well a low level character (10 - 200) can easily farm orbs from monsters since those have low health you can mown then down with basic attacks without much effort, and have many places where to get orbs because map selection are wide over those level gaps.
when you are 290-330 you dont have many choices and monsters start to have high HP pool and you might need a good weapon to take them down quickly so you dont going to farm like 5 orbs in 10 minutes.
you can also make a party with low level characters and kill the mobs for them while you get orbs that way you dont need to pay for more character slots and can easily farm those
