Is IMC trying to kill this game?

It isn’t dead, it’s just dying. Unless IMC scrap this game to work on another project.

Right now they have to block new players to fix all these issues before giving IToS new contents, nobody wanna do GvG with 2-5 FPS, IMC know that and they don’t want to make more players disappoint.

@STAFF_Max plz make this come true

Just checked. We have 15k.

Actually your argument means nothing for one you lied on how many players we have left to try and make a point, second most f2p mmos lose a ton of players first month. read this https://mmos.com/editorials/mmo-hopping

Also you dont even mention the real issues in this post like bots, optimization and such. Those are what would help retain players. You must be retarded to think we wont get the ktos changes. 2 months of cash shop updates? we couldnt even buy tp til recently. i will write you off as a troll now.

Not saying the game is perfect, but your focusing on the wrong things to complain about when the game doesnt run properly and there are bots ruining the game.

This again? Listen.

There are over 14k players online now as of 11::46AM EST 6/16/16. I get the concern and criticisms about IMC’s handling right now, but please do not spread misinformation.

It’s this chicken little attitude that damages the game. I get being concerned, that’s fine. There’s reason. I get being upset about the lack of updates, even if I look at it differently–I’m not going to go on a rant.

But seriously. The servers are NOT dying. There’s a cycle to the player population of any game, we’re just seeing the effects of:

  1. Players who were just hyped and then disappointed (understandable as this happens with every MMO).

  2. People who capped early and are waiting for an update.

  3. Players quitting because of xyz changes/not being changed.

  4. Over 5k bots/abusers being banned a few days ago.

  5. No fresh meat. Which will eventually be remedied when the servers are open to new accounts again.

And oh yes, IMC is trying to kill their own game because money is like TP and it should just be flushed without a care because they ball’n. The tears of the players keep them from going thirsty.

so OP what would you do to save the game?

  • Company Layoffs
  • Loss of players
  • Too much in game restrictions and no anticheat technology (such as GAMEGUARD, NPROTECT, XTRAP)
  • Lack of content (this only applies to the ones that play the game alot)
  • Underpopulated servers (even after splitting the servers up due to Overpopulation TWO MONTHS AGO)
  • Players are more than willing/wanting to buy stuff from the TP shop, but it lacks the stuff they actually want to buy (example: Stat reset potion, costumes, etc)
  • Server files are under development by random people
  • Class balancing is already an issue and its impacting on many of the job classes end game
  • Serverside Lag and Clientside Lag (Bad FPS)
  • Low metacrtic rating/score

Seems like this game is heading in the same direction as: The Secret World & X Rebirth

9k players? where did you see so many? I see bots only and offline moneymakers.

With the servers being closed to the new players it feels like an extended beta test. I wonder if a lot of things are being prepared for when they eventually reopen the floodgates.

I think that’s a fair assumption. They’ve stated previously that the korean version is where they are doing tests on balance patches first and then giving us final or even different versions. I figure we’ll get a comprehensive patch after things are more stable.

@Endurance Like I said, I understand where and why people are concerned about the way IMC is handling things or choices that they have made. However these threads of the game dying, that IMC doesn’t care, ect are just fanning the flames and while sometimes do have good discussion in them because other players with more level heads come in, do not do much other than scare off potential players and increase the general frustration.

I don’t know, but I make the assumption that this game was never meant to be the next #1 MMORPG or at least not expected to be, ToS is a game that shows it’s been a labor of love. It’s also catering to a very niche audience. It has a lot of major in game issues right now that need fixed.

The players were the ones who hyped it up as the next big thing and then pushed for early access, early release–every single thing IMC stated they were worried about happening and why they had wanted to do a 3 month early access instead of one month to prepare for release, it’s almost all happened and then some. If players hadn’t been rioting in the forums we might have seen a proper launch of the game in a far more stable state.

But who knows? We didn’t get it. We have what we have now.

As far as lack of content? It’s because they’re fixing stuff. kToS has been getting new updates for quests and content, as well as filler quests for older maps that had none in like the 250 range.

Unbalanced swordie class in general will kill this game. Especially non-cata swordie classes.

I really hope that swordsman gets improved. It’s a pretty fun class, but even early on I noticed my damage falling off. I’m goin back and trying a different build after I get my archer up a bit more.I was a non pelta build, but I didn’t mind at all as far as aggro–it was just some bad choices with skills and I’m too lazy/cheap to waste TP on a skill reset below 150.

That’s one of the biggest fail ever.
You don’t take out game content to “balance” it on a completely diferent server while letting other play a crippled version of the said game.

If they need to balance it on ktos and keep it there, they shouldnt have opened itos in the first place.

New bug usually appear everytime they update (can’t enter dungeon, queue bug, etc…), so they have to test them on Kr first, before set them all into a big update for IToS. If they keep pushing balance patches to IToS, ppls will cry and keep asking for free reset potions every update.

Not mention they want to fix all critical issues to reopen server as soon as possible. This is their priority.

They give us a lot of untradeable recipes at high-end lvl and restricted contents mainly to slow us down.

clearly, none other than posting ■■■■ xd

again, getting weekly balance patch its a thing, testing a game mode (not rly, since they are not testing it) while letting other server play a crippled version its a completely different matter ffs.

also, every time they have a maintenance something get screwd up, even if they just put some new loading screen they broke something like dg or queue, those bug are a weekly thing here too.

smart thing to do? give us everything they have, give us a MONTHLY (bi monthly if they suck so much at updating w/o fucking everything)balance patch.

kind agree with a lot of OP.
I especially find closing off servers to new players one of the most nonsensical move from business side. Haven’t come across any MMO before that’d deliberately shut down servers access to new players for such an extended period. I seems like a lot of people speak on IMC’s behalf saying that this move is good for fixing up/optimizing the game, it’s their move to answer to veteran/currently playing players to make their play experience better, but I can’t see that as anything but excuses trying to mask yet another one of their shortcomings, maybe incompetence, or at the very least a very questionable decision.

and lets face it, this game, at the moment, won’t even get THAT much more player.
so keeping it down it’s beyond retarded.
