Jackpot mob issue (losing the jackpot buff)

This is an issue that happened last beta (which i forgot to report) but still seems to happen.
Basically sometimes, those jackpot mobs (the blue, yellow, white shining mobs that give more loot/gold/exp) lose said buff and become regular mobs, which let’s be honest with how rare they are (and when you’re a thaumaturge), really stings.

It happened to me twice this beta (on white ones), one mob being Shardstatue while i was farming for wizard bracelet. I do not have any idea what triggers it or if they just lose it by sheer force of will, but some people reported that using monstrance on mobs would result in said phenomenon. As for my wizard > cryo > linker > Thauma, i have no idea which skill could be responsible as i never could reproduce said issue at will.

Not the same issue, found by trielav, but still worth looking into.

I will try to update main post if more discovery are made.

as a Thauma myself i have swelled countless shiny mobs and it always wokred. But i had 1 strange situation when i successfully swelled silver mob, it didnt lose his buff and has grown in size, i proceeded to kill it and it didnt drop a thing, not even a single coin.

Maybe they just were debuffed (hexed, armor break, or stuffs that makes them shine)

This bug still exists. Tsuyu saw me Swell Body a jackpot mob while we were testing out Back Masking and its jackpot buff vanished. Also has happened on a few other separate occasions. Really annoying.

I’ve heard other reports about blue, gold, and silver mobs losing their buffs, including monstrance specifically, but haven’t had the chance to investigate because these mobs are too rare. If any of you find a silver mob, don’t forget to F12 for video, check whether filling up the buff limit knocks off the four leaf clover buff, and keep track of whether mobs affected by this have self-buffs.

I’ve got a repeatable display bug. Since other people report the buff actually being removed, we should assume these are two separate bugs for now: one that removes the buff, and this one, which removes the flashing visual effect.

  1. Spend two or three days looking for a shiny silver mob.
  2. Cast the wizard spell Sleep on the mob (I also used Lethargy immediately afterwards, which probably isn’t necessary, but I only got one chance to test).
  3. Sleep causes a slow flashing effect, which overwrites the faster, brighter flashing effect from the silver mob buff.
  4. When the Sleep flashing ends, the mob no longer flashes at all. It looks like a regular mob. The four leaf clover buff remains if you target it.
  5. Upon killing the mob, it burst into a mountain of silver.

If video is needed I can upload it, but this one is pretty straightforward, so it probably won’t be necessary.

oh …I’ve encountered this before… seen a monster with jackpot buff (silver) …when I hit it the shine disappear, the buff still exist though, but no drop when killed.
