So, I took a quick look at the Japanese version of ToS and surprisingly, they are going to wipe all character data after they finish testing. Now, I don’t know Japanese and I could be wrong about this because this is just google translate.
So, lets go to the main question, is this going to happen to the international version?

Yes, JP CBT will be wiped afterwards. It’s a CBT, so it’s only natural that they would do so.
If international version has a CBT2, it will likely be wiped too. OBT is another matter.
Could be that IMC wants more data on early lvls so wiping it gives them a second round of low lvl data when the 2 cbt eventually happens.

OBT is more likely to have a wipe at the end then a CBT.

Dude…there will ALWAYS be a wipe in every single closed beta game of every game EVER. This always happens, I wish people would stop making threads like this because they always hold on to this false hope that their characters will be still there after a closed beta. There are tons of reasons why there is always a wipe , (one of the main reasons is because it’s not fair to people in the open beta or launch if there are people already max level at launch…) Stop making threads like this and the answer is always YES THERE WILL BE A WIPE AFTER CLOSED BETA.
I thought it was normal to wipe after a CBT. It is normally OBT that doesn’t which makes sense and is how it should be.
It wouldn’t be fair to give a small number such a huge advantage. For an OBT that is not an issue since literally anyone who is interested in the game could start once the OBT goes live.
This is not even taking into account if they are still making changes to the game (Which they obviously still are) which can lead to other really unfair advantages to people in the CBT.
Explain why I still have my beta character from dragon’s nest. Not every game does a data wipe after beta is over.
I need a legitimate proof that the international version is or isn’t going to do this.
Just flag all these threads,mute them and move on.
I doubt you will find proof either way unless it comes from IMC themselves, and I doubt that would happen until they release more information about the next testing phase. That information just doesn’t exist yet.
And, you may be able to come up with a few rare cases where CBT character info is carried over but the fact remains that the vast majority wipe after CBT, to such an extent that people think it always happens.
Normally, the Test consists of CBT > Stress Test > OBT then the Official Version.
CBT: Beta Key holders can participate. There’s a wipe after.
Stress Test: Anyone can participate. There’s a wipe after.
OBT: Anyone can participate. Most games don’t wipe. Some do wipe.
As for ToS, CBTs do wipe. no date/announcement yet for Stress Test and OBT so we can’t say for sure. 
Lots of games don’t wipe when going from CBT to CBT2 for example. But as we can see ToS does.
I have been in many betas and i have NEVER seen a game not wipe after OBT. What game were you on that didn’t and are you sure it wasn’t a steam early access thing because that’s not the same as OBT?
While that’s usually true there as been some CBT that din’t have wipes like FFXIV. The game went CBT > Early access > Rental.
Aerial Games normally doesn’t wipe after obt, they go straight into full release. 3 examples from Aerial Games would be Grand Fantasia, Eden Eternal, and Aura Kingdom. Speaking from personal experience, Aerial didn’t wipe those games after obt.
X Legends out of Taiwan developed those games and I do believe their gamesite don’t get wiped after obt. Could be just a thing they do.
All games i have not heard of is Aerial a smaller publisher/developer? Because i did betas from games such as ragnarok, aion, WoW, lineage 2, and more and i have never seen this from any of them.
Or maybe it has to do with the game genre are all of those mmorpgs?
You can say its “Normal” but there’s still a possibility they are going to keep the character data.
@thebloodyaugust it may just be a more recent practice (the games you list seem a bit older), all of the obt’s i’ve done recently have had kept progress – but really they’re usually only like 2 or 3 days and then it goes live… so idk what purpose it serves other than the title obt gives them an excuse for when problems arise as they get used to the influx of players…??
@ Thread – Considering most of us didn’t make it very far in the game I don’t think it would be a bad idea for them to not wipe between the international cbt’s, but please do not be surprised if all data from the cbt was wiped though. It’s definitely not unheard of – Especially if cbt’s are being wiped in the other regions.

There is a possibility that I’ll die right after writing this post. Anything is possible but me dying after writing this post is as likely to happen as the ToS CBT characters being transferred to OBT/Full Release.
Developers don’t even have to mention something like this because it’s normally implied when you hear that the game is in Closed Beta Testing.
