Its not so much that ToS is a bad game but that it tried to be Ragnarok Online

And simply played with peoples heart strings and nostalgia, if ToS was just trying to be another generic trash korean mmo itd be ok, but this is just going to far, i will never touch another nexon game in this existance

Ktos is Nexon’s, iTOS is pure IMC.

And no, TOS didnt to try to be RO, it even bested RO in many areas you’re blind to.

TOS is TOS, it is a ragnarok online clone, that could never be, RIP yet another korean trash MMO, back to FFXIV

Why no Loli VN

…You do realize you could have returned to playing FFXIV without mentioning that~?

//coughcoughsomeonewantsattention

Devs always tried to show ToS had a different idea than RO. It was the community that wanted another ragnarok.

Just out of curiosity, do please list these areas you’re talking about. There are some points to be made, I’m sure, but “besting” RO is quite the bold claim.

Seriously, IMC Games has done all they could to separate themselves from an unpleasant past and all the players could do is rub it into their faces. The only people who had expectations for this game to be like RO were the players, not IMC Games. I honestly don’t see any evidence of them trying to make TOS like RO.

That reminds me of a game I need to play when I have the time. Even if it only has 1 loli.

ToS is a ragnarok clone, better go back to my WoW clone instead!

Hm…not into this topic…cause it’s obvious that it’s not a Ragnarok online copy and etc… so the topic is bullshit but…

Man…honestly? FF XIV as a WoW clone?

That is not what it started out as, but that is what it became after they broke it apart and remade it. I always thought it was pretty obvious to anyone that played both games.

I didn’t know I was playing Ragnarok Online. Mind explain to me other than character model style? :grinning:

Yoshida: One of the reasons why Final Fantasy XI was so successful was that the whole development team went and played Everquest and they thought “Okay, we want to do exactly what they did with Final Fantasy XI!” You know there were times where you couldn’t contact any of them because of how much they played laughs, but because they did that they had a direction. One of the problems with Final Fantasy XIV was that there wasn’t that direction, they didn’t know what the standard was and they never played World of Warcraft, they didn’t know enough and because they didn’t know enough they couldn’t build something up to the standards of current MMOs. Plus when they started creating Final Fantasy XI there was Final Fantasy X that strongly influenced them.

With Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn we don’t want to create many new things, we first want to start of getting this global standard and then adding that Final Fantasy feel. We want to get the crystal tower in and the gold soucer to get that epic Final Fantasy feeling.

Straight from the devs mouth, don’t create an original game. Take a successful game and give it an FF skin.

I played both games… Starting both from the start. Final Fantasy XIV before remake and after remake.

Before they remade it, it was garbage… after that it was Final Fantasy XII … online with XI mixed. Everyone who knows Final Fantasy knows that.

Even if you want to compare it to WoW, that’s impossible. If you think it’s similar… lol. Which part? That you can do everything on 1 character? The combat system which is ATB?

Nah, seriously mate… Which part is similar? Both thing is mmo and they have instances and blabla…but which mmo not?

Have you ever player Final Fantasy? XD Ahw man…

FFXIV sucks

Erhm yeah…they just polished the FFXI…and? FF XI was loved and cherished. No wonder they didn’t throw the recipe out.

Btw, show me one developer who wont use WoW as an example. Even GW2 did that.

By standards and WoW standards, usually means:
-Easy interface
-Easy and interactive quests
-Easy access to the content
-Unique classes which are easy to handle.

Search on it. These are they ment by WoW standards. Nothing else. This is not a clone, this nothing but requirements from an mmo. Guess what… Blizzard did it right.

Can you read?, the interview quite clearly says they didn’t polish XI. XI was an everquest clone and ARR is a wow clone. Original XIV is the only one that didn’t take inspiration. Quote me where you read that. There’s nothing similar betwen XI and ARR.

Of course not that I expect you to not be delusional with a vivi avatar and “FF for the win” in your profile

You want some similarities?

Quest hub leveling
Heavily instance based
FFXIV’s “Light Party” (4-player) dungeons / WoW’s (5-player) dungeons
FFXIV’s LFR-style 24-player raids, / WoW’s LFR 25-player raids
FFXIV’s 8-Player difficult raids, / WoW’s Mythic 20-player raids
party finder (taken directly from wow)
Global Cooldown
Most attacks have no individual Cooldown themselves
Stay out of the red zone
No Dodge rolls
tab targeting battle
More slow paced / less action based then others
