Tree of Savior Forum

Its not just doomsayers spreading huehue, the games literally empty now

No, you can definitely still chat while in queue. Access player shops as well as do things on your own like crafting and…(upgrading, but don’t do this as you’ll probably warp away from your item and lose it).

Doesn’t change that currently the game is going through a bunch of quality of life updates that really should have been here originally. Can’t imagine who wouldn’t think of this as something even big rollers would enjoy.

Frankly speaking, alot of addon functions provided by @Excrulon should have been game features instead of addons. So much should have been here ages ago, some is still not here.

ESO steam numbers are totally inaccurate for comparison since the vast majority use the native launcher

As for the topic, We have this from March:

Er, doesn’t that make ToS look even WORSE compared to Elder Scroll’s situation then?

It’s like “Hey, the vast majority use our native launcher and not steam. Despite that, our steam numbers still look better than Tree of Savior’s!”

Oh, that too! Makes it even worse for TOS in comparison.

Yeah it is. There’s no way ESO has only 5k online lol.

IMC is special in using only steam for its international servers. Most MMOs use their own launcher to avoid giving Valve a cut of their earnings.

Peak hour gaming is real in TOS and only dead MMOs have the phenomenon. All other mmos i ever played, queuing for instances takes less than 3 mins at any time.

I just checked the siege videos in ESO and damn there’s definitely still tons of participants, and that’s just on one of the servers. No FPS drop too!

I don’t understand how whiteknighting this game and silencing complainers could help improve it. I’ve worked as support for a SaaS before and while the occasional praises and thanks are nice, it’s actually the complaints that keep us on our toes, help shape our product as they make us realize the issues and that there actually is still room for improvement.

“The big lesson though is that for games of this type, you can fix problems and people will come back. You have to make sure you’re always telling people what you’re doing, that you’re open and honest, but it shows you can hit the right notes – even if it takes a little longer than you thought, you can be redeemed.”

If only IMC… if only.

Modern hardware is exponentially powerful compared to pre-2010, there is no technical reason to justify TOS’ extremely poor performance.

The original white knights don’t even have the decency to type anymore, they just instantly flag anything that moves and slip back into their IMC footie pajamas.
(like any post from gyro zapelli, he can type the word bacon with a period and its flagged and muted before it can get 40 views)

You guys still gotta keep in mind IMC is Korean company, and they hardly learn anything, cos’ most kr games in the international market are handled by local distributors who can handpick certain patches to apply at their respective servers.

ToS is basically the first korean MMO handled by their original kr devs in the international market. We all know korean game devs(or rather NEXON) pushes more $$$shilling strategies than actual game development/fixing.

These guys ain’t like Japanese that makes games for a living cos they like the entertainment games provides themselves. These guys(koreans) make games for a living simply cos’ there’s profit in it.

Western/Japanese makers actually listen to customers voice and slowly try to make a way for both players(have fun) and developers(keep $$$ rolling in) benefits.

Makes one think:
-was RO successful cos these IMC guys left
-would it’s early crash and burn be unsalvagable like ToS now if they(IMC) still handled it all?

Weird, on Fedimian I only get to wait 3 to 4 minutes and I do the event 5x3 times a day. Your server might be dead, but not all servers are like that.

Addons killed the game : D

Halloween event que takes less than aminute for me with my 2 characters. This is on telsiai though.

Without posting when you did, your statement is worthless. A game is considered dead if you are limited to peak hours when doing meaningful group activities.

To be fair, every new MMO loses a lot of it’s players in the first 6 months, though the population drop was very harsh in ToS. Notice how the Steam Chart shows how the drop in player count per month is slowing down, I think that suggests ToS is reaching a point where the amount of players stabilizes. The game is at a critical point where it should be a matter of continuing to develop the game, add good patches and new content and hope that people start noticing. That’s what happened with ESO.

The problem lies in the fact that RNG/Gacha/P2W is not a way to save your game, at least in the western market. Monetarily it might be a good thing to engage the whales, but even they will grow tired of the game at some point if they have no one to play with. It’s basically just a quick money grab.

Kim Hakkyu said that the game isn’t a cashgrab look at it now  , People should have noticed by now that they’re not planning any massive overhaul instead they’re just keeping the status quo putting up cashgrab features and milking of every last cent on the poor idiots that stayed. The game died a month after F2P.
