"Invite a Friend" Event Bugged

Nvm I did something wrong

got it back thanks dudes

This event is insane. This has backfired to IMC big time mainly due lack of testing on their part before implementation.

I do not understand the part why each event happens like this one where people cam exploit the rewards like you guys at IMC never learn from your mistakes?

The purpose of the event is to attract new players but you chose to punish the new players while rewarding the old ones by choosing not to retrieve what the other veterans have exploited…? Someone posted that people have redeemed all rewards every category. How much is that in attribute points? And seriously, you guys chose to let them keep it? Wow.

You guys do understand majority of people playing your game are probably mid 20’s - 30’s and are sick and tired of this crap?

People who have benefitted from this exploit will be silent and will defenitely hope nothing happens. People who felt they were treated unfairly want justice.

What’s your move, IMC games?

I think the share must be a common thing, instead of just in case

Having a problem and feeling like no one is there to help you is an awful feeling and not everyone is as persistent and stalky as me  most people only visit one thing…

So, if the words from the @Staff can reach all, it would make most of us feel better

THANKS YOU

Veterans are exploiting it ? are you crazy all we did was followed the event instruction and ended up with all the rewards when talking to the npc this is clearly the fault of IMC poor planning and coding.

What more there are many reason they choose not to remove veteran item here’s one: awakening stone if used they have to go through thousands of player item affected by this good luck coding that.

Why are you getting offended? Did you exploit the obvious coding error?

I will surely get roasted for saying it loud but come on, we all know this event is a joke. Probably 90% of “new” players are veterans themselves who want the rewards. this is not wrong.

What’s wrong is when someone posted that you can claim all the rewards on level 50, 120, 170 etc and when people read and saw the screenshot, undeniably people rushed it to get instant attribute points worth…how much? Isn’t this exactly what exploiting a game means?

It was a general statement, I didn’t particularly named anyone but why are you offended? I’m sorry.

He just doesn’t want his rewards to be reverted. This, I understand very well, why would you want to lose free items? The fault is at IMC, they are so slow at handling this and their decision is only heavy on one side. I mean, they dared to retrieve the items from new players (including those unrelated event items, GG IMC) but they are afraid of upsetting those active players who already got the rewards.

Meanwhile those who beta tested their code got lost in all of this situation and felt upset. But I bet the number who beta tested is low enough to ignore. As a result, we who beta tested only got “sorry for the inconvenience, we have ‘fixed’ the problem”. At this rate, I now understand that IMC does not want to deal with the side effect of their problem and just call it a day. Its hard to make everyone happy right? Better make one side happy than hurt both.

And now I gave up on the game (I won’t even go back for rank 10 etc.) because I am one of those who beta tested and got burned by their decision. Albeit all of that, now I somehow got 4 hours free (and more for weekends) from not playing ToS and can play other games that I want to play. I think all is good now. Those who got the rewards without any effort probably paid it with their game time or real money investment in the game. FYI, I am a F2P player, probably IMC won’t get any impact from losing F2P players.

To those who got all of the rewards effortlessly, go enjoy your rewards to the fullest. I hope you guys won’t get IMC’d like us who beta tested the event.

What part of my sentence says i do not want my reward reverted ?! You seem to have a very special power to read minds of other people too bad it’s not working. i am giving a very logical answer based on my own working experiences as a coder.

Sorry for the wrong assumption. And no, I cannot read your mind and just made an assumption. Even if I can read your mind you can deny it since it is the internet and there is no proof. Since you are a coder, you probably know how to query a database and depending on how the database is set up this can be reverted.

Back to the topic, they can simply solve that by giving the same amount of awakening stone to others as well. They also did remove attributes and token from the new players. I dare them to do that to the active players.

I saw your edit regarding exploits. Based on the definition of exploiting (yeah just googled that):

  1. Make full use of and derive benefit from (a resource).
  2. Make use of (a situation) in a way considered unfair or underhand.

Some of the active players realized that they can get the rewards multiple times to take benefits even knowing there is something wrong. Perhaps the best course of action is to report to support. Maybe that’s why he said exploiting (I am assuming again here). Again the term of exploiting in the second term may vary depending on your moral value. You can call taking rewards multiple times even knowing its a system error as a bad thing or a good thing. Assuming again, his moral values this action as a bad thing.

But yeah some people did get burned because of his comment lmao (maybe too spot on?). People need to chill out.

Yes your right but did you think ahead what and how would IMC know who expoited this bug apart from those who did not know ?

It is impossible so the only choice is to wipe the veterans too and when that happen items from the vets will be affected ect. trans wep since awakening stone has been used. The removed of extra attribute point tickets (i saw some bug report that the newbie wipe removed the 2nd annver. stuff too).

Ok, so…the players of which whom I’d optimistically say 50% created an alt account to get free stuff to boost their main account are basicly done with no effort whatsoever and others who did’nt have time to be that fast have to work for their rewards now and let’s not forget the people who still have issues when they tried to do the event very early on…I mean, why just why?

Indeed, they cannot simply say one is an exploiter an another is not. But they can know who already got the rewards (the kupole can know what rewards you already got right?). As for the awakening stones, enchant scrolls, etc, why should the player suffer from IMC’s fault? In that case IMC did that right. There is another solution tho, which is server roll back to before maintenance (assuming they did a backup before maintenance).

The point that is Adrian focusing on is why do you punish the new players? They took the new players’ stuff and let the active players keep it. Not to say others who haven’t entered or beta tested the event need to work hard helping the new players. In this case Their decision makes disparity to their players.

I already retired from the game because I don’t want to be burned by IMC again.

@Cless_Alvein, yeah I would question that too, but it seems the case is already swept under the rug. So to those who already got the rewards, enjoy. And to those who need to level the new player, good luck. My new player rage-quitted and IMC does not factor this into their decision.

Server roll back is the worst option right now they are trying to minimize their fault by only adding newbie to the wipe. If a server roll back happened you can see this page having hundreds more complaints and wanting compensation to the time they lost.
This game has lots of RNG so a player get a rare loot once it may not get it again after the roll back.

Agreed, server rollback now is too late. Should have rolled 1 hour after the maintenance as people are already reporting this 1 hour after the maintenance If I recall correctly. If they did roll back 1 hour after the maintenance and add some dungeon resets and tokens as compensation, the damage would not be as big as right now. And for loots I don’t know about that, but quick roll back (1hour after the maintenance) should not be bad, I assume. Rolling back now is too late. The damage has been done now and they don’t even care making a fix for the side effect. Rendering this conversation useless. We can only dream. Lol.

IMC: we did a mistake, but the show must go on.

Yep it is too late for a server rollback. I am sure that players are smart enough to mix in the exploited awakenings, enchants and such with the legit ones so IMC won’t even dare a rollback.

My point still remains, this was supposed to be an event to hopefully create a bigger playerbase for the game. But it ended up being a disaster, where if you are a veteran you know imc will surely screw something up, and many players waiting for that opportunity to exploit it.

All this event has done is make few players happy by keeping millions and millions of attribute points, disappoint many old players, and shy away new potential players.

All very counter productive to what their intention was. Yes it was IMC’s fault due to their lack of competence, but if you exploited this opportunity you know you’re part of the game’s problem too.

Dunno what you know about coding, but Awakening doesn’t make the stuff magically unfindable.

If you are speaking about the event weapons, then lel, they are a very specific item category and therefore really easy to identify no matter what you do

Attributes got reverted.
Tokens got reverted.
Anvils too. (even if golden anvils are not big of a problem in my opinion)

If you are complaining about the Awakening stones having a big impact on the game economy, you have a problem. They are like niche of a niche. The only nice thing you can get from an Awakening is HP basically.

We are actually flooded by enchant scrolls right now, so having slightly more or less, let’s be honest, doesn’t make that much of a difference.

I’m not saying that IMC did everything properly, as I said before, with a little bit ot testing all of this could’ve been avoided, but we are attacking the silliest of things right now.

I am no programmer, I assumed it is the same as other mmorpgs where if you change something on an item, that item’s “ID” gets changed thus making it untrackable server side. I stand corrected if I’m wrong.

I believe the things that were reverted were only for the new players. Old players got to keep what they have redemeed already.

I did not mention awake stones in this thread and even if I did, even if they give small bonuses the rewards have still been exploited. Big or small, it has been abused by others redeeming all rewards multiple times. Even if it’s small for you, doesn’t mean it is for everyone doesn’t it?

If you are not bothered by enchant scrolls and good head costumes, then dont use them. But we still got BiS gears for every slot and there’s a reason for them.

Anyhow, I care less. I did not exploit this event nor I need gear myself. Goodluck

Your speaking like a hypocrite btw you forgot the part where you can obtain awakening stone from the log calendar which pretty much get mixed into the invite a friend rewards too they have the same item ID i doubt IMC even create a different ID for the same item for a lazy company that still plays dumb about channel being fine and not crashing everyday.

To let your simple mind know. You cannot keep track of them since both same item ID get mixed into it.

Anyhow, this is just ‘a’ reason why IMC did not revert veterans. I couldn’t care less. Goodluck
