English is not my main language but, if i undestood what you said, how can we force GPU rendering? or thats something only the developers can do?
Hello ! you must have it always hope in this game? I like this game but it is on the verge of making me go ⦠It is still too young, too fps problems, I see myself doing a boss with 10fps, the new classes that come out and everyone wants a reset because we can not plan our route in advance, it becomes too complicated.
To where Iām getting at is that the game is worth it? Do I really have to invest hundreds of hours of play, to ultimately be disgusted concerns that will remain unresolved ā¦
At first I was willing to pay my monthly subscription, but I became a casual players in doubt.
Itās not my main language either, but Iāll try to expand a bit on the subject.
In most cases itās something only the developers can do. Itās usually part of the design and coding, although a mod could change that quite a bit. The way ToS is right now, most tasks are designed to run on the CPU, which is a multipurpose processor, unlike the dedicated processors in the GPU, which handle different specific aspects of graphic/model content.
The devs could add an option to force GPU hardware acceleration so it helps the CPU, but I donāt know how much that would help. They need to redesign and recode probably too much to natively support GPU and multi-core CPUs (read: difficult task, probably will never happen)
From our side, there are a few things we can try. I havenāt tested any of this, so donāt take my word for it.
- Both NVidia and AMD control panels for graphic cards have options to offload rendering and 3D modeling tasks to GPUs in specific applications. Go in there, set your graphic card as the main rendering hardware for ToS and run it, check if it makes a difference.
- The same control panels let you change graphics settings globally (for all applications), try reducing quality to minimum and fiddle with the options, test every change in ToS for possible FPS gains.
- Overclock your CPU! If you have a real gaming PC, overclock it, aim for 10% and check how much is your FPS gain, if itās worth it for you, get better cooling and push the CPU further.
Thatās all I can think about. If you can tag the staff maybe theyāll give us a robo-answer and pass the feedback to the devs. I just think anything we come up with is probably more efficient in terms of how we spend our time.
you are just watching around 7-10 people? go inside where the market npc is,i have similar fps like that and only have 14-35fps when i see 30+ people, what is your graphic card sir?
It pretty much the same 15-20 FPS for GvG and 45-60 for the rest. Some times over 60 but it is not common.
The fps problems this game has will never be fixed by a better PC or graphic effect tweaks - itās in their netcode. As long as the game continues waiting for server responses to draw frames all around you, the game will always slow to a crawl when other players are in your screen.
It is not and probably never will be.
Basically, this is why our auto attackās timing is crap
Itās not and bots make it even more unstable because their spam actually breaks the server.
Tbh thereās nothing in this world that imc can do to fix the bot problem, you see all f2p games have them the only way they can be stopped is by making the game subscription based a.k.a pay to play this way the only botters youāll see are the 3pp users a.k.a @Avidity other than making this game p2p nothing else can stop the real bots from coming
I say give the registrants 2 days to 5 days at most of free access to check out if the game is worth investing if they see it not then they can move on and find another game, our token benefits should then be automatically given to us once we take the subscription
but anyways this isnt my game and im just a player but im saying this to yāall IMC can put all the restrictions they want to prevent the bots from doing what they want to do and hurt theyāre player base but they canāt stop the bots from wrecking this game.
Yep, bots are impossible to kill, you can only minimize the spam with filters or stuff like that, but even WoW with montlhy fee have lots of bots, but they manage to stop the chat spam from them, i will wait untill some FPS fix
i wouldnt even give a ā ā ā ā about bots if their wasnt so many restrictions killing the legit players ability to do ANYTHING
bots mostly thrive on game mechanics/genre. iāve played dragon nest and warframe and i have yet to see people complaining about bots. although, you can argue that itās not an appropriate comparisonsince ToS is mostly an open world MMO. for the past decade that RO has existed, it has yet to get rid of bots completely in commercial servers. so itās either mods/admin/GMs rigorously hunt for them (which is an undending tedious job) or do drastic changes to the game design
I put the Performance option into Auto and it improved the game.
