Hello, I’m new. Just started downloading ToS. Was wondering if this game is worth getting into, because I heard it has a lot of game-breaking bugs, and the spell effects don’t look very good… Should I bother with this game?
No, and to the people who are like “well then why are you here” b/c we have 950-1000 hours into this mess so we are gonna stay praying for things to change until they turn the lights off.
3 months in the game is literally more unstable now then it was at the launch of early access, day 1 it didn’t take 8-14 times to open the game, there weren’t channels being crashed every hour to manipulate world bosses or duplicate world boss cubes. There are more rmt now then ever before, check the tos marketplace facebook and other social clubs, they have more active members then the entire current population of any given server. Shall I go on?
No, it didn’t. It just took a 3+ hour queue time.
@OP don’t listen to garbage like this. It’s a false narrative written by angry playres who haven’t gotten their way. They want the perfect game which doesn’t exist. ToS has it’s problem, but it definitely worth playing. I promise you will be happy from lvl 1-200. Afterwards, you may or may not like the game, depending on what you are looking for.
Yes, it worth playing.
Worth playing, if you stay or like the game is of your own decision. Don’t let the doom and gloom of the forums get you down, try the game and see if you like the style.
However, if you are new, I recommend leveling up something rather cookie-cutterish in terms of builds so you can progress more smoothly and make enough money to fund alternates.

Totally worth it. Specially if you love rpgs, if you played RO and enjoyed it, if you like to play with your friends, make more friends and record videos of your adventures, and have patience and respect. But if you are inmature and you want the admins and other owners of the game to hurry up and to give things to you just because you said so, and when you’re not even paying for this, then this game is not for you. If you want to demand for everything and you can’t imagine how hard is to design a game, and if you can’t even design something, but still demmand, is not for you.
The game is pretty cute, have a lot of classes and ways to build your character. No one can tell you how to do it because there’s not a correct and wrong way. The owners are still adding more patches, classes and things to make it a lot better so you will never know when this will stop surprising you. It’s still has a lot of bugs, but It works pretty well.
For me it is a really good game. Specially for the hidden quest which I love to discover.
So now you know what they said when things are not like we wanted to be…
yesh, especially if u are excited at the classes. u can literally spend hours or even days just looking thru http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/
its free, so it doesnt hurt to download and judge for yourself.
the one thing that i see alot of complaints about for new users being limited from the Market for a week or whatever, so if thats something gamebreaking for you, then just log in, make a character, and come back in a week.
Dunno man, but the skill effects are actually a little gorgeous. Or the animations are, anyways. Though I play a chrono so I guess I’m just happy with it.
you will enjoy the game until probably lv145. and then you will be reduced to just logging on to do your dailies after a 200+. the reason why im still here is because i have hopes that this game will improve. as of now you will hate every other player you come across due to the lack of spawn and channels in those cancerous grind spots. demon prison, bee farm, alemth, storage and evac. but have hope if you decide to invest your free time in this game you are going to need alot of it.
If you don’t mind
a) the bots, AFK farmers which will make your grinding/farming life hard
b) the RMTers spamming in the main cities’ channels
c) the exploits that IMC seems to be oblivious about
d) the horrendous spawn rates
e) the unexplained lags, frame drops, and game crashes
f) the very linear storyline forcing you to go through the same quests every time you start a new character
g) starting over from scratch everytime the new Ranks come out, making your current build null/sh~t.
h) the incompetent support from IMCs - if you ever have a problem with the game in any way, expect several days before you get a reply and even then the reply you get may be so bad you wish you had not even bothered
i) the 50% tax placed on the merchant classes
j) spending hours researching to get the perfect build for you and then starting over when the new ranks come out (refer to g)
k) the okay-ish soundtrack
l) the beautiful scenery, which you will see more often than not when it’s your 100th attempt at making a new character
Then yes, this game is made just for you.
Oh and also bring a friend along to play, cause it’s MMO.
P.s. Also this game has just been released to the public for 3 months… I think? So yeah, what I said above may change for the better… or for the worse =_=
P.s.s. Did I mention this game has a LOT of restrictions also? XP
Don’t pay them any money until they fix their ■■■■ and clean up the consequences of mass exploits. If that’s never, never pay em’.
yes bring a friend from real life because you aren’t going to make any in this game. you will hate everyone you see as you quest. they kill those mobs you need and harvest those herbs for that quest you want to complete and you’ll have to wait a long time for them to spawn.
Imo, u will either hate it right from start due to bots, rmt spam and bugs or u will love it and play long enough to hate it.
People shouldn’t care about spammers. You can always block and report. And never heard of them again in your virtual life ~♥
you see in real life you can easily ignore spammers like pebbles and trees. but in tos they can spam enough to drop your fps on your high end gaming rig. not only that, they are also very intrusive, they spam whisper your character. in real life you don’t see cult recruiters breathing by your shoulder.
The game is fun and caters to a bit of a niche audience at times. That being said, it’s perfectly enjoyable and I spend time in game every day. I highly encourage you to check it out after tuesday morning. We’re getting a big update, and it might be frustrating to get started now and then there be some problems with getting in after the update.
ToS IS a little on the buggy side but stuff is being updated and worked on. The GM/staff can be a little quiet at time but they are around here on the forums. I’d also think carefully about which server you choose, depending on your location as the cash shop (if you use it) currency is restricted by area rather than across all the servers. Trying to think of any other basic tips or anything. aaaaah.
Take everything you see on the forums with a heaping spoonful of salt. There’s a lot of very different opinions and most of the forum goers are very passionate about their viewpoint.
There’s a lot of flexibility for class and stats so I recommend looking into that for what seems fun. Don’t worry about the meta/endgame builds because the game’s not finished rolling out the level cap yet and builds are constantly changing (we’re getting more soon).
Have fun, ask questions and be friendly. ^_^a
The game is generally fun, but its much better to have a group of friends to play with. Its much more rewarding to play in a party (aside from the current party quest bug) and socializing with people. Try getting your friends in or start up a random conversation with someone, who knows that that person could be your reason of coming back into the game.
