Item Stars @_@?

Does anyone know if these stars are a user upgradable thing? Is it a separate upgrade to the anvil+? Is It just a random thing that you get different stars when it drops?
Need general “Star info” here

Im not sure if there will be an item that change that, but as far as im seeing it would be like item quality (you know, like, common, magic, rare, unique…), i think not being able to upgrade them would be better, honestly this could cause more rage on some aspects, specialy if the required item is a CS one, then ppl wil start to cry P2W and what not.

I’m not sure but I never seen level 66 gear (For now there’s only lv1,15,40,75,120,170)
Anvil only upgrade +, Same equipment always have same stars.
Maybe that’s an item in old version.

The stars represent how high level it is in a sense. The farther you get into the game, into higher leveled places, the more stars the drops have.

Rarity is signified by the background colour.

(From my experience atleast.)

That could be the case too, less resources on game files to use the same item on different levels, so i guess quality would change the backgroud color like blue magic, yellow rare and so on? Well we gonna have to wait to get some confirmation, unless on Korean version theres already some info about it.

Yeah, i got the idea from Ragunaga post, i was just wondering if the background color would change too to differenciate, but since you just confirmed now im ready to farm some next time, that is, if they are implemented already lol.

Thats what im affraid of, i mean, if its a CS item, it will be so bad lol.

I don’t know I never seen it on equipment info. Only thing I seen is require level to use.

Well I ask KR player what’s star mean they say it’s quality/tier of item. That’s all I guess @_@

Ex. Lv 1 White = 1 Star
Lv 15 white/blue = 2 Stars / Lv 15 purple = 3 Stars
Lv 40 white/blue = 3 Stars / Lv40 Orange = 3 Stars / Lv 40 Purple = 4 Stars

Do you know what I think it’s weird in pic?
One on left say Rod while other one on right say staff.
In game this Aston Rod = Staff lv.170
Which is why I think lv66 one are pic from old version of TOS. @_@

CS = Cash Shop.

Im not a fun of those kind of items in the game CS.

I’m looking from auction house @_@
I was about to edit my msg to say it’s not same for all weapon type and level.
Those example only to compare low level item.
As I told you right now in game there’s only lv1,15,40,75,120,170
Lv75 white/blue staff is 4 stars as for orange and purple for lv 75… I’ve never seen one yet. OTL

At some high level ex. 170 white/blue staff have 6 stars. One purple is 6 stars and another one is 5 stars.
And yes, Orange have higher Rarity than purple. I suppose Quality/Tier are different from Rarity.
Unless IMC mess up some stuff. (That orange lv40 drop from boss have orange rarity while other weapon drop from same boss + same name for weapon are purple)

PS. I use EN ui with Steam language pack. Staff is Staff / Rod is Rod…

Well I only saying from what I saw to whatever you quote me back
How can you 100% confirm that it’s database from newest game update then?
You can try look in github in item database though, and see how many Aston Rod in there.

It’s just a separate way of information. If you think it’s an item level from database then that’s your thought/information. While mine thought and information are in all I say in my older reply. I didn’t force anyone to trust my information or say my information are correct.

But you should know game itself keep update up in each version. Even UI in older beta are not same as current one we play.

If you think I’m only look from AH then you’re wrong since I was asking player around too to explain me what star is about before I posting about it. Those mention about item lv thing is only my thought and it’s not even relate to the topic since I was wondering why I’m not see it in game and both thing in pic have same name / different star / different type of weapon. Whatever just respect each other thought. Public forum we all have right to post our thought.

I’m only looking at databases, If you’re looking at the AH in game then your probably right =P

I appreciate it, thank you for helping with the information. It was very helpful. Sorry for saying you were driving me crazy >_<

You were very helpful! <3

Maybe too late to reply but I’m pretty sure Item Level is just how much of the main stat is has so if you have a level 15 required level with an item level of 40, your level 15 is like a level 40 weapon  that’s what I got from the database as well as from the items in game (showing the same damage levels as in the database).

Otherwise, the level requirements for weapons is like you said.

According to syKim (developer),

★ is the item grade.

The color represents the item uniqueness.
normal - brown
magic - blue
rare - purple
unique - orange

Even with the same item, additional options or Potential may be added depending on the color.

The reason I mention about it is because I wonder why I’m not see in game. And how 2 rod/staff in picture with same name isn’t same in both attack/star. It’s not even relate to star lol XD
I didn’t mean to deny it exist or not. If it’s not show in game then it’s not show and that’s why I can’t see it in game as both of you said.

My curiousness never end. Sorry if I happen to ruin some mood in this thread. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

You were probably right and it’s just an old database information. (why they have different stars and attack) I won’t look on there anymore since it seems to be out of date =x

(I ruin the mood not you =P)

Its good to be curious on this, we will need more info so we can play more efficiently lol.

Its what i thought, its the same principle of Path of Exile, i got a bunch of level 10-30 items with iLVL 60+ and the stats it generate after using alchemy orbs are way higher than the same items with close ilvl to the wear level lol.
But that dont apply to unique items, they have a fixed range of stats.
