I have a question to present to all of you:

Is the auto party search really worth it?

Sure, you might receive 150% exp more than people who run a pre-made party with all 4 character archetypes.

But this makes no difference in the end.

In the level 50 dungeon, someone who uses all 3 dungeon runs in a pre-made with EXP tome, between someone who uses all 3 dungeon runs in a auto-search party with EXP tome, the pre-made will end up level 62, auto will end up level 65.

At higher levels, it doesn’t even make much of a difference since EXP from dungeons slowly declines.

Now ask yourself:

Is it really worth it to put myself through the pain of partying in an auto-made party?

Most of the time, your party will SUCK. Either, they don’t know how to play the game, can’t communicate, and your team composition will be bad as well.

You could end up with no healer, no dps, no tank; something that might not make it favorable to go with auto-made parties.

Sometimes, you won’t even finish the dungeon, because your team sucks so much that it takes them the whole hour time limit to just get up to the boss.

Even worse; you could end up with a boss rusher, who uses the auto-party search just to spite people, and were too selfish to not go in solo, or look for a boss-rushing party.

But;

Most of these problems don’t exist in a pre-made party.

In a pre-made party, your composition will be most likely better, usually featuring a cleric, a tank, 2 dps, and a linker, making the dungeon run much faster.

Also, people in a pre-made party also have met each other, making communication easier between people.

So.

Is the auto party search really worth it?

It might be in the level 50 and 90 dungeons.

But after that?

NOPE.

tl;dr

You’re better off going with a pre-made party.

U can just find like a tanker and a healer in your pt and put on quee at the same time u will enter the same instance

In my opinion the most commum problem of the APS is getting in a Team without healer. Since this is impossible to happen to me… I am fine getting 120% monster xp then 90%.

The problem is. These 600% vs 450% might not even be the actual numbers.

I tested on Lv175 dungeon.
Queue 5/5 = my exp bar increased by 18%
Premade 5/5 with 4 main classes = 12%

Difference is that, queue have 50% better exp compared to premade.

a tip if healers are your problem, search every channel for a cleric-class facing on the dungeon post, chances are he is queuing or trying to enter. I get clerics in queue most of the time by doing this, not always, though.

and if a dungeon is too long or very hard to do without a cleric — example, level 190 dungeon upper side, skip that area, it isn’t worth and you’ll get timed out. talk with your members and decide, better than using bonfire 70% of the time. or even better, just discuss if rushing is better since you got no cleric or take the exp and rush once time is almost out.

To each his own, I don’t see how one is better than the other as an option.

The extra experience you would get is worth the risk especially if you are 150+ already. It will save your grinding time. But if ever you didnt get a healer, it will be a hard dungeon what supposed to be an easy one.

Well, since my character can both heal and tank, personally I wont have this happening. So for me, yes its worth it.

Havent had this happen yet, but that could be down to luck.

Are you just saying that because you want more healers and tanks to join premades instead of doing search? xD

Usually its not bad to auto party search but after last night, I’ve been drained of my will to play. Got a nice party with triple barbarian, one peltasta (me) and an archer (QS?). We didn’t even finish the dungeon. I think auto party search needs to prioritize clerics because without a cleric the dungeon runs simply take forever. The dungeons are timed too, if you take too long they boot you out.

All my dungeons runs from the party finder are smooth…up to the 160 dungeon(Im 162). I guess because I’m a cleric full support. :wink:

There was this one rusher in the 90 dungeon but thats it.

well im not even afraid to queue on auto party search , why ? because im a full support cleric :stuck_out_tongue:
