It is a beta, BUT when is it going to get to a point where BETA doesn’t mean an excuse? I don’t think people want to pay to get half of a Hamburger that’s almost done and been on the ground. That’s how I view what software and game are these days and it’s just horrible.
Yeah they key word in that entire sentence is RELEASE.
It’s been out for like five days, less than a week. Developers need time to actually work on issues. They’ve been improving the stability of the server and have put in temporary counter measures to help deal with shout spam.
I think they need more time.
In that entire time they haven’t done anything at all except put out new servers. They aren’t stable. If anything it’s only gotten worse and now that dungeons have been down for well over 24 hours with them taking the entire weekend off they need to stop being given excuses. They need to either do what they’ve been paid to do or shut down and move on.
That pretty fine print says nothing about betas or testing. It says a lit about supporting the game and head starts though. l was happy to support their release, but I want excited enough about this game to pay them to let me beta test for them.
The lag situation is waaaay better than it was on release. You can’t even compare. They added a character limit to shout and there is a cooldown between messages too. It’s a work in progress. It’s complete ignorance to say that they haven’t done anything but open servers. Have you played the game? I played a lot in the past few days and all today, I had next to no issues with lag or anything. There’s been improvement and there will likely continue to be improvement.
@NiiHZ It says to only buy if you want to support them during the early stages of release. Do you know what the early stages of a release usually entails? Server stability is one them.
As for trading, it sucks and I agree that it has to change. I also think the token prices are too high and that it’s a bit stupid to have female premium hair cost more than male premium hair.
I’m literally the exact opposite. As the days have gone by it’s got nothing but worse for me to the point where it’s taking 20 seconds of me standing on an item for it to be picked up and some quest items just not dropping at all.
Do not fool yourselves.
This was just a cash grab. The game probably won’t even change THAT much on full release. The games going to be the same in a month, with some tweaks here and there as any other game. I don’t see drastic changes.
Everybody and their mother understands early game server instability. That is absolutely not the only thing wrong.
What other technical problems are there then? Beyond instability and lag. Everything else, as far as I can tell, is a design choice.
No dungeons for over 24 hours is a design choice? Unless you’re putting that under server instability.
Why not? I imagine there is a cross server dungeon server which pulls players together for an instance. Furthermore, they’ve acknowledged the problem so it’s fair to assume they are working on fixing it.
Stream overlay still pops up when pressing shift in chat. Spot in the mines you still get stuck behind some boxes and have to teleport out. Quests not triggering requirements. Spammers somehow changing their timestamp (just read that one, what the hell). Whispers not sending. Friend requests not working. Shout only sending 80% of the time. Censoring the word class. Class advancement not working. Stat points not being given.
The stability is understandable. Even the bugs are fine, I can live with them. They should have said it’s a beta if it’s unfinished, though.
They’ve also not said anything once since then and it’s not been fixed. It’s just as fair to assume that they’ve went on their weekend and nothing is being done because so far that’s what’s being shown.
But thank god they have you here on the weekends to blindly defend them.
@NiiHZ Yep, there are bugs. I’m not trying to say there aren’t any. I think bugs are expected. Furthermore some of what you listed is just plain wrong or not actually a problem.
I’ve personally never had a problem nor heard of anyone having a problem with whispers or shout messages not being sent. I do know that there is a cooldown on the shout chat. I think it’s 10 seconds but it may be longer. If people chat in rapid succession, there messages won’t go through. Censorship of words is not a bug or an issue really. That is often outsourced and the dictionary of sanitary words are given to organizations. IMC has most likely not sat down and typed up a list of bad words.
I agree with you. They should have made it more transparent that it is a beta. I have outlined how they went out of their way to hide this.
@crackdacode18 Have you ever worked in software development or game programming for that matter? I have and I can give you a little insight on how it works. It takes time and while you might like hourly updates on progress, there can be hurdles in the code which are best overcome before reporting. To assume that the entire team has just taken off for the weekend is a little bizarre. The post outlying issues has been updated just today.
If you think a dungeon server breaking is something that can magically be fixed in a day then you’re dreaming. In the best of scenarios it is fixed in a day. I think you need to take a break from ToS and cool off personally. The entire release has lasted about five days. We’ve seen improvements and solutions. I am positive they will keep rolling them out.
Lastly, I am not blindly defending them, that’s you projecting. If you’ve followed my posts in any capacity, you would know that I am rather harsh on IMC. I often complain, hell I was one of the most active users during the Founder Server issue only a few weeks ago. You were hard pressed to find a topic where I wasn’t there fighting for change. Keep your ignorance to a minimum. It’s getting a little tiring having to explain my case to people who so hastily label me as a white knight because I’m showing some understanding.
If they went out of their remove any indication it was a beta and have no information that it is on the steam store page then its not a beta. While the game may be in a beta like state due to bugs and server issues the fact is this is a full release and a poor one at that.
This is the first game I have ever played that had such a game breaking issue like dungeons being broken not taken care of asap with constant updates informing us of whats going on.
I am taking a break because right now I literally cannot play due to nothing dropping for me and the bad lag.
I do see you criticize them but I’m getting sick and tired of people being like “It’s beta, just wait, they’ll fix it, you’ll see” It’s not beta. They did not announce it as beta. Nowhere at all does it say it’s beta. It’s the early access RELEASE (like they stated) before the free to play server launch in now less than a month.
I am tired of waiting because so far they’ve shown me nothing except a max character restriction and lack of communication with their already angry customers.
I am not trying to label you as a white knight. I’m just pissed because I would really be enjoying the game right now if they would let me but they won’t even talk about it.
I apologize for taking my frustrations out on you.
It’s not going to change much in the release. kTOS is still unfinished and we’re basically in the same build as them. We even have bugs from iCBT that haven’t been fixed yet.
Add to that all this cash shop and restrictions bullshit to make the situation worse.
Feel free to name this EA anything, but I’m sure all this will be the final design choices for the F2P launch and onwards.
I really wanted this game to be great, but when even kTOS is doing really bad and koreans are leaving the game already, I believe this game won’t make that far anymore.
Well, I hope all those posts about trade restrictions can reach IMC devs and make a change. But maybe I’m being naive and this is not gonna happen.
early stages of release GENIUS!
