staff after many investments.

Tbh, most clerics don’t need gearing in party play (like ET) since your main job will be to keep them alive. Just take something that has nice DPS/skills in general, get some plate armor, and you’re good as a cleric to do ET. What most people care about is “Can you heal us efficiently ? Can you resurrect us if we die ?”.
You can gear up a bit, play with gems, and all of course, but it’s really not mandatory.

Ok thx man. How about attributes? any high priority enhancing ones? I may have around 6k attribute points but not sure where to spend them. Maybe some levels around hail,FC,meteor?

To be Honest? all of them lol.
get points on meteor/hail/fc/electrocute for sure.

a good benchmark is getting around lv50 attribute on all of them for the 25% damage boost. up to lvl 50 isn’t too expensive either. any more points are very expensive and is only good if u have a ton of silver to expend

Im new to but i mange to get all important dmg attributes to at least 20-30.
Thats not expensive and its a little boost.
Sadly not as good as before the patch.

If you really want a weap pre 315, then the best combination would be a pamane rod and an arde dagger probably.
