Is it good to return?

Been playing since launch stopped around feb 2017, still have tons of resource ingame, 22 chars and savings from job so I can whale it.

  • Look away and don’t turn back.
  • Welcome back, game is running great.
  • Wait a few more years.
  • Wait a few decades.
  • Yes, but…[insert cleverly made reason]
  • Hue hue hue

Thanks and have a fantastic valentines.

“Yes, but… [hue hue hue]”

seriously though, you stopped right when it gets interesting, at least for me.

plus, it’s better that you see it for yourself rather than basing your decisions from the opinion of others

word of warning, premonitions of doomsaying

Play for fun, no compromise… don’t worry about game dying or not… It’s a passtime, anyway, don’t take it too seriously… ^.^

And it’s better than it was 1 year ago, when I started playing.

The game is great for returning players, it’s bad for long time players because of the huge downtime between updates.

I quit last Oct’ 16, tried it last January and left after a couple of hours. So yep. Hue hue hue all the way.

I miss the hue knights :disappointed_relieved:

I don’t get this post.
“still have tons of resource ingame, 22 chars and savings from job so I can whale it.” so you want to play in order to get to the top ? You don’t care about if it’s still bugged, if there are still other issues, if it’s fun or anything ?
Then do it and spend your savings.

I have played tos since 2016 and i feel that this game is still good and i can see that ktos is continuosly improving, especially the wiz changes recently hit in korean server. It is just the updates is not so fast come to itos but overall it is still worth to return since they expand max lvl and new classes,cm and raid, so still have quite some things to do.

Yes, but…Don’t read too much on the forum, too much toxic and doom post. Game and service still great, but a bit slow on update and not much to do if you have everything already.

Best you can do are leveling your alts to max, farm primuses in HG 340, go challenge mode for powde…i mean masinios recipe, boss hunting and ET. All PvE content. Not much growth on PvP side IMO

Obviously you’re going to get a biased opinion here.
Most of the people that are not enjoying the game have long since quit, me included, I just check the forums once a day.

If you still find the game fun then fair enough, play away, but seriously, spending money on online games is not a good choice.
There’s a lot of better things you could do with the money than waste it on virtual items, heck there’s whole countries of people that live on $1 a day and people that don’t even know what a PC is.

This so much. Many things happened since Feb '17, so you’ll have a little fun with the new stuff that was added since last year. Don’t forget to participate in the Night Market event to gear up your characters.

Pretty much ^ If anything, I’d recommend coming back like 1-2 days before the maintenance when they announce the next content patch.

But if they’re actually announcing (or you’re waiting) the Wizard rebalance + etc that will give reset events. You should prepare kind of now or 3-5 days before.

If you advanced to Zealot, Shadowmancer, BM or Matador in the last reset event you didn’t actually unlock the class. So you’d need to do the Shadowmancer unlock quest for SM you’d plan to reset and pick SM again.

Rune Caster is also a better class after Wizard rework, you’d take around 1-2 days max per char but can do multiple characters at once.

I’d recommend doing these unlock quests, including new Shinobis with swordsman changes, in advance, before the reset event starts so you don’t have regrets later nor lose actual test/play time with unlock quests.

So again, 1-2 days before if content patch to prepare yourself and get used to the game again or 3-5 days before balance patch if you plan to reset multiple characters into new “R9” (I know, R8) classes and/or Shinobi/Runecaster.

The game is definitely worth coming back to. A lot has been revamped, especially if you’re a returning player. It may not seem like it’s as much to a continuous player as someone else said, but you should notice a lot of improvement on your end. If you’re well resourced, then you can put that to good use getting through the new content and getting current gear.

I’m not sure why people continuously come back to the forum to ask about coming back to ToS, though. Although it’s less trollish, it’s still got it’s fair share of doomsayers lurking around for some reason. So just as I’d tell anyone, no matter when they’ve posted about coming back: Don’t just go off the opinions here, on Steam, or on the subreddit. Jump back into the game and see for yourself.
