Is it possible to prevent certain players joining your party?

Problem:

like lots of other players, I have stumbled upon several individuals that, due to different reasons, got into my block list. And that is quite OK. What is not OK is that some of such individuals can deliberately ruin my experience by repeatedly joining my party while being expelled.

A brief example:
I experienced a bad attitude from the side of a certain player that resulted in team break and was followed by insults and other stuff in my PM - in the result i just blocked that player. I suppose he (or she - I don’t know) got over offended by this and now when i try to gather a party (and for ET on my server it is a pain since the population has dropped significantly) this player is continuously joining the party. I am in my right to have those players in my party that I know to be good and don’t want that person on, but can do nothing about this situation.

Isn’t it logical that players from your block list can’t join your party (I don’t mean any party you are in but a specific situation where you are the party leader)?

Party links are public… As long as you shout it anyone can still join even when you block them…

And what you want can be a bit tricky for the system as well. 1 blocked person in your list will prevent him joining the party of the other people as well? Hmm

Emm, i believe put it quite simple:

I don’t mean any party you are in but a specific situation where you are the party leader.

Meaning that if I am a party leader, players that are in my block list can’t join this party.
They are free to join any other though so i can’t see anything tricky here.
And i can’t see what can be difficult from the technical point of view - the blocked players’ messages are already blocked so they are already traced.

I understand that party links are public, but just imagine there’s a … not good person that made his mind to spoil just your party so he will join and rejoin until either you or your party members get tired and leave - just out of pure spite…

Yeah I get that part… My point was say out of 4 people, you may be the only one not wanting the 5th to join and wht you are suggesting may not be fair call for the other 3 people

But chill, whtever he did or said dont mind it too much. Make the game entertain you not stress you to make you think that way

And my point is that I don’t enforce myself on other ppl - if they are not happy with my party they can easily leave - on the contrary, when the person, whom no one wishes to have in the party, ruins it - all are suffering.

And as for your 2nd part - i don’t give a rat’s fart about what that person said and even did - that’s entirely not the point. The point is that now i can’t gather a party and fight the game’s content because he ruins it. Can’t - how you put it - let the game entertain me. Of course, i can not do ET, not do something else and… play something else after all.

They should implement a 5 minute restriction to rejoin that way others can join the group in the mean time
I experienced the same problem as well, when doing a CM party and lot of free loaders with their poor 340 undergeared bot-like characters wanted to join desperately, some kept trying intensely for about 5-10 minutes, ended up starting with 4 well geared players, they were nice to accept at least
THis is definetly a problem they need to get their hands soon, community+gameplay problems like this and AFK players at instances (Dungeons / Saalus / etc) with random queues are full of parasites who want to leech all the hard earning work

Thanks for your input, Mathias.

I had some thinking and actually believe I found a kind of work-around for this problem.

Having created a group, instead of giving the party name in the recruiting shout message I’ll ask to join it by PMing me for a party invite.

It’s not ideal of course, but i believe that it may help in especially clinical cases

Maybe, they (game developers) should do a minor rework of the current block system.

Currently, if “Player A” which is a party leader, blocks “Player B”. Then, suddenly “Player A” shouts his/her party link on the public, “Player B” can still view “Player A’s” shout, while “Player A” can’t view any message from “Player B”. This is how the current system works, based on what I know.

So, my suggestion for this minor rework is:
Since “Player A” did block “Player B”, “Player B” should not also view any message/public shout from “Player A”. It somehow, prevents “Player B” from entering “Player A’s” party link since “Player B” can’t view it, no way for him/her to click for the party link.

to complicated, because not only party leader can shout links.
Silently denying joining is much better and more reliable solution.

Make a video recording and send it to the staff in a ticket as harassment

You didn’t have to be rude in tone. If FOUR people are suffering then why just not make your own STATIC party eh? Don’t care about your issue now, goodluck finding a solution bye
