It's NOT okay when IMC does it

Okay so, they want to add this new feature.
We gotta pay real money for a capsule.
Then we get a RANDOM item from it. And we can turn it into some currency, which can be later exchanged for the random items. But surely you don’t get enough of that currency to get what you want from just ONE hat.

Wow, that sounds so terrible. I remember one very bad game that did this, and people still like for some reason! You know what it’s called?

Hearthstone.

But wait, it’s very different right? Yeah let’s take a closer look.

First of, you can buy packs in Hearthstone with gold! Which is earned, like silver here! But, you see, we don’t know if we can sell capsules on market, maybe we do. And you definitely can buy contents with silver, while you can’t buy cards in HS. And to top it off, we still get free TP in about half of the events.

Next, packs have FIVE guaranteed CARDS, right? Well, yeah, and you need 30 cards to make a deck. And in ToS? You only need one headgear. So on average you need to open two capsules, and trade the hat you get for the hat you want.

Admit it, this nerdrage is only because it’s cool to hate IMC for anything new.
This type of “scummy cashgrab” has been around in gaming for a while now, you just didn’t realize.

Its okay if the game is fine and all. But with all the bugs, hackers, exploits, fps issues going around? No its not fine at all. They wasted all their time and effort to figure out a way to milk more money, but not how to make this game better.

I understand they need funds to keep them going, but this is a cheapshot.

I got my seat already.

White Knight getting desperate, hue. Why don’t you compare the player count between this two games and tell us, can TOS honestly take more player losses? Hearthstone has MILLIONS of players, now how many does TOS have…? Not to mention the amount of bugs and issues TOS has?

More popcorn please!

at this point, imma just turn blind eyes and love everything imc does~

best of all, i quit tos already~

huehuehue~

The decision is made

quit crying

Hmm… that is a really bad example to give in comparsion though. Hearthstone is a CCG/TCG, where the base idea to buy into the game is to spend real life money to get the cards the player wants to make the deck.

Personally I think the gachapon is made in anticipation of the impending mobile version of ToS and mobile games market is choked full of gachapons and their variants.

The reason why so many of the players are not happy with it is the base value of the gachapon doesn’t match the price paid. This is a computer game, not a gambling slot machine. If the base drop of the gachapon actually matches the 30TP price tag or is slightly lower, I’m sure that no one will really create a hoohaa about it.

No one cares that you quit ToS, i dont know why you have to repeat that in almost every thread like its suppose to validate the hours you wasted playing the game.

lmfao, why am I laughing at that… I’m going to go scrub myself with bleach now.

Edit: I’m fine with the new item. It’d be a bit different if there wasn’t the exchange market in place.

mysideeeeeeees

I always believe that is so here until what happened yesterday ( ̄ω ̄)

its okay, this is imc region of authority…

hue~

Then they should fix their game to get the player base back up… shocker of a solution. But that would be more work than milking the remaining until they quit.

Hearthstone launched with that model. IMC is taking their existing model that everyone is fine with and changing it. If they were just adding gachas and continuing to add and sell costumes I don’t think anyone would care, AND I don’t think it would reduce the sales on their gachas because some people just love gambling.

Your analogy is inherently flawed because there’s a huge difference between a game launching with a certain business model and a game changing its business model after launch.
