Hey there everyone,
Just bought the 10,99 founders package with a bunch of friends and was just launching the game to hear the title screen music when I encountered what I assume is something going. My friends can all load ToS to get to the title screen, but when I hit play a smaller window first pops up that looks like a patch client. This window hangs around for 5~10 seconds and then simply dissapears and nothing occurs afterwards. The actual game never launches. I hope to get this issue resolved before launch day as I am super hyped to play ASAP!
could you post a screenshot of it, also check that the process are running on task manager…

I can’t get a screenshot atm but when I check the task manager what happens is:
- ToS Launcher starts running fine. (The launcher says 100%)
- After 5 seconds, the ToS Launcher status changes to “Not Responding” and shortly afterwards closes itself.
At which point steam also realizes this and does not say that I am currently playing ToS anymore. I hit play again and the same thing happens.
I restarted my computer, updated steam… nothing.
do you have both direct x and visual C++ installed?
you may need to just reinstall tos

I don’t know, no where did anything say I needed specific plug ins to play. All my other steam games work perfectly fine, and my friends literally just downloaded steam, downloaded ToS, and it works :S so confused. Maybe just uninstalling steam entirely?
Make sure your DirectX is up to date and that you are running steam as a admin.

How do I make sure my driverX is up to date?
I just updated my windows 7 operating system to windows 10 thinking that would help… no luck. Same issue persisting.
