Is Skull Smasher still the best weapon for a Chap-Zealot?

From my knowledge, only the 350 HG weapon (i.e. Raffye, Berthas, Primus) and Masinios Mace are the closest competitors. SS still seems to provide the best amount of SPR (unless you consider Masinios Rod, which however offers zero PAtk), and still have decent amount of attack (not that far off from the previous two mentioned).

Thoughts?

If you have 2 practoniums for free and plan to stay at 4/5trans, the weapon is fine for the price, also the +3 potential compared to Primus.
On the other hand if you want a Primus +11 be prepared to lose at least 1 or 2 weapons to bad rolls.

It’s still okay, but I think Masinios Mace is currently the best weapon since it gives you that chance to proc an additional lightning damage line. Really great for content like challenge mode since that damage line isn’t reduced by mobs’ defense. SPR can be obtained through other gear anyway.

And you get 5 slots instead of 3 plus they coming up with an item to avoid consuming potential when socketing your weapon or gear.

What do you put in the offhand?

A Raffye SPR shield. )

EDIT: It’s only 100 per slot, i got confused, still not worth it

since when 1h weapon like mace can open 5 slots??

Talking about the 2 handed

1500 bless shards is easy to get or buy …0_0…

1500 shards easy?.. man when was the last time u saw the light of the sun?

What I though it was 100 per slot.

but this thread starter is comparing about skull smasher with 350 mace and rod(all of them are 1h weapon), out of nowhere you replied with 2h weapon partial fact and your reply seems like a continuation from previous poster who mentioned about Masinios Mace. That is misleading and implicitly off-topic, sire

Skull Smasher isn’t also a 2 handed mace ?_? dot dot dot…

SIRE!

skull breaker is 2h mace. skull smasher is 1h weapon

it’s 100 per slot, i got confused @frould.

Still, your weapon has to be at 0 potential, so you have to empty it out with diamond anvils.
Imagine having a +16 weap with 4-5 potential left and poking it out normally to reach 0.

If you have a +16 weap and 4-5 pots left all you have to do is socket it until it reaches 0 potential then whatever is leftover you can golden socket…don’t necessarily have to use diamond anvils…

If you have a 1 handed weapon with 2 potential left and +16/11, it means you gambled at 3 potential left with a +15/10 on it. What are the probabilities of being in that situation? Everyone at +16 and upper would use a diamond anvil on that weapon if he’s sane, even if it costs a lot, as if you golden anvil past +11 it gets to +10 on fail.
Don’t count on those sockets unless that’s a definitive weapon you want to power up to the extreme.

Yes. Either way, it gives you more freedom with what you want to do with your potentials, and the golden socket gives you the opportunity to get up to 5 extra pots that you would otherwise need to save for socketing.

And of course you wouldn’t use golden sockets unless it’s a good weapon. Who in their right mind would waste 100 shards/socket on trash

Some synergies that Masinios have with Zealot.
