The steam page and the forums news says that the game is open at 2 AM EDT, which is approximated to 3 AM EST. But, other people are saying that that time is wrong, and that the game is released at 2 AM EST. Can someone please tell me which time is right?
It is indeed EDT. Our staff was unaware of the terminology when they initially made the announcement.
As long as I’m here I’ll continuously remind our team about DST and how that may confuse players, as Korea doesn’t observe DST.

I’m from that time zone and we get confused about the terminology over here too. I think it has to do with spring forward change in spring and fall back in fall. X_X

I don’t know if maybe calling it Eastern Time (ET) is something that might be possible.

I don’t think PST is being observed right now but PDT is.
I think it would actually be at 11 pm for PDT but not sure.
Or you could just use this countdown that someone else conveniently made.
Why not use UTC(former GMT) instead? It is an International release so there is no need to use one country’s specialized time because it is headache for players from other parts of the world.
Also “The switch to daylight saving time does not affect UTC. It refers to time on the zero or Greenwich meridian, which is not adjusted to reflect changes either to or from Daylight Saving Time.”
