Just a thought about monster gems

imagine how gay ragnarok would feel if all cards were untradable

wait, what was that?

why are you saying gay like it’s a bad thing?

what do untradable cards have to do with feeling gay?

@tomredwait
previous game that was developed by the lead guy whos responsible for tos

basically monster gems are the closest things to cards in ragnarok

think of cards as monster gems that can be added to ANY SLOT and will give you ANY ABILITIY provided by the gem

ie if you’re playing a mage and you found a gem that has +1 skill to swift step (archers skill) you would be able to gain level 1 swift step on your mage. you were able to trade them and they didnt break if removed from a socket.

it was a lot of fun

its an expression, synonym to lame. just like faget used to mean bundle of sticks at one point. get out more

so gay is synonymous to lame now.

pretty sure gay means happy or homosexual and that’s not really synonymous to lame is it? but whatever, just busting your balls

anyone here played closed beta?

how did trade limitation work? i heard it was vastly different than what we have now

you know those card. especially those bosscards were selling it like PHP 20k (US$400) a boss card. the best part is those GM and those in the IT department of the level up philippines were selling it. i would prefer the trade limitation anytime.

There was none.

Also I guess it’s fine this way. Reason being Gems would end up destroying the market, as rare and dumb as they are to monopolize. I would like the drop rate to be boosted on them though. They should, imo, have the same droprate as a Mithril Ore or about.

tos is different than ro tho, we have no boss cards here

bottting companies are already selling monster gems in tos, you just lose some of your weapon potential. not to mention that silver is still getting cheaper day by day.

in the end real players are affected way more than bots, at least as of now.

duh i know we have no boss card here stupid.

i was just saying what happened in our RO because you can trade cards.

doesnt change a thing i mentioned in the previous post

  • bots already sell gems in tos
  • silver is getting cheaper day by day
  • market restrictions affect real players more than bots

i think you are missing my point. those GM and IT dont need to bot it. they were generating those boss card and silver by just inputting numbers and clicking the mouse.

anyway dont really care abt what the botters are selling and not even compairing what is happening now. im just saying how bad are those tradable cards.

Excuse me but that wouldn’t feel gay at all. :frowning: We would need rainbows, unicorns and lots of fabulousness… maybe some thongs and mankinis could help too… :rainbow: :unicorn:

It is rly not a synonym in the way you think. It suggests that gays are lame. It is an association in a derogatory way. Like if we would use the word girly/white/black as lame.

Anyway I don’t rly like the untradable gems either…but at least we will be able to share it in team storage according to the latest Q&A …at least I won’t have to be afraid that I get a useful gem with a wrong char…

With the team storage thing that would be already good for me too actually.

I tried to imagine and this is all I could come up with.

i’ve played games, not ro, where you get get equipment or sockets with skills on; it was always a lot of fun. incidentally, one of the dev blogs did say we would have wands for offhand with magic type skills on them. not sure if they are still planning to add those. the idea of being able to use other class gems to acquire skills would be awesome.

Monster gems in beta were tradable (sortof, you would socket them in something and unsocket it after trading - now that destroys the gem), dropped a lot more frequently, and were basically worthless for their intended purpose. People bought them just to use them to level up normal gems. There are only a few monster gems right now that really have any value.

Also, putting a monster gem in a piece of gear doesn’t make that gear untradable, so technically you can still trade monster gems as long as you slot them in a piece of endgame gear and sell it for the appropriate price.

In other words, Ragnarok would be a very merry and happy experience if all cards were untradable?

I would advise everyone to have an out of body experience atleast once, but I don’t think having them too often is good for your state of mind. Still got to live in reality and all that.

That is not gay. That is the perverted mind of a perverted woman put into practice. (yes, I repeated perverted three times, for emphasis)

That card practically oozes pure evil. Where’s a holy handgrenate of antioch to nuke it from orbit when you need one.
