"Invite a Friend" Event Bugged

Still not fixed ²:
Active Player: Drowa
New Player: nomeai
Server: Silute
Did all that has been stated on the announcement of the event, my friend got the “Success” message and we didn’t get the buffs, neither been able to interact with the event npc.

My friend forgot to click on the button “USE CODE” , sorry for the mistake.

I would like to know from IMC if the extra items were removed from the abusers, I would think it would be only fair to do that even at the cost of a rollback, because 160m in attributes, 4 months of tokens and tons of golden anvils can be quite gamebreaking. I don’t like the fact that the lack of communication make people think that exploiters can have their way, like when people said about goldselling “Oh they are going to warn them for their first offence” without even thinking that they would have their silver removed in the process of course. I don’t want to feel like “I would’ve liked to exploit that event to get the tons of rewards, now I feel regret for not having been fast enough”.

Also I don’t like the posters here that complain about the lack of a fast response, I guess that 90% of the playerbase used the event and most of them encountered bugs, so they had to make a ticket, just imagine all those people trying to get a response at the same time. (We are not only 1600 players, that’s the concurrent players amount, stop being retarded and follow steamcharts) But I do agree that some testing would’ve avoid this situation completely.

The people complaining are angry about the fact there has been NO WORD on the problems that people are still having.

They were very quick to remove rewards from people who got too much, but don’t seem to be saying anything at all about the people who are getting NOTHING.

Also - the fact that half of these problems came up at all, points to really bad methods of implementing events - which is so amazingly counterproductive when trying to impress new players into their game.

Am sure people who has nothing will be compensated…

as for the silence they are prob over flown with complains on all sides and trying to get things fixed…

Well, it is truth, like a bank work quickly if they have given you more money but it takes a long long time to get you money back if they have given you less.

It is also a truth that they need to fix it first. Otherwise, we all have extra rewards XD.

At the moment - it really looks like anyone who had their friend use the code before they created a team-name is just being left without even addressing that there is an issue.

My last ticket, which basically said “The fix yesterday didn’t work”, was replied to with a link to the maintenance notice saying “We fixed this yesterday”

IMC at denial phase. I also got “have you tried turn on and off your PC” kind of reply from the support. It’s like they don’t even acknowledge our existence. I refused to play the game unless this is resolved fairly.

Just keep making a ticket. If they close your ticket without resolving, just copy your previous ticket again. Get your friend account to make a ticket and keep doing the same thing as well. It takes less than 3 mins to do so, just keep doing it.

Okay, IMC fixed mine, now I got the buff.

But no compensation was made.

My other active friends lucked out and got to keep all of the rewards. And I am lost here with no new player since the new player doesn’t want to play the game anymore.

GG IMC. Code can be only used once and now I am locked with this new account. Ah well, time to play another game. Good luck guys.

Just in case I share this here as well.

  1. The rewards incorrectly issued to all new players have been retrieved. The new players will be able to obtain the rewards again correctly by interacting with the Event NPC.

  2. The following measures have been taken to retrieve the reward items already consumed by the new players:

  • Token effects have been removed for any Tokens that have been used already.
  • Attribute Points that have been spent have been completely reset and all available points have been retrieved.
  • All Titles, Companions and Classes that have been unlocked by the new users have been reset.
  1. The reward items were not retrieved for active players who have received their rewards earlier than their respective partners’ levels.
  • Please take note that the active players who have already received their rewards will not be able to re-obtain the same rewards again.

[Update] Code usage count has been reset for players whose codes have lost their validity because it was used before new players created a Team in-game. For all players affected by this issue, try to use your invitation codes again and make sure that the new player has created their Teams before entering the code on our invitation page. And for all future participants, the issues related to the Invite a Friend event have been resolved and all event-related content should now function correctly as intended.

So, since the active players already received all rewards (some with extras) they can just leave the new players playing, but us who was locked on this problem due to following the instruction on your website before the “update” need to convince our new player to play again and help them to level to 350?

Let’s just be clear.

  1. You let the players who got the rewards early to keep their rewards.

  2. We who “trapped” by the guide were waiting for almost 3 days without the buffs and now apparently need to convince the new player (I don’t know if you can move the code to another new player) since the code is 1 only time and you can’t generate more.
    2a. If the new player quit the game completely then we are out of luck.
    2b. If the new player agreed to continue, we are lagging behind almost 3 days to those who already got the rewards.

So in your reply, I assume there is no compensation at all for these troubles that we had. I would recommend if you don’t want to compensate us, then please retrieve the rewards from the players who already got all because of your bug. This situation is a disadvantage to us who beta tested your event.

I was very excited during your maintenance when I read the news. I searched for a friend and asked him to play with me. I already planned my weekends to level him to 350 with some other active friends. Now, my other active friends have the rewards and they bailed from the leveling plan, my new player doesn’t want to play anymore.

I am sorry to say this, all of my high hopes have been let down by this decision. Maybe it was better if you never announced the event. I felt bad for having high hopes. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. I am going to stop playing this game. I already got burned before because the game system update last year which renders most of my characters unplayable. I returned just to be disappointed. Additionally, my homecoming is also bugged.

This event is insane. This has backfired to IMC big time mainly due lack of testing on their part before implementation.

I do not understand the part why each event happens like this one where people cam exploit the rewards like you guys at IMC never learn from your mistakes?

The purpose of the event is to attract new players but you chose to punish the new players while rewarding the old ones by choosing not to retrieve what the other veterans have exploited…? Someone posted that people have redeemed all rewards every category. How much is that in attribute points? And seriously, you guys chose to let them keep it? Wow.

You guys do understand majority of people playing your game are probably mid 20’s - 30’s and are sick and tired of this crap?

People who have benefitted from this exploit will be silent and will defenitely hope nothing happens. People who felt they were treated unfairly want justice.

What’s your move, IMC games?

Veterans are exploiting it ? are you crazy all we did was followed the event instruction and ended up with all the rewards when talking to the npc this is clearly the fault of IMC poor planning and coding.

What more there are many reason they choose not to remove veteran item here’s one: awakening stone if used they have to go through thousands of player item affected by this good luck coding that.

Why are you getting offended? Did you exploit the obvious coding error?

I will surely get roasted for saying it loud but come on, we all know this event is a joke. Probably 90% of “new” players are veterans themselves who want the rewards. this is not wrong.

What’s wrong is when someone posted that you can claim all the rewards on level 50, 120, 170 etc and when people read and saw the screenshot, undeniably people rushed it to get instant attribute points worth…how much? Isn’t this exactly what exploiting a game means?

It was a general statement, I didn’t particularly named anyone but why are you offended? I’m sorry.

He just doesn’t want his rewards to be reverted. This, I understand very well, why would you want to lose free items? The fault is at IMC, they are so slow at handling this and their decision is only heavy on one side. I mean, they dared to retrieve the items from new players (including those unrelated event items, GG IMC) but they are afraid of upsetting those active players who already got the rewards.

Meanwhile those who beta tested their code got lost in all of this situation and felt upset. But I bet the number who beta tested is low enough to ignore. As a result, we who beta tested only got “sorry for the inconvenience, we have ‘fixed’ the problem”. At this rate, I now understand that IMC does not want to deal with the side effect of their problem and just call it a day. Its hard to make everyone happy right? Better make one side happy than hurt both.

And now I gave up on the game (I won’t even go back for rank 10 etc.) because I am one of those who beta tested and got burned by their decision. Albeit all of that, now I somehow got 4 hours free (and more for weekends) from not playing ToS and can play other games that I want to play. I think all is good now. Those who got the rewards without any effort probably paid it with their game time or real money investment in the game. FYI, I am a F2P player, probably IMC won’t get any impact from losing F2P players.

To those who got all of the rewards effortlessly, go enjoy your rewards to the fullest. I hope you guys won’t get IMC’d like us who beta tested the event.
