Is Frenzy really worth it?

I’ve heard all this hype but it’s never lived up to it IMO. In the end I just dropped it for the skill points, because auto-attacking to slowly raise damage is just hassle. I never felt the time it takes was worth it. I know it got nerfed before early access, but since people are still taking it it’s making me wonder… is there something I’m missing?

The only reason I’d take Frenzy atm is if I got one or Sissel bracelets (fat chance :smile:), because of the 8 stacks damage bonus.

Atm I’ve got War Cry and its attributes maxed (40 second duration, 10 mobs, -60 def from each mob… meaning I get 600 atk under optimal conditions). I usually pull at least 4 or 5 mobs at a time* to make good use of my AoE attacks like Earthquake and Cyclone so that’s consistently 240~300 atk and the full 600 in crowded maps, almost instantly compared to having to spam auto-attack for 15-20 seconds.

It takes 20 auto-attacks to get the full 400 atk Frenzy buff, which gets halved to 200 if you’re using the Maintain Stacks attribute. I’m just not sure why some people like Frenzy so much. I know you can get both but points are scarce, so again, I’m just wondering if there’s anything that makes Frenzy a must-have.

What do you guys think? Am I missing something?

*Sometimes more, and outside of dungeons I don’t actually need buffs like Frenzy or Warcry to deal with enemies.

It’s all a matter of personal preference. If you don’t like frenzy then don’t take it.

As for myself, I prefer having both since doppel’s deeds of valor increases both frenzy and warcry atk. At lvl 10 DoV you’d be getting twice as much their benefits. Warcry indeed boosts more atk and you don’t have to increase stacks but it’s also got more cooldown and less duration.

Also I’ve always thought warcry’s attribute increased +30 fix atk and not +30 additional atk per monster. So a lvl 10 warcry with max attributes would give at most +330 atk and not +600. But I can be wrong.

firstly i think max damage thats warcry can provide is 330
(300 from -30df each and +30 from attribute)
I gotta say thats currently warcry is alot easier to use than frenzy

but warcry have cast time thats can fck u up,knock down while casting
will make skill completely useless ( happen a lot when pulling with archer/magic mob :sob:)

also Frenzy can be stack easily when u got access to doppel, DOV is boost your atk speed by alot (assume thats u got high ping its still buff your aspd atleast 1.3-1.5 time at lv 8)

and lets assume thats KTOS balance patch is comming soon which its buff both skill

kTOS Barbarian Changes

•War Cry◦Cooldown decreased to 50 seconds (down from 82 seconds).

•Frenzy◦Cooldown decreased to 70 seconds (down from 90 seconds).

so Frenzy gonna have 20 sec downtime same as War Cry but if you use attribute its 30 sec downtime (add target attribute cd+10 sec)

I recommend you to get both and reduce some skill from helm chopper since new patch buff seism stun chance and lower cd so helm chopper will gonna be just filler skill

Yeah, I’m pretty sure it’s only a flat +30 from the attribute as well. Last time I checked anyway.

20 auto attacks = 10 seconds total. This time is shortened with Deeds of Valor. Frenzy lasts for 50 seconds. Warcry lasts for 30 seconds.

Warcry works better in groups of mobs. Frenzy is good if you’re fighting 1 boss. There’s really no reason not to take both skills to increase your P.ATK even higher.

You can jump right after casting warcry. It cancels out the annoying ~2 sec warcry animation of your character shouting.

Helm Chopper is the second highest damage skill of barbarian (200% atk + 3000 base atk per cast at lv15) and it also have been buffed ( 21cd -> 16cd).

I think you should pick both frenzy and warcry. Use one of them, and when it ends, use the another. You will have a permanent atk buff by doing this.

yeah this is indeed true
but with new cleave ( 3 overheat ) i prefer cleave than helm chopper
so better use skill point carefully :smiley:

As a starter remember sissel is awfull, you`ll never miss 8 attacks in a row

And if you do , when the buff stacks you`ll keep missing them, so don’t even bother with this trash.

Im a dopple 2 myself and never used frenzy, if someone could comment on this i would appreciate.
Does the stack damage from frenzy, after fully stacked transfers for others skill?
What i mean is, after you get the 20 stacks and use ciclone, will the stack damage works in the skill?
If yes them it’s an ok skill, if it doesn’t them just forget about this, because the damage from warcry works, and most of your damage come from cleave+helm chopper+seism+ciclone + every other skill in your rotation.
you’ll only be auto attacking when everything is on cd, and that’s 15 seconds max in any fight.

From my experience frenzy (and warcry) works per hit of cyclone and pouncing [tested].

However it seems to divide the damage between the hits of some other skills like seism [not completely sure, untested].

eh how does sissel work with our frenzy? is it like an addon toto our frenzy or are they 2 seperate buffs?

The bracelet looks a bit rubbish though. you rarley miss with dex anyways and then you gotta miss like 8x in a row for the buff to trigger? or are they refering to our frenzy?

Unfortunately with a major glitch, if your screen freezes or lags during frenzy, you will lose all stacks even if you have the maintain stacks attribute.

Highly annoying.

Damage from frenzy add to your base damage same as the warcry and dov

So its boost all skill damage thats have p.atk to calaculate

Also if i not wrong the boost atk from frenzy and warcry can increase even more with DOV

So with 3 skill you get so much dmg
200(frenzy)+330(warcry max)*1.5
Thats 795 without base damage and weapon (in paper thoug its not easy to get 10 warcry and max frenzy)

So my point is both skill is good but how you manage your skill point is depend on your preferance.(for me i leave warcry lv 5 since i alway forget to use its XD)

Frenzy is useful with Deed of Valor, very easy to stack up to 10 times. Most of the time I just use the attribute Maintain stack cause it’s irritating to see it loses stack whenever you hit the wrong target. However I feel like Helm Chopper not much useful…I regret leveling it up to 5. Should have put it to Pouncing instead. Cleave also don’t do much damage to boss since you can’t stun boss so you can do the extra damage from cleave.
