Is Pally Restoration that much of a joke?

For the longest time I’ve honestly thought pally restoration (both hp and sp from attribute) augments all sources of restoration, pots, and bonfires included.

However, truth spoke otherwise, and I felt cheated, like a lot(especially for the sp resto).

Has it always been intended to not synch with pots and bonfires, or am I just missing something?

It applies a boost to recovery and regen in a sense that its not item-based. Your base regen is increased for both HP and SP respectively under the influence of Restoration. With the full 50 SP attribute, If i sit down every once in a while during fights, I almost never run out of SP with no SPR in my build.

Campfire and Potions do not increase base regen, they add a second regen table ontop of your base. If you notice while sitting at a campfire, you will occasionally heal your HP twice. This is because your Base regen went off at the same time as your Campfire regen. Same for Pots, they add a secondary table ontop of normal regen.

In short, Restoration increases base Regen and healing from abilities. It does not increase item-based regeneration methods. Still a really good ability as it adds ontop of the normal healing, while providing reliable SP regen during fights (Just sit for a second every once in a while).

You’ve pretty much cleared my fog save for [quote=“Mioure, post:2, topic:115635”]

How? The base sp-regen tick seems almost non-existent -_- At what interval does it tick on avg?

Edit: Oh I guess I get it, it’s a trick right? To force 1 base regen tick whenever you sit?

SP Regen ticks every 20 seconds (as far as I know), but at least for me it doesn’t tick at all if I’m holding auto.

If you sit during fights I believe it ticks faster.

You got it, yeah. ( Your edit )

Actually, Campfire regen is half of your HP/SP regen stat every 2s. (and sitting regen is 10s, standing 20s)

@Rofldat its half of your regen stat, but it doesnt increase it. It adds ontop of the already existing regen.

Also @elijiahrave SP Regen doesnt occur during combat as far as im aware. Because of this, you will often see people sitting down mid-combat to force the regen to occur. You figured it out in your edit but I wanted to explain more.

This happens because sitting down initiates the decreased regen time and according to the coding implemented, brings you directly out of combat, initially forcing the SP that was being held from combat to regen.

Pally’s restoration is bad because Krivis’ Aurukas is underrated. Put the torch run around with aura and you’ll never have to sit for hp/sp regen.

You mean this one-point wonder skill?

oh it wouldn’t be, if it gets reworked to at least include an sp buff (recovery time and boost) with it

I am wondering if I should take Paladin for this skill.
It sounds like this is based on their own SPR, and will not scale with caster SPR for the SP recovery, which seems less impressive. When someone with high SPR, they probably don’t need SP recovery that much.

The SP recovery is a flat +50 with the attribute maxed out. Nothing about it scales with SPR.
