i have made a build with Hoplite C3 and Fencer C2
currently at Hoplite C3 early
if you really going Hoplite-Fencer, you will have to give up Finestra, and combo with Spear Lunge, the issue would be weapon swapping, i found the lag between weapon swapping disturbing
i saw a video of fencer using finestra with a rapier…
Probly just shared buff thru linker, since Finestra is a stance buff and gets canceled when switching to any weapon that is not a spear.
thought that as well but, i actually saw him/her cast finestra with a rapier on using fencer skills, check the buff and its still there so i guess worth the try… i already invested 5pts to finestra,

I have a HopFencer too and to be quite honest it’s not so great being centered in a specific damage type when against cloth armor type bosses, specially right now that delay from weapon swapping can be fatal in rank8.

The whole point of hoplite 3 is to gain access to the level 15 FInestra buff, and building your character around the mechanic.
In order for you to fully make play of the mechanic, your stat distribution should be solely placed into STR.
The problem here is that this game punishes you HARD for being paper.
So make no mistake, hoplite is the Swordsmen’s path of kings. And just like it always is in most of these custom character creation RPG’s, the melee glass cannon works on paper, but gets burned hard in reality.
Save the hoplite for when you have fully maxed armor to compensate for the lack of con/dex placement.
TL DR: Hoplite is the swordie path of kings.
