Is it just me or

No, 2 keys between the 5 of us lol.

welp, its just that people who receive the keys dont post, i mean whats the point of posting something like “I GOT A KEY, FEEL HAPPY FOR ME YOUALLS” :grimacing:

It’s just you.

It’s just you. My acct is legit and I got a key.

Just as the two said above me said: “it’s just you”.

There are more lurkers than there are posters on the forums. I’m on here a lot and most of the time I’m just lurking. I only post when I feel like it or the topic piques my interest.

Maybe some just more lucky than others but there are peoples who created multiple accounts just to increase the chance to get the keys.

And those people shouldn’t get anything for attempting to cheat the system.

I actually registered on the website pretty early, when it showed up. I wouldn’t be surprised if I was in the first 100 to 500 people that registered.

I just didn’t want to overhype myself, so I didn’t write on the forums before, and I even refrained from checking the English blog for the same reason. I was hyped about the game from the day one, though, when the first trailer appeared on youtube.

I just wish they had a way to confirm that all 5000 players would look for bugs, instead of just messing around in the game, as if it was released. I mean, i know that’s impossible, but it would be cool.

I know I would do a much better job than majority of the people that got in, and I’m sure that there are more people that would do a better job, as for me, I simply know that I would do good, because I’ve been doing a lot of bug reporting lately for a private WoW server, over 100 legit bug reports within a month, as you can see:

In case you’re wondering why I’m even bothering with a private server, it’s because developers are doing an awesome job with the server, so I wanted to help out.

Because of this (and other games that I’ve tested and reported bugs for in the past), I think I’m just warmed up for this sort of stuff, which is why I wanted to get in closed beta, otherwise, I wouldn’t even bother, I don’t really care about playing the game for 7 days, just for the sake of playing, it would just hype me up, and who knows when the OBT will start.

Anyway, I do hope 2nd CBT will be larger, and that majority of people will get in, so that people who want to just try out the game can do that, and those who actually already know that they will be playing this game for a long time can focus on finding and reporting bugs.

I think there’s quite a few lurkers, me being one… or was one. Been browsing the forums for awhile but never made an account until the CBT announcement (just one of course). Never had a reason to.

Surprisingly I got in lol, but as a lurker I’m not going to announce to the world on the forums that I got a key and rub it in people’s faces. I think the “you are not a beta tester” message is already disheartening enough for people. Gonna try and be a little bit more active now, though I’m hoping there’s in-game bug reporting methods just for convenience.

But you can get into the game, just not this first wave of testing. For all we know, they’re doing a 5 day stress test with this many players to see how things go. Then they’ll slowly let more people trickle in maybe even a week or two after this testing phase.

Better to be optimistic then to look at all the wrong things…the game will come to you. Plus damn, look at Black Desert, it’s been around longer IIRC and we’re already getting our first international CBT…

That’s a possibility and it would be an awesome surprise, but if i can get into 2nd CBT at least, that’s really good enough for me.

That’s what I said when I saw just the character creator for Black Desert.Absolutely stunning graphics.Too bad my computer couldn’t even try to load it without freaking out…

When is the CBT for that anyway? Just curious.

Even though I know this might enflame people, seeing as I did get a key for the CBT:

There is a limit to the amount of people they want active at this time, and many more people who would have dearly loved to get a key.

Obviously many people that heard about the CBT and didn’t get a key posted in hoped of receiving one.

Equally obviously, almost everybody who was active here and interested in the game would like to use the key they received themselves, partly to have a chance to personally improve the game, partly to be able to influence the way it is adjusted, and last but not least, to experience the game before it is truly “out”.

Having too many people online is probably about as bad as having too few, because there is a limited amount of people available to read through feedback emails and sift through reported error codes - you wouldn’t want those people occupied with reading emails regarding the same bug 20.000 times when one email would have sufficed.

This makes balancing the whole thing very hard, in my inexperienced opinion. I don’t know why I got the key in particular, but I do know that I participated in game feature discussions, gave my 2 cents in regards of monetizing the game, talked with people about what I was most looking forward to, and spent time on the translation database looking into helping out in a limited fashion.

I hope this aveliates your concern about keys going to “fake accounts”. While some may have slipped through, I am almost willing to bet that most people here that received a key have been a positive force on the forum.

Regarding black desert: I’ve seen the trailers and some other material and it looks amazing, interested to see how this goes forward!

Also: Is the stress test thing confirmed? If so, are they looking for people all over the world or just a flat out number?

Maybe the reason some of us didn’t get a key was because they fell in a “filled” demographic - I know for a fact that I was not considered for a few beta tests because my system was too mainstream and they wanted people with different hardware to see what kind of problems would turn up.

I absolutely agree with you.
To me, you look like a solid tester.
Enjoy the beta and make sure to supply me with some gameplay videos. :smile_cat:

In your honor I shall become Beth Atesda, destroyer of bugs! Look at my bug reports ye glitches and despair!

It’s respectful if you do not rub things in other peoples faces, I’m sure that the majority of the people that got keys don’t want to rub in the fact that they got keys and others didn’t.
That’s my reason I haven’t made a thread saying “I got one”.

This post was flagged by the community and is temporarily hidden.

You’re seeing more topics about people not getting keys because 1. more people will not get a key than will and 2. because people love to complain and no one is under any obligation to publicly report that they’ve got a key.

The number of users registered in the forums is but a fraction of the registrations on the main page. When the news spread out about an upcoming international beta test it was posted all across different gaming web sites. Gamers rushed to sign up for a chance to get a key the day of the announcement, to the point it crashed the web site various times throughout the day. This alone should tell you the that the number of applicants was indeed very high.

This game already has a strong following for reasons most of us know. It is not surprising to get the impression that a lot of people did not receive a key because that’s exactly the case.

As another poster said, we will never know the real number of eligible accounts for international CBT at the time of key distribution. However, it is evident that the number of potential participants was higher than what people initially thought. I daresay much higher.

Draco is correct,as well as the fact that their topics will be bombarded with how awful these people are that they’re “bragging” or “rubbing it in”.Even though they have every right to tell us what they got.

God forbid we be happy for one another. In the end,we ALL get to play, each and every one of us.Seems like people have to have every single part of something or it’s BS and the system is to blame.
