Item Drops on Death; Why halfhearted?

I don’t normally carry valuable items, but since this is a beta test, nothing is valuable except feedback. That said, I had a party member lose gems on death. At first, I had no clue what that was, but ignored it. When I found out that it was drops for gems you pick up, I had to ask myself “What’s the point?”

I got to thinking on the purpose of this, but all I could think of is “Why halfhearted?” Why not drop ALL items, or NONE at all? Looking at the rarity of things, gems aren’t that valuable or worth dropping. Cards, materials, excess gear, and so on makes more sense due to their weight, but a few gems and nothing else?

If this will remain in the main game, please make ALL non-quest items drop as well. If not that, then no item drops at all. It’s ridiculous for just one moderately useful item rather than more valuable items. Of course this means children will complain harder, but there’s a storehouse for a reason, no?

Oh God please no.
This is such a stupid thing do to. You would be the first to complain if you even die once cause of lag or computer problems when you lose your high gear stuff. It also would end in people pretending to be afk waiting for someone to die and then “coming” just to take up all the stuff before you even could resuract.

The words of someone unaware of the actual properties of Gems and why the other things matter.
Regardless… do you really want veteran players luring newbies into death traps so they can loot their gear because the newbies would need iCoin to revive to loot their stuff?

Such obvious griefing concepts should be anticipated.
At least with if you know what you can drop you’ll store them anyway.
