Is there any point in getting a good weapon on a chap?

I’m quite exausted on thinking about if it’s a good idea to invest so much on a weapon on my chaplain.
I’m aware my build isn’t supposed to deal a lot of damage (Cleric 2 - Chaplain - Kabal 2) but I love the character.
I can solo with him thanks to his hp and self healing but I’m hitting 2k per line and around 3k on Aspergillum line.I tried recently to change him to a int build and got quite disapointed.I was hitting 5.5k-6k on Aspergillum at HG 320.
I’m thinking that investing on a weapon would be overkill,I got over 200 blessed shards and I’m worried they will be used for nothing.
I’m also dissapointed in the buff overload I have to give to my party just to hit a little.I’m not sure sacra,bless and last rites are usefull besides destroying objects.

Would anyone with a better weapon be able to give me good insights about it?Is it ok to invest on a weapon for chaplains?I’m collecting materials to craft a skull smasher but I’m getting unsure of what to do.

No, no point at all. The whole game bacame P2W trash now, so, in your case I wouldn’t even bother.

Aspergillium’s AA line scales from your Aspersion’s damage, be sure to have it at lv15/16/17 to maximize the damage of it. Aspersion is a magic skill so it scales off your MATK (322% at lv15). having 2000 matk for example will make it hit for 6400 (not applying the target’s mdef to the formula).

Last Rites scales off Sacrament, which scales off SPR solely, same for Blessing.

Same as above and that investing in skull smasher gives you 78 SPR which is +146 to blessing (and further increased by attribute) multiplied by your damage line. Also it gives you HP.

I tried using the stage 10 +11 windia rod. Aspersion deals good dmg around 20k (If blessing applies tho) to vilkas/vilkas archer in 290 dungeon. So if 4 line of damage it would be around 32k per hit to non-dark mobs. Aspergillum could hit 42k to dark mobs (vary with target mdef, tested it on elma and nuka at Michmas Temple). So i think its still viable for endgame if you want to invest for 315 practo purple rod/mace or even 315 orange hog/skull smasher.

But the only thing that annoy me is, you could miss or be blocked due to lack of STR/DEX (Yes, i tested it on full SPR lol).

First of all, I’d like to say thanks for the answers.

@Anarth
Any suggestion for skill distribution?I left my aspersion on 1 so I could invest on other skills.I always thought I couldn’t go 15 aspersion and blessing due to how my other skills would end up.Maybe aspersion on 4 and blessing on 15 so I could invest on the other skills?I will reset again tomorrow and go back to the original build(Wanted to try monk for a while).I’m thinking about doing this skill distribution: https://tos.neet.tv/skill-planner#411222cff.1a29315565.143f455165759a.153545.113a4552627595
Stats: 300 spr rest on con.(I like some con :stuck_out_tongue: Personal preference)

True…I’ll stick the my HG blue mace as far as I can go while I gather the materials…I have 2 mystic cubes that didn’t give me practonium yet so the practoniums worries are done for.

@farizzed
The block part doesn’t bother me due to chaplain atribute to increase block penetration, but the dodges are a bit annoying. I don’t get blocked by the 320 HG mobs while it’s activate.

:thinking: Since you are not getting DEX I suppose you can ditch Monstrance.

@Anarth Revive at 1?Why?

There is nowhere else you can take the points from to add to revive.

You’ll require to do one of the following if you do not like Revive at 1:

*Ditch aspersion level, and damage.
*Ditch exorcise
*Ditch Mass Heal
*Ditch Revive altogether.

I think that putting Mass Heal to 1 will work, as the skill heals like a truck with Ein Sof’s attribute.

@Anarth
Thanks, I’ll think a little and decide what to do…We still have a week to test it so I can check each possibility and see what I like most.
