After looking at the costs of the yellow papers, I’m starting to reconsider. What do you guys think?
My sister has both, a C2-Diev3-Druid and a C2-Krivis3-Pard-Oracle-Taoist.
She uses an untranscended Vienarazis Mace and her whole equip gets traded between those 2 characters. (Taoist has about 5 Tomb Lord Cards)
Her enhance attributes on Carnivore (Druid3) and on Zaibas (Krivis 3) are at 70%. Both characters got equal statted (like 100 into Con, then Full Int).
Carnivore hits go for about 18-20k (while under effect of Hengestone) and Zaibas with Stormcalling for 40k
I took the lvl 290 Lavenzard as example (Its Ghost Type, both is magic so +50% Dmg)
Take into account that Zaibas has 30s CD with an 2 times overheat u deal a lot of more burst dmg with that combo. If the enemy resists Lightning the dmg will be a lot lower, while Carnivore is neutral element and will hit always with the same dmg.
U also shouldnt forget, that Druid C3 gots the Werwolf, and this one hits quite a punch, almost every skill has a huge AoE and hits everything.
Both classes fulfill different roles and deal dmg on another way.
Taoist main feature is Stormcalling + Zaibas
Druid main feature is Hengestone (doubles ur MAtk - this will help a lot if u arent well geared to pierce through R8 mobs MDef)
Hope that helped a bit.
As someone leveling a Krivis3>Druid2>Taoist, I really appreciate this detailed answer. Is the yellow paper usage/cost that bad?
Is Krivis3Druid3 even good? That sp drain though…
Taoist is superior because we’re comparing C3 Druid with C1 Taoist, though…
Creeping Death Charm e.g. has the same CD time as Carnivory but offers 3 overcharges and ± the same base damage [~2200 lvl 5 vs 2500 Carnivory lvl 15]. It can also be exploded when it’s nearly out of hits for extra damage via “Begone Demon” [which can be attributed for additional explosion damage].
So this one alone already outdamages Carnivory. All other charms also can be nuked for additional damage.
The main question is: can we expect some magic like the additional damage from Stormcalling for Zaibas for other skills/attributes,too? Maybe the next Circle of Taoist will introduce sth for Dark property e.g. which would complement Bokor or sth with Soul property to enhance Sadhu.
Btw, A druid 3>Taoist at Rank 9 seems legit enough I believe, imagine the invisible werewolf * - *
Socket unroasted blue gems into ur weapons. U´ll loose quite a bit of ur max SP which makes it easier to pot ur way up to Full SP again.
A normal case in Uphill Defense is, that the werwolf runs out after the 5 minutes not because of the SP loss but because the skill got canceled.
I dont think the paper cost at Taoist is that bad. U normaly use the Combo for Boss fights.
There´s also one thing to take into account, that we never play alone - almost every time we have 2 or 3 players at least. So the Taoist is not the main DPS, while the Diev Druid ranks pretty high in our DPS (given the fact the boss has a lot more HP then 2mio, cuz that would be one Stormcalling combo
) .
IMO u cant realy compare both classes to each other.
Different ranks, different roles.
Taoist may become better with new ranks, or may not, while druid is free to pick a new class (and still has the 100% MAatk fom Transformation + Hengestone)
Btw. a funny little thing. A Krivis3-Druid2-Taoist and a Druid 3 make a great Boss Duo. If the Druid3 uses Hengestone and the Druid2 Taoist uses transform under it the Taoist MATK gets also doubled…imagine the numbers
i looked up builds a lot, studied hard, deleted character after character. new plan is to just build whatever i fancy at the time and to hell with the consequences…
to answer the actual question, i think anywhere you need to do 30 hits at 40k damage to kill stuff you’ll probably be making lot more than 60k per hour. comes down to whether you want to spam zaibas for the rest of your character’s life or spend it re-turning into a frog every 2 minutes.
Well, there’s another way to look at it though: druid 3 doubles your magic attack, physical attack and HP. So if we get a single damage class next rank (when taoist 2 would be out) and given weapons keep getting much much stronger due to transcendence, druid 3 might be a safer bet.
Hell, even if nothing damage-based comes along, just taking taoist for a krivis 3- druid 3 build should make that zaibas hit a hell lot and potentially more than what taoist 2 could offer. It’s always a bet, but druid 3 double stats can be somehow considered future-safe.
I often find I out damage Taoists because they’re setup takes too long or the boss moves out of their Storm Calling. I still like Taoists though and plan on making one.
Does the lycanthropy skill have that weird glitch like transform where you freeze for a split second after getting hit?
Lycan no, but hedgestone crash yes
Hmm, if I have to trust IMC game files, tao 2 will be more CC/support.
R9 skills are already in the game files?
There are lots of skills/attributes which are curently not in use in the client files. However, they aren’t guaranteed to ever see the sun, either (looking at Oracles Call of Deities e.g.).
Some look very decent, though (e.g. Enchanters Magic Powder or Kabbalists “Nachash” skill), so it would be good to see them ingame actually.
The skills for Taoist seem to be pretty badass if they come in as they are mined, an increase of several 100s of patk and matk for a certain duration is very op considering that there will be several classes with such strong boost skills [Blessing,Swell Arms,Enchant Lightning e.g.]…
