iTOS First Earth Tower 10/F Clear (Updated: News 07/08)

Congrats on the win @Veritas and party.

I’m interested in the quick peek build that you mentioned. How would a build like that look like regarding skills and stats? And how does it compare to other popular specialized builds like Wiz3/Ele3/WL // Cryo3/Chrono3? Also is it more of a party build or good for solo play too?

Edit: Kinda like this? http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/anx8tml4o1/

Going Full Int with a bit of Con I assume.

I would like to ask if a Cryo 1/Linker 2/Chrono 3 build would work for ET because my character is already a Cryo 1/Linker 2/Chrono 2 and I’m seeing a lot of Cryo3/Chrono3 people for ET =x

id like to make a full tank build (full CON). but i duno what classes are good, pelt3>rode3 / pelt3>squire3 / pelt1>something (is swashbulk lvl 5 enough, or its better to take it 15?)

or full tanks doesnt worth it?

whut u guys think?

@Medra - Seems to have most of the basic components. I’m not particularly well-versed at Wizard jobs (only class I never really played), so I can’t really give you absolute advice here. It seems to have most of the basic components though. Maybe max out Flesh Hoop though. I never really saw him use Create Shoggoth that often, or Gather Corpses. Necromancer C1 is also taken before Linker C3 to ease the leveling process, since the assets from Linker C3 are not all that useful until endgame. Likely more constitution based as well. The build is definitely more geared towards party play and versatility while primarily providing support. Burst damage is the side job.

@xyilence11 - That is fine. Linker contributes more damage than Cryomancer with a proper team composition that makes use of JP. I’ll parrot this again though: after a certain point you no longer need more damage to succeed in Earth Tower, even all the way through 20/F. The floors get increasingly dangerous and the need for CC and mitigation becomes increasingly higher, much faster than the need for damage.

@Lenny - I’ve discussed the importance of tanks quite a few times now. They can make any high-floor run a lot simpler provided you do have enough damage in the other classes you’re bringing. Being a Squire C3 does have its assets even if Squire doesn’t do too much inside the tower itself (yet). We’re pretty hard pressed to find a Squire to provide us food buffs every day, and it’d be made a ton easier if someone in my party was just a Squire C3 for that purpose, switch to their main character after (someone is working on this).

Kinda interesting, anyway can you say what FC means? and JP?

Wouldn’t something like this be better?

Wizard c1 - Cryomancer C1 - Psychokino C1 - Linker C3 - Rune caster

As his ice wall will do 3x more dmg then, or is necromancer there to sustain dmg while ice wall isn’t up.

I think Frost Cloud & Joint Penalty.

Ah thanks. Now i know.

Flesh Cannon and Joint Penalty.

Rune of Ice is nice, but without Wizard C3 takes forever to cast, along with Rune of Destruction. Flesh Cannon is quite easy to use, and does tremendous damage on linked targets.

Ah true, i’m currently looking to make a new char, so maybe i will roll another one. And something like that is interesting. Do you know maybe anybody with such kind of build? would be interesting to have.

Also does freeze get shared over the links?

Thanks.

Yes Freeze should be shared. Any status ailment apparently gets shared as long as it comes from a skill that deals damage to the bound enemy. But I might be wrong about this… I just read it somewhere.

How about this rainbow build instead? http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/1euwqmbqup/

Gather enemies together, place some pain (Pyro+WL) on the ground, that lasts for a while and freeze them in place + assist with Flesh Cannon. Does the ice break while doing that? I wonder if that build would be effective…and if 5 Links are enough (and viable for Earth Tower).

Hmm 3 mages 0 swordman. I guess you had at least an archer.

We would’ve cleared ET 7/F one week sooner when we started making breakthroughs if we had a swordsman. We had to basically devise a strategy around not having one, which was significantly harder.

Hey Mango, how effective would a Sword > Pelt C3 > Rodelero C3 be for Earth Tower? ^o.o^

@joeswaaz - Uh. Well… what else do you want to put in your later circles? Besides for maybe Fencer a tank only needs the Peltasta jobs to do what it needs to do. Pretty flexible. Your tank is fairly fine as it is. But yes, for now (unless a use for Arrest is found, or we truly need to do all 40 floors in a single run and may need maintenance), Squire doesn’t find much practical use except for outside the instance. Albeit a supremely useful purpose.

@xinronyr - Depends on what supporting comp is going with it. Stone Skin to mitigate any chance of physical damage taken while Slithering could be useful after Swashbuckling. High Kick into JP for an SR’s damage could also be very useful, having a compounding effect with Wizard’s Lethargy.

Yes I was asking primarily for SR support and Slithering, as well as CC with other abilities :3

Ah thanks for the build

Want something new to level, so this seemed interesting as i only have 2 chars atm, wiz3/ele3/wl1 ( but i find the defense to weak for it ), and cryo3/pyo3 ( really love this one ). but i kinda burn out at 240, as there is nothing new skill wise left to get :P.

So this one had a lot of new skill combinations that i didn’t have played yet. A

So i probably will go

wl1/link1/cryo1/kino1/linker3/necro1. Reason for linker 3 is that i have 1 class atleast maxed, i always like to have that. Also flesh cannon seems to be loads of fun to use with linker skills. Now i only have to figure out what to pick on kino and what to pick on necro, as i want to pet to be maxed skill wise.

actually i was considering main a tank, thats why i duno if i should get squire or rodelero

Some news about ET progression.

Hmm.

How do we break this news?

When we opened up the 10/F cube… we got Lv. 1 Earth Fragment. That’s the common drop from all the bosses, and you usually end up getting a ton of surplus of this material. It’s the boss essence that’s the limiting factor to get gear.

So I double re-rolled, and so did a teammate. He got x2 Lv. 1 Earth Fragment and x1 Gosarius Essence. The initial opening was the essence. I opened mine, and the initial opening was a fragment. Which means it’s completely RNG on the contents. The re-roll cost was also 300K, so the higher level cubes do cost more to re-roll (400K for 15/F cube, 500K for 20/F cube, assumed). You can spend 600K to double re-roll a cube and get what is essentially nothing.

There’s RNG and a tremendous money cost to get the higher up items.

The 5/F cube only has the boss essence, and we assumed the higher floor cubes would be the same. But it’s not. It’s basically 50-50 odds on what you need and something worth less than Talt.

This got demotivating fast.
