Is this a viable tank/damage build?

Hi there, I am looking to be a Tanky Peltasta with some nice Damage on the side. I will play at times with a Priest and also a Wizard.
Looking at builds I found this one that caught my attention, even though its not in the top builds for the best of something, there are a few classes that interest me like Peltasta, Barbarian and Squire. This build also includes Templar at the end, and I also like Rodelero which is added maybe to help me as a tank.

This is the build. Any comments, thoughts or suggestions for what I want?

I just started and I mainly play casually. Just want to at least get the classes right and if later on I need to reset stats I guess I could.

Hi there, I can say that’s a fun build to play because I’m playing something similar, Pelt>Barb2>Rod 1 (going for 2)>Dopl. Saying that I’ll drop Squire for Rodelero 2.

Rodelero C1 is not worth at all, you need the minimum C2 for Slithering. Other option is to drop Rodelero C1 for either Barbarian 3(dmg & attributes) or Squire early(food & basecamp for guild).

So it’s up to you what to focus, Rodelero is good in PvP/GvG scenario Squire & Barbarian are better for PvE.

Squire 1 is bad, Rodelero 2 gives you immunity to magic as well as it doubles your strike output, which is great for helm chopper, umbo and rim blow.

That’s awesome, I would most definitely try out that build. You’re saying Rodelero should be taken to C2 for Slithering, sorry to ask as I’m really new, but what exactly is this good for? And is it worth picking C2 just for that skill or what else exactly?
Also you’re going for Dopl. which is of an opposite to be a tank no? Since he has high risk per reward, making many of its skills not go well as a tank.
Any notes on that?

Rodelero is Slithering gives you magic immunity, but not CC. Magic is the most problem when comes to tank, so grab that is useful in both pve & pvp. But yeah, C2 is just because of that.

If you don’t want to make this build for GVG then Squire C2 is better, since you’ll level up other charc.

About Dopl is because is a class that can fit in any place and be good. You only going to activate the DoV when facing magic mobs to kill them fast, and on this build it’ll be when Slithering is on cd. Besides that you can Montano + Cyclone, since the target will have slow it make easy to hit.

Thanks a lot for the info. I’m still very new for most of these skills for now anyways, the main reason I’m looking at my build ahead of time is because I can’t go back after choosing and either though I may regret something later down the road I want to get enough fun out of it.

Right now I’m playing the game because its just too nostalgic from the first days of RO I used to play, but not sure how long I will stick or how far I’m even gonna get.

I’m probably going to be following your build as its really similar to what I want. My brother is making a Priest and my gf a Pyro, so this build should be more than enough to tank, have damage if I’m alone and have fun :smiley:

What exactly is DoV? Still not sure about taking Dopl, but that’s far away from what I am now (lvl 20 Pestalta lol)

Barbarian is fun with Peltasta so don’t worry about that, and when you reach Rodelero 1 you can call 1v1 and watch people cc chain forever haha.

DoV = Deeds of Value, is a Dopl buffs so don’t worry about :slight_smile:

I’m not worried, I forgot to mention I always wanted to have Barbarian into the mix haha.
I checked out more on the Doppelsoeldner, and other than the name being hard write, I’m liking the high risk, high reward play, such a badass too. What are the known skills dor the dopl? I was checking the DoV too, is that what you would use against magic mobs/players?

I wasn’t really planning on focusing much in PvP because I don’t even know if I would ever make it that high lol. But its good to have the option to be able to PvP also. Is your build also good for pvp?

Dopl skills are Cyclone(dmg), DoV & Double Pay Earn(exp). DoV increase your attack damage & speed but decrease your physical defense. Since Magic can’t be block or dodge is better to gain more damage to killed fast.

If your picking Rodelero you’re already good at pvp. Rodelero is not much of a Tank is more like a CC machine, 3 knockdown, 1 slow & 1 stun.
