Is Cleric C2 really needed?

No one is calling you small minded, just close minded a bit. A lot of damage in this game is avoidable. Taking c2 cleric will help initially for groups that don’t get how to play the game, but as the game develops and players get better, c2 cleric will become the crutch that it is.

Groups will realize that they want more damage or better support skills from their cleric other than more heal tiles and a better safety wall.

Party-based MMOs have a place for buff-centric healers. Remember Chanter from AION? I could go into others but I don’t want to drag this post out.

Anyone who is close or narrow minded is by definition also small minded, so actually yes you did.

I don’t disagree with your opinion because it’s other then mine.
I disagree with it because of the sheer damage enemies already deal. Because i’ve seen how cleric2s already struggle in earth tower.

And whether such a build works in a different game is irrelevant. Especially consider the difficultly for later levels is a unknown variable.

Depends on your build. If you’re going priest2+, you already have mass heal, so you have less incentive to need heal10.

It is early-game meta, people will always take too much damage early on and then either get better or not be put into parties.

The C2 clerics you saw struggling, what was the rest of their build? It is a poor example unless you know what else they are offering to the party.

Did you see it in a video? I’d like to see their game-play.

Asking someone to keep an open mind is akin to asking them to be more considerate of dissenting opinions. Taking offense to this, is indeed small minded.

It’s just one dungeon you’re so concerned about. Then should everyone who plays cleric be Paladin c3 for barrier or Dievdirby? If you’re really struggling that hard you can always just party with another cleric. And if everyone is struggling to heal since you say even c2 is having problems, why wouldn’t IMC create a higher rank class that is designed to heal the whole party again?

But you did state i had to keep a open mind, and directly implied i wasn’t agreeing with your opinion because it wasn’t in line with my own.

I explained why i disagreed. Yet, you keep insisting it is because i cannot tolerate other opinions and that i need to be more lax.

For cleric2? nope.
Earth tower does seem to the current pve end game though, so yes i would prepare for it if possible.

ps, it has some pretty good equips.

Not quite.
Floor 1-5 seem manageable with kiting, damage is still quite high though.
Floor 6 seems like a massive increase in difficulty since you fight ranged mobs, some of which deal magic dmg.

Why would you if one cleric could be enough?
They’re still tied to a time limit, gotta defend x in x time. kill x enemies in x time.

And what if they don’t?
Maybe’s and what ifs are interested, but not of to much value right now.

Have either of you played cleric actually? in tos ofc.

Yeah I tested out two different cleric builds in icbt2 but what does that have to do with anything? A couple of my buddies in my guild played other types of clerics as well so I’ve heard their feedback (our guild always ends up healer/tank heavy). But I’m not going to pretend I’m some expert at it when I haven’t played the new version of the game at all. :slight_smile:

No, i’m saying you ought to read up definitions of words you do not understand prior to using them. Dictionaries are quite helpful at improving your odds of getting your point across.

Was merely curious if it was based on pure conjecture or partly based on personal feedback.
And fair enough. That’s your call in terms of advice.

tl/dr:
You’re a hypocrite who somehow only complains at my advice, regardless of whether or not i can back it up with videos. Likely took offense at my rudeness or that i didn’t recommend a build you liked.

Your underlying basis for the claim is:

  • Difficulty won’t increase, we will get accustomed to the defensive routines and avoid more damage, thus cleric2 is overkill.

But no, you’d rather state i was a elitist and small minded to avoid the conversation entirely.

As such i don’t see a need to debate with either of you two. You won’t listen anyway.
