So i decided to join the bandwagon, this is more or less my two cents on tree of savior in its current state (4/4/2016). Please be aware that I typed these in order of what I noticed first and not in order of what I am most displeased about.
First and foremost, the spawn rates. This is what i noticed first, it’s too low in some areas and perfectly fine in others. The main problems are mobs for quests and SPECIFIC mobs for farming (Vubbe Fighters is just one example). I feel that some of the mobs should either spawn more frequently or in higher numbers, especially quest mobs. I’m sure that there is an effective way to resolve it one that I probably haven’t even thought of so I’ll leave that to the professionals/more experienced.
What i noticed after the whole mob spawn thing was that the whole restricted 1:1 trade is a bit of a pain and in my humble opinion needs to be changed (hopefully soon). Why you ask? Its simple, I keep getting loot that i don’t need and I would like to trade with my the random guy that i partied up with, he seems cool, he opted to help me when he clearly didn’t have to and I would like to repay his kindness. Guess what though…I cant. It also upsets me that trading is not only limited to 30 trades a month, or so I’ve been told, which is rubbish but it is also placed behind a paywall which is also rubbish. While I would understand limiting trades for f2p saviors, I fail to understand why paying saviors need to be restricted to such a degree ESPECIALLY for those who play the crafting/support classes (I have the utmost respect for you lot btw). I feel like limiting players to 2 trades for every 20 levels (at level 200 you would be entitled to 20 trades per day) for f2p and 3 trades for every 20 levels with a token (30 trades at level 200 per day). Just note that this is just an example rage shields up
Now the whole “It’s there to help fight against bots” argument doesn’t seem valid since you cant trade silver in the first place so those blasted botting bastards don’t really have a use for it anyways and will most likely be using the auction house. Oh and since we’re on the topic of bots, by day two they kinda just showed up and I pray to the RNG gods that they receive the full brunt of the band hammer and are banished forever for all of existence.
Thirdly, auction house, shouts and the price of the token. This is a three in one since these things all hit me at around the same time. Since this seems kind of long I’ll get straight to the point.
- The auction house’s 2 day wait is a pain, it seems that it hurts legit players more than the actual botters/gold seller or whatever its there for. The wait seems a bit unnecessary and I’m accustomed to waiting (resisting urge to compare to other games).
- Shouts…why do they cost tp again? Now I don’t use it and i probably wont be using it anytime soon but there was this one guy/girl who pointed out that they were “wasting shouts” arguing with another individual. Now this ticked me off and that’s about it.
- Last part of the three part part of three, the price of the token is too high, end of story. [insert rage induced three part comparison to other sub based MMOS]
And Last but certainly not least and this last one is what compelled me to type this long “thing” is the fact that I really enjoyed the time that i spent playing. Levels 1-50 or so weren’t anything special, the story didn’t captivate me all that much but as I progressed I got more and more interested in everything that was going on around me. I wanted to see all that there was to see and surprisingly what really sparked this was an exp wall I hit at level 75 (let’s just say I’m not the most efficient player lol). I was put in a position where I needed more exp so I did more quest, I ventured into areas that i had never thought about going to before, if the game felt linear to me it was simply because i had a “linear” playsyle". I eventually started the Orsha quests main and sidequests. The more I played, the more I enjoyed the game and the more I enjoyed the game the more upset I became. These issues aren’t new many are complaining and want change and while I there seem to be some who are simply looking for a means to vent their frustration, which they have every right to (although some go overboard) there are others who voice their complaints because they too see the potential of this game, they too want the game to flourish, they too see the unacceptable issues at hand and want them to be resolved because they too just want to enjoy this beautiful game to the fullest.
Well, i’m done with this post since I got to go for lunch now. Sorry about the length and I know there are tons of other posts similar to this one but whatever.
Have a good one fellow saviors I’m out
